Hotel Centra - Riga

During the day the hotel is excellent, but at night the neighborhood is very noisy.

Very clean and great location. You can walk to major siteseeings. However it is too centre of the area so its quite noisy on weekends. If u have ear plug it is perfect!

Hotel Centra was just that--central to Riga's attractions and transportation. Our room was large with high ceilings and with a pleasant 2 window view of the city. Decorations were modern, though stark. The employees at the desk could not have been more accommodating, answering all questions enthusiastically. Hotel Centra in Riga was much more than we expected. Our room was quite large and clean, the breakfast were very good and they varied the menu daily. The desk clerk helped us (on line) get our boarding passes for the next leg of ou journey. Iwould definately reccomend this hotel

While a bit more expensive than most hotels in Riga, this hotel is worth EVERY dollar spent. The location is a ten minute walk from the bus station. You're situated right in Old Town in the midst of all the churches, restaurants and night life. I was unexpectedly upgraded at no additional cost to a room mentioned in a travel guide. It was a GREAT suprise […] and if I return to Riga, will undoubetedly stay here again! The room my friend and I shared overlooked the street and was really big. It was extremely clean when we got there and was cleaned every day we stayed. A friend of ours joined us a day after we arrived and his room (a single) was really nice as well. The lobby is very modern but welcomingl. The staff were extremely helpful in regards to the sights to see, where to eat, where to enjoy the night life and even where NOT to go (which is really nowhere near this hotel). The continental breakfast was delicious. The hotel elevator (and most elevators I encountered in the Baltic states as well as Finland) is disturbingly small but does the job. As I stated before, there are much cheaper accomodations in Riga, but the money you save due to the inexpensive economy could be put towards this hotel. Everything about this hotel was great. Many restaurants, pubs and nightclubs were within walking distance. The hotel staff was outstanding and the breakfast was the best I had on my entire trip. Nothing but good things to say about Riga and Hotel Centra.

Stayed three nights at this wonderfully located hotel. Walked throughout the old town and into the city. Very walkable districts, Interesting sights. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Room was very comfortable. Highly attractive, highly functional. Free Wi-fi is a bonus. If you can't find the wireless network, the front desk offers the loan […] of a cable. Mini-bar in room, but tea service is on request. Hotel staff is efficient and helpful. We had a medical emergency and staff helped us (1) find a cab to the hospital and (2) made sure the cabdriver understood we needed the hospital. Many thanks to the hotel staff. Hotel far exceeded expectations - beautiful building, fabulous room (huge for Europe), new, clean, well-appointed. Breakfast buffet was one of the best meals I had in Riga, and smoked salmon was the best I had in my weeklong trip to the Baltics! GREAT location, right by everything.

Hotel Centra is a nice, clean hotel located in the Old Town of Riga. Excellent counter staff, clean rooms and perfect location for holidaymakers! Simple, yet satisfactory breakfast was served in nice atmosphere.

Hottest summer on record over last 20 years - this hotel has large room, shower and tub, beautiful city skyline views, and true air conditioning - (not a swamp cooler). Staff very helpful. This is a boutique hotel with only 27 rooms. (NB: I like boutique hotels, not mega-hotels.) The location is in the old city and close to the bus station. The rooms are a bit tiny, but they are modern, clean, well air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV. Breakfast included good coffee and fresh fruit. The staff was helpful.

GREAT LOCATION AND GREAT SERVICE

The hotel was located in the heart of Vecrīga and we booked a suite for three nights. We were met by a nice but small lobby with friendly staff who presented us with a bar voucher each. We could check in a couple of hours early which was nice. The elevator was really small and was shaking a bit. The room was much better than the website photos showed. […] Really luxurious with a great sized living room and a large bedroom. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but it was really nice and cosy. The view was nice, looking out on St. Peters church tower. The sofas were really comfortable but the bed was a bit on the hard side for my taste. The shower spray was uncomfortable and the water went everywhere when you showered, but as the bathroom had floor heating, that was not a huge problem. The wireless connection was very weak in both the living room and the bedroom, but ok in the toilet and hallway. You can borrow a network cable from the reception which gives you a ten times faster internet connection. The breakfast buffet was small but tasted great and had fresh fruit and freshly made espresso if you asked for it in the bar. Over all a really pleasant stay! Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We found the hotel very well kept clean and comfortable. However, I would not class it 4 star more of a 3 star. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special. I stayed at hotel Centra for two nights on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location of the hotel is fantastic from what I could tell - having the flu and it being -20 degrees outside didn't really entice for much sightseeing. There's a shopping mall with a big Rimi (supermarket) close by. Despite it being unseasonably […] cold for Latvia, the room was nice and warm and I particularly enjoyed the heated bathroom floors. The decor is rather stylish and the bed was very comfortable. A bit of noise did come through the walls when a couple in the adjacent room had a heated discussion. There also wasn't a full-length mirror in the room which would have been convenient. Breakfast was ok though nothing special. I missed bacon, there were only sausages of some sort in the hot section of the breakfast buffet. I was recommended the hotel by a colleague and I would recommend to everyone else as well. Read more

The hotel is in the center of Riga, in front of two churchs, we get the junior suite, it was wonderful: very large, nice bathroom, confortable bed and two big windows. definitly the best hotel to visit Riga.

This is a fantastic small hotel located in the centre of the old town. The staff were very helpful at all times. The 5th floor room was spacious and modern with a view across the old town. Overall, our experience at Hotel Centra was good. The room was large & airy and it had a very modern bathroom. The location was excellent as it was so accessible to everything in the Old Town. Our only gripe was the coffee staff downstairs during the weekday. They had 2 blondes behind the counter who were both very cold and nasty. We were delighted with all aspects of the hotel and found the rooms very roomy. The only downside of the whole experience was the lack of international TV channels.

Very friendly and professional staff that makes you feel both welcome and safe. A clean room where you can adjust the temperature - what more is there to need? Ah, yes. There may be some noise in the late night or early morning from the street when people goes home from the nigt clubs. Breakfast is nothing special, but it's fresh with enough to choose […] between. Great rooms, great breakfast (included), great location and friendly staff. Will stay again.

A lot of screaming drunk people outside in the weekend evenings. We woke up several times although we were on the 5th floor. Try to get a room that is not towards the street. The breakfast could have been better as well.

We have just returned from this hotel and highly recommend it. Firstly, the location is great. It's in the Old Town near restaurants and shops. There is a lovely shopping centre 100 metres to the right of the hotel. If you walk straight on as you come out the hotel, this will lead you further into the Old Town and to most of the sites. The hotel is […] quite small, only 27 rooms over 5 floors but the rooms are very big with a separate table and sofa and plasma TV. Rooms come with free wifi, minibar and satellite TV with some English channels, BBC News, CNN, Discovery, Animal Planet. The breakfast was a very nice buffet. There were cereals, juice, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruit and cooked food such as bacon and eggs. The cooked food was fresh and not reheated. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch but not dinner. That's not a problem though as the hotel is so near lots of nice restaurants and we recommend our favourite, Neiburgs. As the hotel is small, they don't have lots of fancy facilities. However, we found the service excellent. Our room was cold on the first night and we asked for extra blankets. We got these within 10 minutes. The reception staff spoke good English and were very pleasant to deal with. Going home, we used the hotel's own private airport transfer which was 19 Euros, so much cheaper than a standard taxi and we were driven in a nice mercedes back to the airport. Read more

Very comfortable and well situated in the center of town. Room rate wasn't bad either. Breakfast but no lunch or dinner service - still not much of a problem considering the number of restaurants in the immediate area. Room was clean. Bathroom was spacious. Hate to say but I have no real complaints...the elevator was kind of slow. maybe?

Vi har hatt et flott opphold på store romslige rom, som ble ryddet og gjort rent hver dag. Hotellet ligger i hjertet av gamlebyen Riga, nær alt du trenger fra Spa til uteliv og shopping. De ansatte er til enhver tid tilgjengelig og imøtekommende og hjelper med å bestille taxi eller råd om hvor en kan spise, shoppe eller se ting.

Hadde et strålende opphold her. Store, fine og komfortable rom. God frokost og god service (fikk servert frokost på rommet kl 5 da vi hadde tidlig avreise...). Voucher for en gratis velkomstdrink i baren da vi kom:) Sentral plassering, midt i blinken. Fantastisk fint og rent hotell midt i gamle byen i Riga. I nærheten av flere kjøpesenter, restauranter og uteliv :) Stort fint rom, med særdeles behagelige senger og rent og fint bad. Anbefales på det sterkeste.

Har bodd på hotellet med kolleger desember 2011. Var så fornøyd at jeg valgte samme hotell da jeg var på tur, vi var tre vennepar, april 2012. Rommene var rene og pene. Останавливались 2 раза: в номерах на 6 и 2 этажах. Понравились оба: сверху красивый вид на крыши, больше ванная; на 2 этаже высокие потолки, огромные окна, но маленькая ванная. Очень приличный завтрак-и мужа,и ребенка есть чем покормить. Персонал вежлив и ненавязчив. Единственный минус-нет душа на гибком шланге, ребенка мыть неудобно. Расположение прекрасное-достопримечательности […] просто вокруг, магазинчики,кафе и рестораны тоже. В выходные в барах может быть шумно, но звукоизоляция хорошая-мы спали нормально. Интерьер достаточно аскетичен, но недешев, оснащение всех номеров светильниками Artemide редко встречается и в более дорогих отелях. Резюме- очень хороший отель, для Старого города и такой стоимости просто отличный- если вы не любитель отелей "под старину". Read more
