"good service and affordable rate"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 24, 2012
PROS - Great service, the front desk was very helpful. Room was better than expected from exterior appearance, direct bus route to downtown at front of hotel and taxi rates were only about twice the rate of the bus.CONS - the cafe food was very poor and the only blemish on an otherwise decent establishment. A 3.5 / 5 overall
"Each Cabin has a Hot Tub!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 24, 2012
Our stay at Deer Harbor Resort was pleasant but not outstanding. Positives include: Friendly staff, clean room, personal hot tub on deck, lots of towels, fireplace and a nice breakfast spread in the morning. Negatives include: no pet friendly rooms, heated pool not open and the mattress was hard and lumpy.
"Very satisfied!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 18, 2012
Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Caught the ferry in the morning. Location was key for us.

"Good location"
It was good stay ...
Great hotel. We stayed in a two bedroom appartment. It was very nice, clean and spacious. The only problem was that the bathroom in master bedroom doesn't have a door.

"Parkside Victoria Spa & Resort Victoria, Canada"
This was our 2nd stay, 1st was 7 days, 2nd 4 days. Our 1st stay was in an upgraded room with a full oven. We weren't told about the upgrade! Since we had invited people for dinner on our 2nd stay we were surprised to find the room had only a cook top and we required an oven (expecting this room would be the same level as the one on our 1st stay). We […] explained our situation to the front desk and were finally provided a room with an oven for the one night we required. Read more
"highly recommended"
Where you have a front desk manager remember from a passing conversation that it is your childs birthday and to send a basket to his room, Is spetacular!.....I thought was above and beyond expectations. We even remember her name as Andrea! these guys are great and the rooms are superb!!! We will definitely go back.

"Will stay here again!"
Our stay at Parkside Victoria Resort and Spa was Great! The room was very comfortable and well equipped. Unlike any Hotel I have ever stayed in. It felt like you were staying in your weekend Condo! It's very close to everything your need in the Downtown, within walking distance, but still a very quiet neighborhood. I would have to say It's going to […] be hard to find a better place to stay when visiting Victoria. Read more
"Parkside Resort in Victoria."
This was a fantastic find. We had a long weekend with another couple and wanted to find a hotel that had adjoining rooms and found the Parkside. It was a 10 minute walk from the ferry and a 5 minute walk to the heart of Victoria’s Inner Harbor. The hotel has a beautiful atrium style lobby, restaurant, coffee shop, spa, pool, hot tub and exercise room. […] Our rooms were adjoining, with one room slightly larger than the other. Each room had a full kitchen, fully equipped, a dining space, a living room with a large flat screen TV and a bedroom with a large flat screen TV and a faux fireplace and balcony. One of the rooms had an extra bathroom with a clawfoot, soaking tub. The furnishings were stylish, modern and comfortable and the rooms had great views of Victoria and the Inner Harbor. We absolutely would stay here again, and would definitely make this our first choice, especially for the price. Read more

"The best place to stay in downtown Victoria"
Don't hesitate about booking this place. Great hotle , location, staff and everything else about it.
"Great convenient stay"
To put it simply - a large clean room, good facilities, close proximity to Victoria and very nice staff. Very happy with the experience. Would go back again.
"Parkside resort& spas in Victoria BC"
Very clean, modern, walkable to inner habour & around, love the pool, my kid love this hotel. We will stay there again when we come back to Victoria.
"Great for family fun"
Great room with one bedroom and pull out sofa. We enjoyed the location and walking distance to downtown. Will stay again!

"Great view and location, but"
The Victoria Parkside is in transtion, it is currently a great place to stay if your in Victoria to see the town and use your room at night. No room service, and a lean toward selling units vs. serving current guests is main issue we experienced. Once the hotel moves through this phase this Parkside will be closer to earning the ranking Hotels.com has […] listed. Read more
"Green as can be"
Very beautiful set up, well presented and welcoming, only stayed for 1 night would of loved to stay longer with all the facilities provided which is outstanding for what you pay for. Highly recommend the place for those looking to get away for a few days or weeks, located in the heart of victoria where everything is within walking distance. Not noisy […] and very natural setting with waterfall and very stylish contemporary design in its rooms. Definitely would come back again Read more
"Almost perfect"
Great Hotel. Supreme location if you don't mind not seeing water through your windows. All the best restaurants are less than 10 minutes on foot. Our favorite was Pescatores. Must say, the front desk seemed a bit understaffed at times, but overall very helpful. It was worth the wait because they booked us for Buchart Gardens and Whale watching right […] there. The kitchenette was surprisingly capable. We cooked breakfast every day. You'll be eating out anyways for the rest of your meals because there is so much good food in Victoria! Read more

What a great place! Like having your own apartment with amenities in the heart of Victoria. We plan to go back again.
"Wonerful experience"
Spacious, clean, great location. it was as if we had an apartment ! Definitely would retrun.
Beautiful suite on an upper floor, absolutely fantastic, really enjoyed the hotel, atmosphere and amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Parkside. Very close to walk to downtown and Inner Harbour ...
"Such a great place."
I only wish all hotels were like Parkside Victoria. Everything was just perfect. Great location. The quality and comfort exceeded my expectations.
"Parkside Resort in Victoria"
Really enjoyed the hotel, atmosphere and amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Parkside. Very close to walk to downtown and Inner Harbour attractions.
Our overall stay were wonderful but the hotel charges way too much for parking. This is the only hotel we've come across that charges $16 per day for parking.
"Parkside Victoria Resort and Spa"
Your website and the hotel website both said the room we reserved was a 2 bedroom suite with 2 king beds, 3-42" TVs, 2 fireplaces. When we checked in, we had a 2 bedroom suite with 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 32-36" TV, 2 18-20" TVs, 1 fireplace. There was no where in either description from Hotels.com or the actual hotel website that listed a room […] like we had. Very disappointed. The furniture was very dusty, and housekeeping did not replace towels or replinish toilet paper without asking. There was no coffee in the room and when we asked for it they told us they were out of it. We had to go out and buy our own coffee. The walls and doors were very thin, so the room was quite noisy. The thermostats could not be changed in the room, so it was quite warm except with all the windows open, but at night you had to close the windows because of all the noise from the street. The ceiling in the living room had leaked and it looked bad. Also from the leak, there were floor boards that were loose. The master bathroom had no door and only a tub with no shower. NO PRIVACY! You had to go to the other bathroom for a shower and privacy!!! Flushing the toilet was difficult sometimes because if you leaned back at all on the tank you moved the lid of the tank so the flushing mechanism did not line up with the push buttons on the lid and the toilet would not flush until you repositioned the lid. Very annoying! They only had one elevator working during our stay. It took forever to go down or up on the elevator. What a waste of time!! The hot tub was unbearably HOT!!! There were no towels in the women' shower room, so you had to go to your room dripping WET! We stayed for 3 nights and managed, but were very disappointed. We will probably not stay there again. "parkside- upscale, convenient, a few minor issues"
Room had everything we needed, especially the kitchen (Victoria is pricey), except was a little tight for family of 4. High ceilings made it feel a bit roomier. Very good, not fantastic, location- two or three blocks from shopping, inner harbor. Really liked the look, feel, modern design of hotel. Kids loved the goldfish pond in the lobby and outside. We […] didn't use the pool because it is more for adults swimming laps than for family fun (kids age 3 & 5), but was huge, so there may have been room for older kids that are taller. Has a movie theater that shows family movies in evening, which we didn't use, but I thought was a very nice touch. They also had an "iPad bar", which I didn't use, but sounded cool. Few minor negatives upon check-in; no full size towells, kitchen counters dirty, no bottles of water in fridge, and two light bulbs didn't work. They rectified the issues and took care of parking expense in exchange, which was perfectly acceptable to me. Appreciate them making a concession to ensure a pleasant experience. Concierge was only there until 5 PM, I believe, which didn't help us when checking in at 7:00 PM. Front desk was helpful both for restaurant recommendations and room needs. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, with top marks for the staff and for look & feel of hotel. Would recommend, and would likely stay again. Read more

Very good place to stay on Victoria
"Family Vacation in Victoria"
Parkside Victoria was lovely! The location was convenient - within walking distance to restaurants, sites and stores. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but the hotel did allow us to park our car in the garage so that we wouldn't have to pay for expensive street parking. The only downfall of the hotel - expensive daily parking fee. The person who […] checked us in was very kind and helpful. He even gave us tons of great suggestions for places to dine with kids. Once we finally got into our room we were very satisfied with the decor, cleanliness, view, and space. We appreciated having a refrigerator in the room so that we could store snacks and drinks. Also, since we were on vacation for a few weeks we accumulated a lot of dirty clothes. A great extra to the room was having a washer/dryer. It took a few hours to wash and dry one load, but it was still a big help to us. Their "handbook" says you can request laundry detergent, which I did. However, the front desk said they don't supply detergent for their guests. My question to her was, "Why is it stated in your handbook then?" She didn't have an answer except to tell me that there's a 7-11 a block away that sells single use detergent boxes. Oh well . . . During our stay we were able to use the fitness room, pool and movie theater. These were nice amenities to have onsite for the kids. The rooftop deck was also beautiful. We didn't use the space but just went up there to check it out. It's a great space to sit and read or even bbq! Had we known about this before our last night we may have taken advantage of the grill and saved a few bucks for lunch or dinner and had a "semi-homemade" meal. I would definitely stay at the Parkside Victoria again with my family. Read more
"Amazing hotel with mediocre service"
The Parkside Victoria is hands down one of the top 3 hotels I've ever stayed in. The suites are amazing and the hotel is located in a good location - very convenient to area attractions, but not right in the middle of them. The only thing holding this hotel back is the service. The front desk workers were rather unhelpful and didn't seem very concerned […] with guest satisfaction. Hotel check-in time is 4pm, and don't expect to check in a minute before that. I'd definately stay here again - but with lower expectations of service. Read more
Quick walk from the Victoria Clipper, a friendly and knowledgable concierge, fast service, and a decadent spa! So nice to have full use of the kitchen as well.
"Parkside Victoria Resort and Spa"
Attractive, conveniently located, very modern and safe hotel. The staff are professional and pleasant and the rooms are spotless with cooking and refrigeration available in each. The only drawbacks for some would be the "indefinitely" out of order hot tub and the lack of air conditioning in the rooms in this "green" hotel. It proved difficult to cool […] the suite, yet heat was quick to come on, even when it was not wanted, and the thermostat devices in the rooms have no effect, solely revealing the temperature. A business cable channel of any type was absent. Overall it is a fine place to stay and convenient to the main tourist interests. Read more

"Parkside Victoria - Great for families"
We stayed at the Parkside with our 11 month old daughter for a weekend trip to Victoria. It was really great to have a 1 bedroom suite and a full kitchen. The Parkside is an easy walk from downtown Victoria, so it is quick to get to the sites and many restaurants.
"great family hotel in a great location"
Comfortable, quiet, modern and spacious. All the amenities. We stayed in a 1- bedroom suite with a small patio overlooking an inner courtyard with waterfall ponds. Our 11 year old loved her sofabed in the living room & the large indoor hotel pool. Kitchen was perfect for cooking in occasionally although the hotel cafe was reasonably prices and delicious. […] Heated bathroom floors- nice. Hotel location is ideal- couple blocks from restaurants, shops, museums, wharf. We locked our bikes in the hotel bike room that was probably secure enough to forgo the locks. Staff were polite and helpful. A great retreat right in the city! We would stay here again. Read more

"Wow!"
What a wonderful surprise to find this elegant facility within walking distance to everything in Victoria harbor area. The staff is helpful, the rooms spacious (really an apartment) with w/d, full kitchen, etc. There was a balcony patio even! Would readily stay here again!

"Exceeded my expections"
loved the hotel, the room had everything we needed, including a washer dryer combo. We were able to have meals in the well appointed kitchen. I even bought throw away plates before I knew it came with the room. The location was within walking distance of the heart of the city. We also got a good deal on the 3 day stay, it was much cheaper than the other […] high end hotels. Read more
"Parkside Resort and Hotel in Victoria"
I stayed at the Parkside during a weekend trip to Victoria and it was absolutely perfect. The room was beautiful. Heated bathroom floors. Gorgeous tub. Beautiful kitchen. Amazing view of a historic park. A block away from the harbor and excellent restaraunts. Called the front desk to get a recommendation for a restaraunt and he booked a seat for me […] at a restaraunt that normally has a waiting list and looks out over the water at the sunset. I loved it there and would absolutely go back. The only thing it really lacked was a good restaraunt. The gourmet cafe was so/so. Read more
"Unbelievably Chic!"
We spent two nights in a luxurious 2 bedroom suite. The service was awesome, the locations was ideal and the cleanliness, style and overall experience was one of the best I have ever had traveling.
"Another underated hotel"
This hotel, more like a condo than a hotel, was high class. The location is ideal, rooms were very comfortable and clean. A great place to stay in Victoria.

"Great Escape"
My teenage daughters and I escaped to Victoria for a couple of days. Parkside was fantastic in every aspect. We felt like celebrities living in luxury. We would go back - but stay longer!
"Great Experience"
My new fiance and I went to Victoria, from Seattle via the Clipper boat. We stayed only one night at the Parkside Victoria, but wished we could stay longer because of how beautiful the place was. The concierge were very helpful in recommending local restaurants for our needs -- from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I proposed to my fiance at Butchart […] Gardens and we plan on returning here next year to celebrate our anniversary -- probably in the Summer though. Read more
"beautiful hotel"
I was so impressed with how beautiful our 2 bedroom suite was. There were so many little details that I appreciated - the decor was lovely (you didn't feel like you in a hotel), the granite counters, the wood floors, the down comforters, the awesome stand-alone tub, ipads for guests to use in the lobby, etc. Gorgeous and comfortable hotel - I could […] live there happily! Wonderful location and views from your balconies. Loved the pool and hot tub was very hot. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the mattress - a little hard, but hardly worth mentioning. I absolutely love this hotel. My husband and I couldn't stop talking about how nice it was - we will DEFINITELY be coming back! Read more
