"Excellent service, facilities, and hospitality"
We enjoyed our stay at Delano Homestead. The owner of this B & B was very friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. The house was beautiful, well-kept, clean, and in a nice neighborhood. We would highly recommend the Delano Homestead! Very friendly atmosphere!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very welcoming and clean."
This was the first time that I've stayed at a true bed and breakfast. Heidi (onsite manager) was very welcoming and very courteous. She made my wife and I feel very much like family. The room was clean and orderly. It was a little small and had a slight smell, but given the house's age, it was understandable. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood […] was very peaceful. If we had to stay in the area again, we would definitely stay in the Delano again. The history of the home was very interesting as well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect "home base" for Cape Cod/Martha's V visit"
Our extended 3 day stay was great. Our room was large and comfortable and super clean. Coffee and snacks were always available, breakfast included lots of fresh fruit and baking. Access to the huge garden , living room, kitchen and dining room was encouraged and the owner and staff were very helpful with local directions, events and information. Nearby […] they suggested 2 fantastic restaurants - both were great. Highly recommended!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful old house--clean, airy--with a history"
We were just looking for a quiet get-away near a beach. I would certainly recommend this B & B.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I absolutely loved the B&B. The house and the yard were beautiful. My only fault with it was that the air should have been turned on sooner to our arrival. It had been just recently turned on prior to our arrival. It took a long time to cool the room and bathroom after we checked in. Would stay here again though. The town was picture perfect also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gorgeous and Well Run"
We have family nearby, and usually have stayed at area motels, but we definitely want to stay at the Delano from now on. It was a bit pricey, but actually pretty close in price to the soul-less motels given that it was July on the harbor. For essentially the same money, we stepped back into a genteel and gracious time. The house, furnishings, and gardens […] are picture perfect. Our bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous (with a clawfoot soaking tub). And the continental breakfast offered a lot. Wifi was free and fast. Highly recommend -- we will definitely return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hidden Gem in Fairhaven"
Big thank you to Paul and Heidi for their hospitality! We were looking for B&B's to stay in while we explored the coastal towns of MA during the off season (2nd weekend of April) and happened to find the Delano Homestead B&B. Paul - the owner and proprietor - welcomed us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house and showed us to our room. The room […] was very spacious, lots of windows that brought in the spring sunshine, and a huge comfy bed. Being a B&B, our bathroom was right around the corner from our bedroom, but it was clean, spacious and didn't detract from the experience. The next morning, Heidi greeted us with a smile and a full spread of breakfast foods. Even though we only stayed for one night, it was a great experience! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A fine B&B in Fairhaven, MA"
Elegant and in good taste is how I describe this beautiful old fashioned home filled with solid period furniture, oriental rugs and decorated as it might have been when the owners lived there. We stayed in the Delano room. It is spacious, has a very comfortable King size bed. We felt at home in the genteel environment, much to our liking. Paul showed […] us the living spaces we could utilize the snacks in the kitchen. He, showed us were breakfast would be served and made suggestions about sites to see in Fairhaven, restaurants nearby he recommends. We were only traveling through on our way to Nantucket but were delighted to discover this lovely quiet town, and the homestead which was built in 1832 by a great grand father of FDR. "Close to ferry service to Martha's Vineyard"
We were pleasantly surprised at the historic nature of the B&B and the ambience of it, beautiful antiques and stylish decoration. Host was very welcoming and extra helpful re nearby ferry service from New Bedford to Martha's Vineyard. His knowledge allowed us to make the most of our stay on the island. Plentiful breakfast provided.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved this B&B"
Gorgeous b&b. Large rooms, very private, very centrally-located. Both Paul and Heidi were delightful to speak with. Breakfast was wonderful - fresh fruit, fresh pastries, abundant selection of food. Overall, amazing stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
The house lived up to expectations and more. The bed was fit for a princess (though so high, needed stool to climb up). Paul & Heidi were very welcoming and gave excellent recommendations for local restaurants. However, the room still smelt of paint, the shutters behing the TV were difficult to access, and the door needed shoving to make it shut. These […] are small things compared to the wonderful house & garden in quiet Fairhaven. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Paul, the owner, was informative, helpful, and very pleasant to be around. Heidi delivered a terrific breakfast, wonderful and friendly service and insight, and was also just pleasant and kind. The entire experience was pleasant. But not the grounds and the house - they were stupendous!
"A great B&B experience"

A few friends and I -- we're history buffs -- booked a weekend at the Delano Homestead because of the connection to FDR and the Delano side of his family. The house turned out to be beautiful. And moreover, the hosts were very gracious and friendly. They run a wonderful guest house and for us it was very interesting to get more information about the history of the place. Fairhaven itself is a charming town with good food and nice places to tour. We couldn't have asked for more.
"1st experience @ a B&B"
09/15/12 LCAREDIO Absecon, New Jersey
What a charming experience. The grounds are lovely, the interior common room spacious, the breakfast was varied and abundant, Paul (owner) and Heidi (house manager) did everything to make our stay comfortable. My husband and I travel to this area once or twice a year to visit family. I was so happy with the experience, we've booked again for Thanksgiving weekend.
"Perfect location, perfect house, perfect everything!"

I can't remember how I happened to find the Delano Homestead B&B online, but I'm so glad I did. We spent two wonderful days and would have loved to have been there longer. First of all, the house is amazing. Most homes of this era have been restored but this is one that has been lovingly maintained. You feel as if FDR and Eleanor might come in at any time, just as they did so many times before. Yet, while all the integrity of the original house has been maintained, you have all the modern comforts we are used to having. The bathrooms are lovely with separate showers, and the bedrooms are air-conditioned with cable TV. One disadvantage of staying such a short time is that I didn't have the chance to just sit and read all afternoon in the beautiful garden. The location is perfect for exploring the area. It is a short drive to Cape Cod, and across the bridge from New Bedford with all it's whaling history. There is a ferry to Martha's Vineyard just a few miles away. Fairhaven is a lovely little town, with beautiful old homes and some great restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Elisabeth's and The Pasta House, which surprisingly had the best chowder I've ever eaten. While there is not a hot breakfast served at the B&B, there are all kinds of cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, and beverages provided. I hate those B&Bs that are overdone with filly lace everywhere. There is none of that here. The house is very tastefully decorated. The owner is friendly, helpful and obviously committed the maintaining this home, which I consider a work of art.

What a nice get away. I was traveling on business in New Bedford, and it was so nice to have a quiet and comfortable stay so close to the city. Lot's of historic charm. The staff are friendly, yet not overbearing. Generous continental breakfast.
"Very pleasant surprise"

This is a lovely, low key inn, in a lovingly restored 19th century house. No ticky-tacky. Great mattresses. Great garden. This would make a nice wedding destination. The place is affordable, and charming. And the biggest surprise is the town itself. The owner recommended a great place for me to jog down to the ocean. Gorgeous. There's a couple of restaurants a block or two away, that were memorably good and just as reasonably priced. I would definitely come back. Note that they don't take children.
"A Lovely Surprise"

I was travelling with a friend who is a history buff and who booked Delano Homestead over the web because of its connection to Franklin Roosevelt. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it absolutely beautiful, charming, comfortable, beautifully decorated and elegant. Often these old places are a bit fussy in their decor but not this one -- really beautiful and with no sacrifice to modern comforts. The bathroom in the top floor merits special praise -- recently renovated, it is a huge white oasis with a window overlooking the garden, claw footed tub, separate shower, totally modern but fitted out with period fixtures Everything was great!!!!!!!!.

Did you ever want a private room with the elegance of a by gone era? If so this charming B&bB is for you. This jewel of an inn is located in the historic section of Fairhaven, MA. The home is within easy walking distance of the beach, churches and the library. The downtown area is small, but the friendly residents of this seaside community more than make up for the size. Breakfast is not served at the Delano Homestead, but some delightful restaurants are close to the home. My husband and I have stayed here many times, and are never disappointed.
"Delano Homestead South Coast Dream"
05/06/07 Larson01 Chatham, MA
My wife and I stayed at the Delano Homestead in June of last year. We chose it for a number of reasons, but primarily because we wanted to be able to take advantage of going to the cape, Martha's Vineyard, Providence and Boston. These places are all easily accessible. When you open the front door, you are greeted by this wonderful, wide open foyer with a view of this incredible, to die for spiral staircase. Soaring ceilings abound everywhere, with floor to ceiling windows in just about every room. Period furniture smacks of the Roosvelt family and that era. The bedrooms are large and, again, beautifully furnished to match the time period. You can't find a post bed like the one we slept on at Ethan Allen!! To make it really special the host, Paul, greeted us with yummy over-sized muffins and coffee in the morning. We told friends of ours who were visiting their daughter at Brown Unverisity to give it a swing. They did, and they enjoyed their experience as well.
