Very clean and comfortable hostel room
The stay was reasonably comfortable. We booked a room that had shared toilet & bathroom facilities - despite this the toilet & bathroom facilities exceeded our expectations >> it was exceptionally clean.

Overnight in Downtown Dresden.
Stayed one night. Upon reservations, we noted that it was a hostel and not a hotel for the rates we are getting. Disclaimer at the bottom of the hotel did say that no discount is given if the room did not have its own shower, so there was no surprise that ours didn't have its own, but let down. That said, however, just two doors down there was three private bathrooms with toilet, sink and shower in each - and they were very clean and new. Rooms themselves were very clean, but cold - not in the temperature sense, but the feeling of all surfaces being hard, except the beds (which were quite comfortable). But, because of no other soft surface, the rooms were loud... to the point of hearing people's voices in other rooms. But hey, this wing was the hostel side. Two huge positives: the parking is pretty ample and very inexpensive considering other alternatives, and included breakfast was as good as 3-start hotels. The other great thing is that it's only at most a 10 minute walk to the Rathaus and the beginning of all that is great about dresden. In the other direction, you are only 10 minute walks to a very large park with a zoo and miniature trains and playgrounds - for those traveling with children as we were.

great location
We really enjoyed our trip to Dresden and staying at Cityherberge. The location was great just a short wAlk from the city center, food, and shopping. When you leave the hotel, you leave your key at the front desk which I thought was so convenient. They are real keys which I always get nervous I will lose during a day where I'm taking my things in and out of my purse. This feature makes it so convenient because you show them a card or your I.D. when you get back and you get your key back. We were put in a room right by the restrooms and it was rather noisy. If I went again, I would request a room farther away from the shared bathrooms. Overall, very clean and rooms were spacious. I would stay there again

convenient to Altmarkt
This property is sort of in the budget hotel slash hostel category, just so you know what you're getting into. even so, it's very comfortable and the service is outstanding. The location could not be better. It is a few minutes walk to the Altmarkt, and its seasonal Christmas market, the Striezlmarkt. Walk the other direction if the Hygiene Museum or the football stadium interest you. The location is well connected by tram to other sights and the Hauptbahnhof. My room was clean and adequately furnished, if simply. The décor is a little uninspiring but this is more than made up for with the amazing en-suite bathroom (walk-in shower is calibrated to 38 C. Bring your favorite soap) also uninspiring: the immediate neighborhood, which would feel even vaster and emptier without the colorful skate park outside the hotel. It seemed like a safe and quiet area while I was there, and it's so close to shopping and historic areas that you'll hardly go back to the room except to sleep. Wi-Fi is free, but only really worked in the hallway and common areas for me.
