Not a great hotel. More expensive than it should have been and you pay for everything extra, including storing your luggage at the front desk when they can't accommodate you with a room right away. Not too far from a good neighborhood but it's tucked down a side street that looks like you're in the middle of nowhere. Super small rooms. "it was nice enough"
the hotel and the staff was excellent except lacking, what has become, a couple basic ammenities. There was no coffee/tes maker in the room nor was there a safe. But the location was good, the staff were charming, the room was warm and comfortable and clean, the 24hr snack bar was convient;. but, sure would have been nice to have a free coffee in the […] morning before putting on me clothing to buy a cup at the front desk. A minor point but ... important to many of us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It is a no frills hotel but set in a great location. It is walking distance from the center of town, Nyhaven, and Christiania. However, they do not accommodate you if you want to make a reservation for dinner. There are no phones in the rooms so you can't even call for a reservation if you wanted to. That's just their policy (they weren't being jerks). […] I really like it but if you are looking for luxury this is not the place to go. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A cheap hotel - and you get what you pay for"
I tried the Wakeup Copenhagen due to the price, but in the future I think I would just pay more for a different hotel. It has very small hotel rooms (even for Europe) and tiny, very flat pillows. These pillows were about the same as the pillows the airline gives you on international flights. I had to use extra bedding as a pillow just to have something […] that resembled a pillow. The walls are also very thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the surrounding rooms. I had to good fortune to be in the room next to a guy with a cough that made it very difficult to sleep. I would highly suggest staying somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, small, and no frills"
My wife and I stayed at Wakeup Copenhagen for 3 nights in November. The hotel staff was very nice and the overall hotel cleanliness was very good. The rooms are quite small (especially if you aren't used to European hotel rooms), but we found it to be fine. I have also stayed in the CABINN hotel chain in Denmark and I found this room to be spacious […] compared to their smaller rooms. The bathroom consists of a cloudy glass wall. We found it to be ok, but there isn't much privacy if you want any type of privacy in the bathroom. My wife also commented that they go a bit overboard on the no-frills approach. A few examples would be: no phone in the room, 1 quite small pillow per person, no coffee maker in the room, toothpaste if you forget it will cost you 20 DKK. The hotel is pretty decently located. About a 10 min walk to the train station/Tivoli. It is a bit of a hike to Strøget and the tourist areas, but we successfully walked it multiple times. You can also easily take a bus from near the hotel. Overall we would stay here again I think. I think it might be a bit overpriced for what you are getting, but it is an expensive city and this hotel is one of the more budget friendly options. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is clean and location is good for the price. But if you are accustomed to the comforts of 3-4 star hotels, you won't find them here. First complaint: I arrived 2.5 hours before the check-in time and was told that no rooms were available for early check-in in my "price category" but I could paid an extra 100 Kroner to "upgrade" to a room where […] I could check in earlier (same size room, higher floor). Second complaint: There is no option to leave luggage by the front desk for the day. There are pay-lockers in the basement, but these were full on the Sunday that I wanted to use them. Other than that, everything was acceptable for a one-night, one-person stay. (I agree with other reviewers that sharing a room would be uncomfortable given that the bathroom is basically part of the main room.) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel just off the main part of the city."
It was a good hotel I just stayed 1 night and it was not far from the center of actives. My only complaint was I could hear everything going on next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is an excellent choice if you're not planning to spend too much time at the hotel. The room was on the small side but it is smartly designed and very clean. It has all the basic amenities, and the wifi reception was good. The staff were super friendly and I liked the modern feeling of the hotel. The location is ok - it's a 10 min walk from the […] central station (which takes you directly to the airport), but it's kind of a strange business district and there isn't much to see in around the hotel. But then again, a short walk / bike ride will take you to nice restaurants and all the sights. Overall, excellent value for money. I will definitely come again when in Copenhagen. "Copenhagen Central Station"
Utilitarian room that was convenient and resonably priced for the neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room I stayed in was the smallest hotel room I've ever seen. With everything ergonomically placed. You don't have to take more than 2 steps to reach anywhere. There's just a bed, TV, see through bathroom (probably to make the room not seem so claustrophobic) with shower stall and a shelf that is meant to be a desk. No telephone and no frills. It's […] a decent enough place but I thought with a little effort it could be a bit more welcoming. The other hotel I stayed at let me borrow an electrical adapter while I stayed with the understanding that I'd be billed for it if not returned when I left. Wakeup would sell you an adapter, a disappointment for me since I had made it my whole stay in Copenhagen and now stranded for another night at an inferior hotel I'd have to buy an adapter for my last night. It's a little thing but it's those little things that add up and also make you feel welcome. Especially when your hotel room looks so bare. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No nonsense, simple, clean"
My stay at W.U.C. was a good one. Located close to Central Station, not far from Tivoli, it has everything a budget traveler needs. Front desk staff was particularly friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room is okay for one person, but tight for two with the bee against the wall. It is a 15 minute walk to anything.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very small but clean and comfortable room for a 1 night stay. Walking distance to shops but very few restaurants. No restaurant in hotel, you have to go next door to the Tivoli hotel for lunch or dinner. Train station is next door but you can't hear the train from your room. We just stayed the night before we boarded the cruise ship.Genuine Expedia guest review
Did not have phone in room and therefore no wake up calls. Room very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent for price"
Room was very affordable, especially when compared to other Copenhagen hotels. Room was very small but functional, and the hotel had air conditioning, which was key since the temperature was in the mid 80's when I was there. Staff was friendly and helpful, but they refused to let me in a room before 3pm check in time even though I do not think the hotel […] was sold out. Internet was OK but not fast, and the bathroom amenities were very cheap. Location a little far from most attractions but nearby Christianshavn and the river. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lower Price but a Hotel with some discomforts"
We picked Wakeup Copenhagen mainly because of the price and other reviews which were postive. The room was exceedingly small. No room, shelves, etc to put suitcases. No telephone in room. We had to walk a ways to get to anything of convenience, such as a restaurant. The breakfast buffet offered at the hotel was meager. The staff was good and the hotel […] was clean. "Clean, very small room."
The room was very small, more like an independent hostel room. We could barely move once the luggage was in the room. No amenities. Breakfast was excellent and fairly priced at about 15.00 per person. The hotel was far away from the center of town, at least a 20 minute walk. 10 minute walk from the train station. "Great place except the bathrooms"
This is a modern and clean hotel. The rooms are very small, but fine for a couple. However, the bathroom walls are made of frosted glass that don't allow for much privacy. it's an easy walk to/from the train station, the center of town and a major shopping mall (came nhandy for me since my coat was stolen in town). They also offer bikes for rent. The […] breakfast costs extra, but is a buffet so you can get your fill and skip lunch. The free WIFI signal was strong in the room. "Great Location, Super small rooms"
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is great a 7 minute walk to Tivoli and the main train station. 30 minute walk through Stroget to Nyhavn. We we staying in the Large room (the largest one they offer) but it was small even by European standards. Beds were comfortable but the room was only a foot wider than the bed so they almost touch the wall […] on the foot end. As we really only needed a place to sleep it worked out well for us. If you plan to spend any time in the room other than to sleep I would probably look elsewhere. They do however have a lounge area in by the lobby that was used by many of the hotel guests. Nice staff and an easy walk to the main station. The rooms are very small and shower is small and weird. Over all it has everything you need to get some sleep but wouldn't recommend staying for more than one night or two.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel. Minimum facilities."
Its a nice and clean budget hotel - but don't expect anything more. I felt it was overpriced like most things in Copenhagen. My standard size room was smallish (which I believe is typical for Copenhagen hotels) and the service was minimal. For example, my bath towels were not changed. They did clean up the room properly though. And the worst part -- […] food. You pay 70+ krones for breakfast (which is normally free at most hotels in Copenhagen). If you are a vegetarian, all you get is bread and jam. Drinks and sandwiches available on the hotel front desk are heavily overpriced. (A beer, coffee for $5+). They were completely booked though so they must be doing something right. May be the other hotels nearby are even worse. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Practical and Comfortable Stay"
Spent 3 nights in Wakeup Copenhagen in June 2013. Although 2 stars, the hotel had pretty much all the basics you need (probably deserved 3.5 stars and definitely better than most 3 star hotels I've stayed in) Decent sized rooms, clean, practical. It's about 5-10 min quiet walk from Tivoli. Only watch out is the bathroom - it's frosted glass so maybe […] slightly uncomfortable if you are not travelling with someone you are familiar with. "Mod, cute, excellent staff"
I got a kick out of staying here. No frills, but that's what you come here for. Nevertheless, quite comfortable, though there was some odor in the room, coming I think from the shower drain. It wasn't overpowering though. Excellent for people who are using public transit: within easy walking distance to the central train station; also, lockers in the […] basement (20 Dkr) if you need to stow your stuff before your room is available. "Very Compact, Even by European Standards"
Very small room, even though it was supposedly an upgrade. We arrived early and they said they could get us in early if we paid for an upgrade at a minimal cost. What we really got was the same room but on the top floor with a view - of the railroad tracks. They said all the information we needed was in a "welcome packet" in the room, which turned out […] to be a card with some very basic information. It said there were extra pillows and blankets in the drawer under the bed, but there wasn't. There are no phones in the room, so after we went out we stopped at the front desk and they said there was only one pillow per person. We had 2 suitcases and there was nowhere to put them except on the floor. There's no closet - just 4 hangers on a wall. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A great value"
I was very happy with my stay at Wakeup Copenhagen. The rooms are small but comfortable; you may have problems if you're a large person or if you have a lot of luggage. The wireless Internet access was free and fast. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the price was right. I would happily stay there again. It's a moderate […] walk from the train station, which can be difficult if you've got a lot to carry and don't feel like booking a taxi for a two-minute ride. There's not a lot in the immediate area; if you want a quick meal, you'll end up walking back toward the central train station area, or hop on the 11A train, which stops right across the street. "Pretty good hotel for Family"
Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. We were a family of 5 and it was a very clean hotel which is what we were looking for in our reservation. "Welcome to the machine"
The main drawback of this hotel is that it makes you (or at least me) feel like part of a high quality, well functioning machine. Everything works and is in place to assure that no human intervention is required. But if you like a bit of human intervention while traveling that can become somewhat irritating.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything you need for a stay in Copenhagen"
Although my room was small (like a cabin on a ship), I never felt cramped or uncomfortable during a four night stay in Copenhagen. My room was clean and I had everything I needed to make my stay productive (free wi-fi, a usable desk with several outlets to plug in equipment, and air-conditioning). To top it off, the hotel is within walking distance […] of the central train/bus station making it exceptionally easy to get around the city. "Cool, affordable designer comfort"
The exact opposite of a cozy family hotel. No frills, just clean, minimalist design with lots of glass, stainless steel and dark wood. Rooms are comfortable enough but tiny; to open the window you have to kneel on the bed. In the round glass-enclosed shower stall, the only thing missing is Scotty to beam you up. Very modern, with free WiFi but no telephones. […] Friendly and helpful staff. Located in a bland (minimalist?) pocket south of the Central Station; 8 min. walk or 3 bus stops from the station, with the 11A bus going on right into town. At night, the faint rumbling of trains from the near station ease you into sleep, and the coloured fairy lights of the Tivoli Congress Center opposite add a magic touch. "Close to Tivoli"
WakeUp Copenhagen has small but clean rooms. The A/C didn't seem to work so our room got stuffy. Very close the the main train station and Tivoli. Good location, and the hotel seemed to be quite new. Price was reasonable. Room was small but well-designed. Everything seemed very clean. After entering the room, we did not see towels and linien for 2 people. One side of the bed touched the wall under the window. I thought we were in a one person room by mistake. I went to reception to complain, and was informed that all rooms were equal and the towels and linien were in the drawer under the bed. And they were indeed! The room is a wonder […] minimalist design, nothing superfluous. There is no minibar, for a beer go downstairs and buy one at the reception. Excepting for the size it was all clean and new, including a good flat screen TV. It is fine for one person and no luggage, but not for a couple travelling for 20 days. There are bycicles that can be rented. It is useful because Copenhagen is flat and people really use bikes there. But have a good rain coat available! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Copenhagen is quite costly. Wake Up was not only inexpensive but also a joy in which to stay. The clever design packs many amenities into a small size.
