I loved this place. I would have given it all 5's, except for 2 things. There is not a strong enough wireless signal to enjoy wireless in your room, you have to go to the lobby, which was very inconvenient. And secondly, I felt that the food was overpriced. Lovely clean and comfortable room in quiet countryside 7 or 9 km from town, so it was delightful to be able to sleep with the window open to the cool night air after weeks of noisy hotel air conditioners. Well sign-posted, so easy to find.

The hotel is located in a wonderful setting, quite, peaceful, one with nature, wtih its log cabin architecture. The rooms are big and spacy, with a very nice indoor pool and jacuzzi and sauna, all in good shape with big windows to view the surrounding mountains. Upon awakening the view out of my bid bedroom window of the sun rising over the mountains […] was mesmerizing and memorable. Located a bit off the main road, but not far, its surrounding forects seems inviting to the wildlife, as we had dinner in the hotel restaurant, a black bear came out for a stroll on the hotel grounds! He was quite the show, everyone got up to watch!! As we left the next morning, we also came upon one crossing the street, very friendly and non aggressive, going about his business. On the downside, dinner at the hotel restaurant did not meet our expectations, if you must eat there, stick to basics like chicken skewars with fries, and even then, the fries seemed refried and stale. We ate because we were starving and it was not cheap! Prices dont match the product. Price would not be an issue, if the food tasted good and made with fresh ingredients. I am specific about this, because the hotel has wonderful potential to be GREAT, but they must improve the restaurant service. Not to be missed, if in the area, be sure to visit the Dam's Visitor Center it is very instructional for children and adults alike with entertaining videos, tours and hands on activities and displays! I was recommended this hotel by the hotel.com operator when I called to make another reservation that was full. We had never stayed here before but we will again. It is outside of Revelstoke up the mountain and beautiful. If you want a quite place to stay this is the place. I recommend it to anyone.

The resort was very nice but was obviously geared towards winter activities. My only disappointment was the fact that you had to pay for the continental breakfast. Given the lack of hot food the cost was outrageous; it should have been Included given what I paid for the room.

This was a major disappointment. There was only one other room rented the frist night we were there, more the second night and all were from Europe - we felt sorry for them for getting such a lousy deal. The lobby closes between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m. - literally. The outside doors are locked, the entry to the main stairs from the rooms - all second […] floor - has a sign "DO NOT OPEN - Alarm will sound", and the door is wired. The elevator is disabled as well. To enter or leave one must walk to the end of a long second floor hallway and use an outside stairwell. When we left at 6:30 a.m. the lobby had not yet opened, so we had to schelp all our bags down the outside stairs. The "fitness center" is a crowed space - available only off the lobby. The "equipment" is sparse, THE treadmill was folded up and we had a learning expereince getting it opened. Then discovered an electrical short that could be felt touching any metal part. It and the other very limited equipment was covered with a deep layer of dust. The room in which it is located divides its function as a conference room in the same sad state of cleanliness. The hotel offers free wifi - BUT only available in the lobby. Ice is available from the front desk only - the clerk literally takes the bucket to the kitchen and fills it. The hot tub and sauna were good, but open/close when the lobby is available. Our stay was almost redeemed when we were leaving. There was a large black bear in the parking lot as we came down the stairs, and we were entertained for ten to fifteen minutes as the bear attempted to open up a parked storage trailer, then climbed into the back of a parked pickup truck, over the top and down the hood. Obviously, the owners have made a major investment here, but can only be headed for bankruptcy. We feel badly for them but would never ever stay here again nor would we recommend it. We were driving from Vancouver to Toronto. This was our first stop, we got there pretty late but they were still there at the desk waiting for us. The view of the mountains as the sun came up the next morning, breathtaking. Decent hotel, friendly service.

It seemed to be advertised as a family resort, however there is no accommodating babies (no cribs/fridge for milk). It is most certainly a winter place to stay for teens or young adults, not families. Upon waking in the morning you cannot hear nature, but the buzz of electricity flowing through the power lines surrounding you. It is out of the way (about […] 10km out of town) and basically next door to a dump. The room was not cleaned. There was ash in the ash tray on the balcony (found by my 1yo) the coffee jug (which is kept next to the toilet) was not cleaned, just rinsed out, still smelling of old coffee and had a dead bug in it. The mugs were stained. There were previous customer reviews (from 3 months ago) left in the information folder, and they were not positive, obviously have not even been looked at. Made us sign a blank credit card voucher , not just an imprint. We had paid upfront so we had to follow through. We have been all over the world and never had to actually sign a blank voucher. The place is built under a 500 kv power line, so not much to see. It's a trap for naive european travallers. We stayed 2 separate nights during the Summer, on our way to and from B.C. with our 3 young children. We discovered the menu choices were not geared towards children under the age of 10. After we complained about the condition of the room to the front desk she told us we would be given a free meal on our next stay. We were given no promissary note as proof of our next meal, so its basically our word against theirs. It was very clear that we visited Glacier House during their off-season. They were busy re-staining the outside of all the buildings, including the restaurant, where the smell was wafting into the dining lounge. My disappointment lies in the fact that this resort is not kid-friendly. It really is the little things that make a difference when it comes to kids ~ crayons or a kid menu in the restaurant, a swimming pool that has a generous shallow end, a half-decent playground (the one at GHouse has 2 swings & a slide, and nothing to really climb on). Even if they had some children's books lying around in the lobby, it would be a huge gesture to people like me. Or even a bin of old outside toys. Something. Also, they seemed to have an awful lot of rules. European common sense enforced strongly on the guests, I would say. We had a good stop over for one day on our tour of Banff, Jasper, and B.C. The resort has a nice restaurant with a patio, we enjoyed our dinner at the resort as we were tired and didnt want to drive back to town. (about 7 or 8km).The grounds are large and surrounded by trails for hiking and views of snow capped mountains. Our only problem was while […] checking our for an early departure the main door to the lobby and elevators were locked out. No one was around to unlock the front door so we had to take the 25 stairs down to a gravel side walk leading to the side of the parking lot. This was a little tough carrying luggage and would be impossible for the elderly or someone with special needs. Some people were outside in the parking lot waiting to get in and were very angry. This hotel is a little way outside of Revelstoke but in such beautiful surrounds and good access for hiking etc. Overall it felt a little like it was more set up fro winter guests than summer ones - e.g rooms very hot, all carpeted throughout, lots of ski guides in the room. The room was clean and HUGE, so it was disappointing there were no cots/roll away beds available as there would have been ample space. Nice cabin. Not far from town. No one on desk from 10pm to 8 am. Toilet in cabin was not working properly, needed replacing, could not use from midnight to 8 am. Nice and quiet sitting out on the deck until work crews started up with a chainsaw at 8:30- 9:00 am.
