"So-So"
It was just a place to stay overnight on our way to Lake George. We didn't realize Lake George was so close to Albany, or we would not have booked a hotel at all. This hotel was very comfortable and clean. Our room was clean, but just fair as far as amenities were concerned. Our sink faucet had been installed backwards (hot on the right, cold on the left). We have stayed in hotels with our dog (or dogs) before, and this one was about what we expected: nothing special, fairly clean, so-so neighborhood.

"Clean and economical with a nice staff."
The staff was helpful and courteous. Room was clean and the Wi-Fi worked great. Ample parking and plenty of food options in the area. Close to 87 and easy to locate. I look forward to my stay again on 8/26/15. Very satisfactory for the price.

Paid cash when I checked in and they held my credit card for five days of 360 dollars. Lady at front desk was rude blamed it on the bank went to bank and bank said it was still processing and the bank could not release the money. It was up to travel lodge , asked the travel lodge was holding my card due to damages or until we check out. The lady at the desk said no we do not do that and was very rude again.Tub was not cleaned everyday, a piece of hair was in the same place for five days. Room smelled like mildew or musty. Not happy at all will never stay there again.

Regarding the misunderstanding pertaining to your debit card, the $360 charge is what the bank classifies as a “pending charge” against your debit card. It usually takes about five days before this is deducted from your statement. As a Heads-up, if you are only going to use a card to hold a room, rent a car, etc., I would suggest using a “CREDIT CARD” to avoid the frustration that a debit card creates. I wish to assure you that Travelodge, itself, did not charge your card. I apologize in behalf of our staff person if she appeared “unsympathetic”. Also, we will discuss the issues with your room during our weekly staff meeting with the owner. Our goal is to provide a . . “CLEAN, FRIENDLY AND SAFE STAY” to every guest.

"You get what you pay for."
There was a line out the door of people waiting to check in. Megan(clerk) was totally frustrated and saying "only three weeks til school starts and I'm out of here" People were getting angry. One man wanted to change rooms because his tv didn't work and there were ten people waiting to check in. No one to help with luggage. I was told I could catch a free shuttle in the morning. My flight left at 7 am but the shuttle doesn't come until 6. I had to pay $15.00 for a private shuttle.

"The price is right!"
Room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. The ac was very loud and cold( tried turning it to a lower setting.... Still too cold). Front desk was very nice. Room was very good for the price. Only drawback was we couldn't find hotel at first( think the sign is to small).... This hotel is set back from the main road.

Its a hot summer day and the ice machine wasn't working during my stay. No one made any accomindations for us, such as buying bags of ice and offering it the guests. To top it off there was no water in the vending machine, it was completely out leaving only two options of soft drinks. The person at the front desk seemed to not care and said we should just go to the store across the street.

"Quiet, reasonable hotel"
An impromptu trip to see family nearly turned into a nightmare when we didn't have a place to stay. I hadn't recognized the name of this hotel and was very skeptical about staying but it was a wonderful experience! The rates are very reasonable, our room was extremely clean and well-maintained by the staff throughout our stay and everyone we spoke with was pleasant. The only failing that was pointed out by my husband was the lack of choices at the breakfast bar in the mornings. Otherwise, thank you very much for the wonderful stay!

"Cheap though and through"
The employees were friendly, but rather incompetent, plus they had zero ability o fix problems. Their FREE Wi-FI did not reach my room. I was told I would have to go up to the lobby to access the internet. The alarm clock was broken in my room, and when I asked for a replacement, they did not have any extras, really ?!?

Hotel bedding needed changed and AC wasn't working correctly for the first couple hours. Service from the late night staff (2 men) was great... Very helpful and friendly under the busy conditions. The manager over the breakfast area was also very helpful and friendly with my father every morning. Bonnie the front desk staff was awful and as a business owner myself I would not want her working for me especially at the front desk. She was extremely rude and short with me upon check-in. She was not helpful and showed lack of concern when my sister and my father went down needing an extra towel because they only put 2 towels in a room and we had 3 in one room (2 double beds). I went down after Bonnie left and the gentleman was able to help me with a towel. Bonnie said we had to wait till morning.

I was told that every room had a mini-fridge. When I checked in I notified the front desk that my room did not have one. The clerk had to physically check my room to make sure it was not there. I explained that I was there for the week, for work and really needed one. I was assured that one would be put in the next day. I stopped to the store for grocery items after work the next day, still no fridge. Notified the front desk again, was basically told there was ice in the lobby. Rude, ice in the lobby really. I had to throw out cold meats, cheeses, mayo ect. Absolutely will not stay again.

"Not too shabby..."
Front Desk Lady was quite less than friendly, she didn't even smile but it may have been due to lack of substantial teeth count in her mouth. The room was relatively clean, there were crumbs and wrappers under the bed and behind the desk. But the bathroom was clean and shower worked perfectly as well as the AC. The biggest complaint I have was the inadequate TV/Cable access in the room. TV was an old Tube TV and what few channels that were available were very fuzzy. Not a show stopper though, a nice price for a room with plenty of action and restaurants very close by.

"adequate"
noisy guests across the hall kept me awake til 1 am as well as the fireworks which appeared to be coming from the macys parking lot..thanks to the mattress on my bed what sleep I got was solid..old tv was surprisingly clear..two of the pillows on the bed were adequate for my needs but the third was totally flat..good thing I did not have a companion..good midlevel hotel at a good price but a little too close to the northway..

"Low Cost and Airport Convenient"
The location is great if you need to be close to the Albany Airport. Very close to the airport and has a mall directly across the street, and there is a variety of restaurants. I stay here every time I come through Albany because it is low cost and convenient. The hotel is old and being worked on, but the convenience factor outweighs the property.

The front desk clerk was cold when we checked in, then noone available at desk later when we had an issue with wifi. Room had a musty odor. Had to pin the curtains closed for privacy (ground floor). Loud hallways.

Overall it was alright except that hotel.com gives the option to pay before you get there or pay at hotel. So I chose to pay at hotel only to find that they charged my card that morning before I had even arrived. I did not want it on my card I wanted to pay cash and had to argue with them that this was what hotel .com offers. Very aggravating!

"Good location"
The hotel is non-smoking. I stayed here when it was smoking and liked it better but understand the change. The air conditioning was running all night and I was freezing. I did not ask for help but now I know that the a/c works! The room was kind of dark but it was clean. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best but I love the shampoos they provide.

"Never again"
We would like a refund for everything that happened. Rooms where not ready until 5:30. AC in two of the rooms where not working. Our reservations got messed up, and one of the rooms was suppose to be for a king size bed. No towels in one of the rooms. And missing trash can in another room. Customer service was awful and no manager anywhere onsite. Cleaning crew was watching TV instead if having our rooms cleaned.

"A Decent Place To Stay On A Budget"
The hotel was decent for the price. However, it smelled like an old building and cigarettes, not to mention the room down the hall had a smoke alarm that was going off when I arrived and was still going off when I left the next day. The woman at the front desk was pleasant. The best thing is this hotel is in a great area, especially if you're into shopping. The mall is across the street.

"Good Stay"
I stay her anytime in Albany, rates are reasonable, staff is helpful and kind,the double rooms are been renovated,singles not bad, and its American owned and operated.

"Not bad."
Perfect location - just across the street from a mall and within walking distance of a Chili's, Five Guys, Taco Bell, and H**ters (the editor says the restaurant name is inappropriate - go figure). Hotel property is a little old and the amenities are a little outdated, but they appear to be slowly upgrading. This hotel rates good on value and location, just don't expect too much extra for the price.

"Good hotel, great service"
Just a quick overnight and it was fine. The free breakfast was nothing to write home about but there was plenty of hot coffee. Room was reasonably clean and comfortable. A real plus was the desk clerk, Dawn, who, when I discovered (in Boston) that I'd left my Surface tablet behind, found it in Housekeeping and overnighted it to me so that it arrived before I had to leave for home. Her prompt action was a real life-saver.

"Never again"
I booked a double room and was given a single room that smelled like smoke. I asked to change rooms because of the smell but mentioned that I had booked a double. The front desk lady gave me the double room but not before another employee said it was the last room available, as if trying to say I wouldn't be able to switch again if I was not satisfied. Also, she mentioned that I should have been charged an extra $20 bucks for the double room. I know what I booked and the hotel was not full, they had other rooms available. During my stay, my floor was having electrical work done and some of our lights would not work because the electrician was shutting down circuits on the breaker panel. The location was great because it was across the street from the mall but I will never stay there because of the rudeness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms.

We will address this with them during our next weekly meeting. As you may have noted, we are doing a substantial upgrade to our property. Therefore, several rooms were taken out of inventory for painting. I apologize that the original guest room you were assigned smelled of smoke. "Less than average."
Just below par. Wasn't expecting much. Got a little less than average overall experience. All complaints and concerns ahve been noted by previous guests. Unless remodeling and upgrades are in order the hotel is what it is.

"Fortunately I Was Not There For Long"
Flight delay had me not getting there until almost 2 a.m. and I checked out less than 5 hours later. The place was not well lit on the outside with a very small sign, so I drove past it once before spotting it on the way back. The desk guy set a record for slow check-in, which I guess was OK since this meant less time in the room. Furniture was pitted, missing drawer in what passed for a desk, sporadic heat, and the smallest (and pretty uncomfortable) "queen" bed I have ever seen - I am not tall but my feet still hung over the edge. It was a pleasure getting out of there, even if it WAS on only 2 hours sleep.

"no thanks"
We arrived and found that a water line had broke and there was no water. The public works crew fixed the line and all was well. The building is in need of an upgrade but the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. The lady at the front desk was very helpful with the water situation. Have stayed there before and would again. Good place for the price.

"Bad plumbing"
Shower knob was broken. Had to keep tightening the screw to adjust water temp. Toilet didn't flush properly. We had three people and they only left two towels. I have been trying to call the hotel for the past 2 hours and no one is answering the phone.

"Building needs help"
The shower faucet pulled out of the wall when we tried to turn it on. When I called the front desk, I was told that maintenance could check it after 9 am. I had a business appointment at 8:30! We finally got it turned on by holding the back of the faucet against the wall while pulling out the nob to start the water running. Also, there were two courtesy conditioner bottles, but no shampoo in the room. The hallway was under construction, with bare cement in some places and loose carpeting lying around elsewhere.

"second bad experience"
This is my third time staying here and i can say my experience here has not gotten any better. The first time i stayed the room wasn't clean, the staff wasn't accommodating, and thr food was horrible. My second stay was better but only because they tried to make up for my first experience. But the lady at the front desk confronted us about our review on the staff. She asked us why we thought she had been rude. That just put us in an awkward position. But it was fine none the less. This time we gave it another try and once again the same front desk receptionist came off bothered that I asked if they offered late check out. And there was a dog barking all night that kept us up. I was hoping they would ask us how our stay was when we checked out but we were barely acknowledged and just told to leave the keys on the counter. I can officially say I will not be returning to this establishment

"Nasty, dirty, gross."
We had to fly into Albany due to a cancelled flight and just wanted a place to rest for a few hours. This Travelodge is downright gross. It smelled like old cigarette smoke and was dirty, dirty, dirty. The sheets felt used (that heavy feel they get when they aren't washed in a while), the nightstand had some sort of grease on it, the floor was not vacuumed, and the bathroom was nasty. I slept with my clothes on - that's how gross it was. The staff was less useful than a football bat and very white trash. You couldn't pay me to stay there again.

"Comfortable stay for short business-related trip"
It is right across the street from the big Colonie Mall shopping center but is far from downtown Albany, which wasn't clear in the listing. Nice Italian restaurant right next to it.
