Good breakfast buffer with variety. Nice, friendly staff. Need A/C in the gym and elevator. Centralize to districts 1 and 3 businesses and restaurants. Can be a bit noisy at night with all the activities from the nice park across the street. The restaurant served excellent "claypot catfish" and veggie dishes.
I just spend a night there, the breakfast was good and service was very attentive. But the room wasn't confortable. The bathroom needed a deep cleaning and the towels they gave me were dirty. Altough it was cheap I was expecting something better.
We spend there a night, after the trip from Hanoi, we took a taxi to got there it was raining cats and dogs...the driver was driving the taxi nearly to the entrance....thanks a lot.....the we entered our room where a lovely fruit basket was waiting for us...than the rain stopped and we went to the next soup stand....delicious..... The next time we will spent more in the city, to explore every corner.....
Had 2 nights here, ideal position within walking distance from backpackers area and the market and Reunification Palace. Rooms were spacious modern and well appointed. Breakfast was the usual Western and Asian selection with lovely Vietnamese coffee on offer. Very good value for money.
Stayed here on a tour (so I cannot comment on the value for money as it was included in the tour cost), however it in a great location, walking distance to awesome parks, lots of restaurants, night markets etc. The hotel was clean and new, spacious rooms and bathrooms, friendly staff and they always helped you cross the road outside. The breakfast was typical asia / western buffet - nothing amazing, but something for everyone to eat. Unfortunately no views - but no views at any hotel in Pham Ngu Lao - and also no pool, which are only in the top end hotels. Don't be put off by it being in the "backpacker district" - Vietnam quietens down after 10pm so it is not a noisy hotel at night.
We booked a superior room and were a bit disappointed it had only one very small window. Room was clean but quite small. We didn´t spend so much time there so it didn´t really matter. The park next to hotel is very nice and it was full of activities. There´s quite short walk to Bến Thành Market. OK hotel to stay for one night before leaving to airport. If there´s noice on the corridor, you can hear everything to the room - not nice.
Very big hotel. Clean and big room. Great Location, 5 minutes walking from the market. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby . Excellent breakfast buffet.
It is a tipical hotel for big groups of people in an organized tour. If you like this kind of hotels it is great value for money.
Excellent location, close to the park and backpackers area but not too noisy, great breakfast with a big choice.
I have stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. I was booking the hotel almost the last minute before my trip started and chose this hotel because it was offering room with a window for a fair price. For the first 3 nights a had a room facing inner yard and it was great, calm, no street noise. After coming back from 2 days trip from Mekong Delta hotel upgraded the room for us and offered a room with a city view. This was nice from their side but it was not real upgrade for me because of the street noise in the morning. The tip - ask for the room to inner yard if you want to have proper sleep, which I think you will need after hanging out during the night. And don't overpay for the city view room, all you need is proper sleep and if you want great city view go to one of those city towers, sky bars for a drink so you can enjoy the view.
Breakfast in the hotel was one of the best I had during my 2 weeks trip in Vietnam. Wide choice, tasty, big breakfast room.
Location is great, close to all main activities - backpackers area, restaurants, market, ticket booking offices. It is in the centre of everything. Street is a bit busy during the days but not noisy and busy in the night as some others in backpackers area.
This is a great 3 star hotel with an awesome location. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean. Most attractions are within 2km, the breakfast was pretty good especially for 3 stars and we felt very safe on this street. We would definately stay here again.
The Vien Dong Hotel is what you expect of a 3 star hotel on european standars. The location is quite good (central), very close to the backpacker area and within walking distance of all the malls etc. in the center. Service has been good all the time. Not five star, but nothing to complain. Breakfast too is ok. Freash fruits, bread, coffee, bacon & eggs plus a selection of local foods. For us as a couple it was a good hotel to spend a total of five nights in during our two weeks in Vietnam. It had everything we needed which was a comfortable bed, a relatively clean room and warm water in the shower.
