I find B&B's a bit odd - but they are growing on me. There were small things about the room that gave it a 4 instead of 5. But everything was clean, and it was so peaceful on the lanai outside the room and upstairs... Although the cows and chickens can get a bit noisy at supper time; they are quiet at night. And they have extra supplies you can borrow to make your trip easier (coolers, boogie boards, straw mats, etc). Location is great for exploring the southwest and western part of the island. All B & B rooms are on the 1st floor sharing a living room. There're beach stuff for guests, e.g. towels, snorkeling, chars, coolers, ...etc. Our room was small but decent. For our room (Hibiscus Room), hot/cold water shower was set up opposite. And there's hair in the bath tab which grossed me out. And, my husband said the room has moldy smell. I guess […] the owners are old couple, so the cleaning/maintenance didn't seem thorough.There're left-over toiletries (free hotel kinds), so you may want to pack your toiletries. The breakfast starts only from 8:30, and owners sit down with you forever. If you have your schedule and start your day early, you can just eat and leave. Otherwise, the breakfast seems to last all morning. We had coffee, bakery, fresh fruits, fruit juice, and main dish which changes daily. One thing about the location is that B & B is located in the middle of nowhere. We had to drive 20 miles to get any restaurants which all close before 9pm. I strongly recommend you plan to have dinner (e.g. in Kona) before coming back to B & B. As the public land is in front of B & B, there're feral animals, e.g. roosters, cows. Roosters start cockadoodledoo around 4am. One night a cow started mooing all night. He sounded like someone was trying to slaughter him, and very loud. In summary, if you don't mind the remote location, feral animals, and slow morning, it'd be perfect. But if you like convenience, you may want to choose somewhere near Kona. Read more

A wonderful B&B in Captain Cook, far enough from town to enjoy peace and quiet but close enough to all the beaches and sites. The owners are fantastic, breakfast is superb and the geckos provide fun entertainment on the lanai. We stumbled on it after getting soaked camping and now we wish we'd spent the whole week there.

Hale Hola Bed and Breakfast was awesome, The owners Bob and Mary were great. Mary would fix us a basket in the mornings that we had to be gone earlier than breakfast was served. That was great! Bob helped us with sites to go see on the Island, that helped us not to waste time. If you like to be set outside of the busy downtown atmosphere, this is a great place to stay. It is only 20 miles from downtown. You can see the ocean from their Bed and Breakfast. The Island and Bob and Mary at Hale Hola Bed and Breakfast touched our hearts. C'était notre première expérience en bed and breakfast, nous n'avons pas du tout été déçus. Nos hôtes, Harry et Mary, étaient très gentils, intéressants et plein de bons conseils. Le petit déjeuner était fait maison, c'était parfait. Nous avions une très belle vue sur la mer. La chambre était classique, mais très pratique. Bei Bob und Mary wird man in einer familiären Atmosphäre aufgenommen. Papajas und Bananen wachsen direkt an der Terrasse. Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist das die Hähne in der Nachbarschaft ihrem Tagwerk bereits bei Sonnenaufgang, also vor 5 nachgehen. Also nichts f ür Langschläfer. Das B&B können wir bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

I coniugi titolari sono persone squisite e disponibili, ma purtroppo non riteniamo di consigliare questo B&B. Facendo rigoroso riferimento alla nostra esperienza, come deve essere, dobbiamo lamentare che: la stanza non era pronta al nostro arrivo (pare che si fossero dimenticati della nostra prenotazione); il livello di pulizia non è al livello degli […] standard europei; il lanai era carino e con vista gradevole ma pressoché inutilizzabile a causa dei molti micro escrementi che tappezzavano le sedie e il tavolo (comprendiamo che si formino rapidamente ma almeno all'arrivo dovevano essere puliti); abbiamo rilevato molti insetti in camera come non ci è mai capitato in altre sistemazioni simili alle Hawaii, compreso qualcosa come grosse pulci saltellanti che ci hanno svegliato con il ticchettio dei loro salti; ogni notte l'allarme antincendio suonava più volte facendoci svegliare in malo modo; la colazione era servita su una bella terrazza e ci hanno offerto un bell'assortimento di frutti (del loro giardino) ma era più frutta che altro (pan cake con succo d'acero o simile), tanto che al rientro in camera abbiamo dovuto integrare con i biscotti che abbiamo sempre con noi in viaggio; i molti gechi presenti sono simpatici, colorati e ci siamo abituati, ma dover fare colazione con loro che corrono sul tavolo, sulle posate e bevono dentro i bicchieri lo riteniamo eccessivo; la posizione del B&B si è rilevata pessima per qualunque cosa si debba fare in zona, lontana da Kailua dove sono i locali più carini per cenare e dove è più gradevole passare la serata; in diversi orari, quando i proprietari sono fuori, è impossibile avere alcun tipo di assistenza. In generale abbiamo avuto l'impressione che i proprietari puntino tutto su cordialità e rapporto amichevole con gli ospiti, trascurando tutto il resto. Würde dort jederzeit wieder buchen. Herzlicher Empfang und ein wunderschönes Zimmer mit Balkon und Aufenthaltsraum. Ein erstklassiges Frühstück mit frischem Obst und selbstgebackenem Kuchen. Einziger Nachteil ist die etwas versteckte Abfahrt von der Hauptverkehrsstraße.

très bon accueil dans ce B&B tenu par un couple de retraités. Ils nous donnent d'excellents conseils sur la région: plages de toutes sortes, sélection de restaurants, sites culturels. Un excellent petit déjeuné cuisiné nous est servi.
