Suites Gran Via 44 - Granada

Stayed for 2 night with my boyfriend, it was in a great location, close to everything. The staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgable and helpful. The room was nice and spacious and clean. We were very happy with out stay and will recommend this hotel.

Loved that it was a suite. We bought food and ate in one evening. After the big mid-day meal it was nice to eat light in our suite. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Nice place, good location - short walk to most of the main areas of Granada. It is on a loud & noisy street, but our rooms (we had 2) backed up into a quieter side street. Very clean, large rooms with kitchen--be warned that if you use anything in the kitchen, you're responsible for cleaning up. No issue for us as we actually read the guide they provided; […] however, it was not something they mentioned at check-in. Air conditioning worked well but didn't seem to be regulated - it was either on or off, setting the temperature didn't appear to have any effect on how hot or cold it got. The staff went out of their way to meet our every need. The arranged a rental car for us and helped us with our travel plans. The rooms are very clean. It was so great to have a kitchen. There was also a special room for watching videos that had free coffee provided - the fancy kind! The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the main tourist area.

The suites are good size, new, clean, and the staff is polite and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located just a short walking distance up the street to the Cathedral, Isabel/Columbus plaza, or down the street to the university. The Alhambra mini bus stops in front of the suites and heads to the Arab district and Sacramonte.

Suites Gran Via 44 is a fairly modern hotel in a fabulous location along Gran Via de Colon, one of the main streets in Granada and central to everything. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the space even knowing that we were getting a suite. But please heed other reviews and avoid a street suite if possible as there is much traffic noise. We […] were originally given a room overlooking the street, but the staff was very accomodating in changing our room location. As a US traveller, we were surprised that there were no washclothes in our room and after inquiring about getting a few, we were told that they don't supply them. Is that a European thing? Otherwise, the front desk personnel spoke rather good English and were very accomodating in every way --- making Flamenco show reservations for us, giving directions, ordering taxis, etc. The only issue we had was the painting work going on outside our room at 4:30 AM. The workers removed the plate covering our doorbell, which, of course, set it off, waking us from a deep sleep. Falling back to sleep was difficult due to the constant swishing of the paintbrushes. Rather odd time to be working but no one seemed to be able to tell us why the work was taking place at that time. In spite of this, Suites Gran Via 44 was a fabulous hotel choice and we highly recommend a stay there the next time you are in Granada. Read more

We loved the accomodations and the location is good. Like most of Spain when staying in a city you have to worry about noise, as the young adults like to stay out very late. We requested a room in the back to avoid street noise from the main road. This is a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, excellent beds, very helpful front desk staff. I had them do some laundry for me, and it was done very nicely. I did not try the breakfasts. Good wireless network. If you are driving there, do download and follow the driving instructions. Suites Gran via was in a great location 5 min walk to the Cathedral, across the street from the bus taking you directly to the Alhambra (we walked the beautiful to the site ) and less than 10 min walk to the Albaican. Extrememly comfortable beds. Get the breakfast in the room it felt like such a luxury definitely worth the 9 euro!

We arrived in Granada early in the morning after taking the overnight trenhotel from Barcelona. A bit sleepy we arrived at Suites 44 and were initially informed that we could store our bags but a room would not be ready until later in the day as the hotel was fully occupied. We expected we had arrived far too early and were happy to have a place to […] leave our bags. Just before departing the nice front desk manager gave us keys to a great two-bedroom suite overlooking Gran Via de Colon, the main street from the Estacion de Ferrocarriles and the city center. The hotel has a memorable lobby and nice decor. The suite had a living room with dinning table for four, a kitchen area with a tremendous amount of storage and enough supplies to but together a basic meal. There were two bedrooms, each with its cheerful color pattern and plenty of room. Televisions were located in each of the three rooms. There was one bathroom with a single vanity, high tech toilet, and walk-in shower. The view overlooking Grand Via was magical in the evening. Wifi was included and worked well (password from the front desk). We ordered the in-room breakfast option for two and had more than enough choices to reasonably feed our children and have some for the adults (we had some additional food and cereal we brought the night before). Suites 44 held out bags when we checked-out and were very helpful when we returned before departing for a late evening train. Read more

This was a really good choice of hotel. We got a suite at the back - very quiet and comfortable. Small bedroom (only a full-size bed!), medium size bathroom with nice shower, living/dining room and kitchen. Bus stop is 50 yards down the street, with buses every 5 mins to Alhambra. Mini grocery stores 1-2 blocks away. You can ask for a kettle; dishes/cutlery […] provided. 5-10 minute walk to old Muslim town (Albayzin) with wonderful restaurants, and 5 minute walk to Cathedral, more restaurants and tourist bus, which was well worth it. Book Alhambra tickets on line a few days beforehand. Do the Nasrid Palace twice: once at night for photography and during the day for audio-guided tour. This was a wonderful experience. Buy a 15-ride pass on the bus system right away. It's 12 euros and costs another 10 euros to top it up. Much cheaper than individual tickets. Hotel staff were really pleasant and helpful and security was excellent. A room at the front would probably be noisy as it fronts on to the largest street in Granada - the Gran Via Colon. This is a small boutique-type hotel in old Granada. The staff were warm and welcoming, the room very clean. Great shower and very comfortable mattress. Not fancy or upscale at all, but I'm pretty picky and would definitely return to Suites Gran Via without reservation if I'm ever back in Granada.

The hotel is so new that the cab driver hadn't heard of it. It's clean, quiet, and rather modernistic in design. It's about 4 blocks to the beach and 6 blocks to the nearest subway stop. Friendly staff. You can buy a mid-sized breakfast buffet at a reasonable price.

Our room was very impressive at first glance. Great little 1br suite with kitchen, and nicely decorated. Service was an issue, though. We went to the front desk late in the evening because the shower wouldn't drain if you turned the water on more than 1/3 power. When telling them what room we were in, they said, "oh yeah, we know about that. just let […] it overflow and drain in the center of the bathroom". That isn't acceptable for a place that charges what they do. So, be warned if you have room 16. In addition, the night manager wasn't at all helpful. He laughed me off when I asked for shaving cream, and wouldn't even look for some until I showed him the services guide that said they could provide some if needed. Read more

The price was excellent (of course, this was off-season); loved the fact that it was very close to all of the places we wanted to visit (baths, shopping, stops for buses to get to Alhambra and old city); we rode a train into Granada and used mostly our feet and some public transportation to get around. I know they've a pick-up/drop-off parking spot […] to load/unload, but I think parking would be spotty for you if you're using a rental. I don't recall them having assigned parking or a garage. Also, remember that traffic entering straight onto Gran Via is restricted to buses/taxis/residents. Read more

Gran Via was just as we expected. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchenettes were properly stocked for cooking a simple meal. The apartment is very well situated to all the major shops and sights in Granada. Those sights that cannot be reached on foot - are accessible by bus (goes from right outside the hotel!). Although each apartment is self-catering - rooms are serviced daily - and the reception staff (manned 24hours) was superb! Very modern hotel with big suites and a good location. Only negative was the street noise from Gran Via, the major street in town on which the hotel is located, but the traffic died down at night and the hotel had good windows with wooden shutters which blocked out much of the sound. In a city temperature of 37degC it was lovely to walk into this calm cool building, with the tranquil sound of the courtyard fountain to relax to. The apartment (no12) was an interior one, by the lift but there was no noise to disturb me. Very comfortable, fab memory foam bed, large shower and quite disconcerting (for an uptight Brit) electric bidet […] :) Staff very helpful, even let me print off boarding cards for sunday return flights. We arrived in the early afternoon and still had enough time to get to Alhambra walking up by Washington Irwing hotel to the main entrance and down to the banks of river Darroo for tapas dinner and easy stroll back to the hotel. NIce, modern apartments in a ideal location. 5 mins by Taxi from Elhambra, walking distance to restaurants etc. Several pleasant community lounge areas with free coffee in one of them. Two things to be aware of: If arriving by car, you need to park in a laneway by the hotel, which must be entered via another laneway further along Gran Via. The garage […] parking is very tight, but helpful desk staff helped with getting in and out. Once in Granada, you will be better off using taxis for short trips.
