This hotel is great! Our bathroom had heated floors, the maids did a great job in our room everyday, they keep the hot tub nice and hot and the employees are friendly. Make sure you request a room in the "B" tower, though. We were in "A" and had to walk across the hotel to get to the pool. The rooms in "B" are also nicer with two bathrooms instead of […] one and they had ovens in their kitchen and we didn't. Overall, great hotel and we'd love to visit again! "A nice peaceful resort in the Inner Harbor"
Quiet & peaceful. Once you enter you feel all your muscles relaxing. I am convinced they have a tranquilizer waffling through the air in there; or they just really know how to create a very relaxing ambience. Waterfalls, greenery, fountains, fish ponds, warm colors, no loitering people or staff, a spa, a gym, a pool, two fireplaces in your room, a full […] kitchen, a WASHER AND DRYER!!! A walk-in closet. How did they fit all that in a room? Genius. Will definitely come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and Cozy"
If you are traveling with kids, this is the perfect hotel. It is within walking distance to the Royal British Museum, Victoria Bug Zoo, Beacon Hill Park, and dozens of restaurants. Lovely, quiet neighborhood and plenty of things to help keep kids entertained - swimming pool, hot tub, movie theater, cafe with tasty menu. Having a washer/dryer in the […] room and kitchen was a plus. Rooms and staff were great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My two teens and I shared a one-bedroom suite last weekend. When we walked in the room, my daughter said "Wow! This is what my apartment is going to look like when I grow up!" We all loved the hotel! Our room was immaculately clean, comfortable furnished with a nice, firm bed. (The pillows were waaaay overstuffed - but that's really my only warning.) […] The lobby and pool were similarly beautiful and clean and the staff was lovely. Don't leave without eating in the attached bistro - it was our favorite food of all the meals we had. The grilled chicken sandwich with cabbage apple slaw was tender, moist, flavorful and interesting. A warm quinoa salad with chard satisfied the vegetarian and my son loved his spaetzle with Choux Choux bacon - whatever that is. We went back for breakfast - the quallity and the prices were that good! I've already recommended the hotel to two friends and would love to visit again. (Oh yes, proximity can't be beat - one block to the Royal B.C. Museum, three to Beacon Hill Park - easy to get anywhere by bus or on foort.) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Can Be Noisy, But Pretty Good Room Overall"
This is a green hotel, so it was built with the idea that guests would keep the windows open for circulation and/or cooling. There is no A/C unit in the city view rooms. Only the rooms that face the atrium actually have A/C. We went in March, so this really wasn't an issue for us as we kept the doors/windows open until we went to sleep. I can only imagine […] that this would be problematic in the summer since the hotel faces a somewhat busy street where there is traffic late into the night. For urban city dwellers, this might not be an issue but I live in the suburbs and I would find it hard to fall asleep. The room itself was great - it was pretty comfy for my family of 3. The bed comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 1 child. We made great use of the kitchenette for breakfast and dinner. The room does come with a small Washer/Dryer combo which, I think, a lot of people tend to overload (you can basically just wash 1 days worth of clothes in there, not a whole week). There is a pool which the kids can enjoy, and the hotel does show movies/sporting events in the small theater (which we didn't partake, but saw signs all over the place for it). Love the hotel. Second time we've stayed here with our children. Convenient to have enough room for them all to sleep comfortably. Also nice to have the kitchen so we did not need to eat out at each meal. We also loved the pool. Only thing that was a little of a nuisance this time was that the room was so hot..... was 24C!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great, comfortable, beautiful"
Our family of 4 (including two children under 5) plus a Grandma and Uncle stayed at the Parkside for three nights while visiting Victoria. We had a two bedroom suite. It doesn't get more comfortable than this place. Beautiful full kitchen, large dining area, balcony, two beautiful bathrooms, gas fireplaces in master bedroom and living room. Beautiful […] lobby and pool as well. We loved it! Our one and only complaint is that the laundry facility in the room was a combined washer/dryer. It took us several attempts to figure out how to use it and then after trying to dry a load of clothes for 2 days, we finally gave up. We also read every page of the lengthy instruction manual and still didn't get it. If you have a baby like us and need to wash clothes, you'll probably have to hang dry them unless our machine was broken or we just couldn't figure out what we were doing wrong. Despite that we will stay here again for sure! Awesome place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

we really enjoyed this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and our room was clean and comfortable. We came with a baby and it was easy to travel around with her.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worth the money"
Was really surprised by the luxuriousness of our suite. The bed was very comfortable and the closet was very specious. The hot chocolate in the expresso cafe downstairs is delicious. The hotel is very close to everything. About a 5-minute walk to Downtown and Beacon Hill Park. The hotel has a spa, pool, and a movie theatre.Genuine Expedia guest review
Front desk staff was superb, but house keeping seems to need a little help in what needs to be cleaned (i.e: the area rug under the coffee table and the hard surface floors) Other than that all was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff at the front desk were amazing, made the bride to be so special. We also forgot some toiletries and they had anything we needed. Will definitly be coming back again. Thank you to everyone at Parkside that made our stay so enjoyable!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were extremely clean and the floor plan was very comfortable. The fireplace in the bedroom and the living room were a pleasant surprise (I'm always cold!). We had a nice balcony and 2 bathrooms, one with a clawfooted tub. It was nice to be able to comfortably eat breakfast in the room with the kitchen supplies that were available, including […] fridge, stove, and all the necessary cooking and eating utensils. The only problem I ran into is that my computer couldn't connect to the free wifi, but the staff were able to supply me with a cord that ran to the back of the telephone, so I was able to access the internet eventually. "Great suite hotel."
The rooms are luxurious, tastefully decorated. The sheets are just yummy to crawl into.Genuine Expedia guest review
We appreciated the early Noon check in as Friday is date day and we are locals. It was great to enjoy the convenience of the city and not drive. We only have 2 comments that are slightly negative and that is there was no music on the TV that we could find (I had speakers on my IPhone and the Songza application so we overcame that) and the other is a […] design flaw. It's just strange to have the ensuite with an open toilet. However, we would stay again for sure! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hit and miss quality."
This hotel was hit and miss. The public areas were nice. Would have been better if they had a real restaurant instead of a coffee shop, but there are plenty nearby. Nice amenities, including unusual ones like a theater area. The 1 bedroom suite was spacious and very clean, with one of the best equipped hotel kitchenettes I've seen. The staff was friendly […] and helpful as well. But, you could tell that corners were cut. Marble counter tops matched with what look like Ikea cabinetry. The mattress was uncomfortable and didn't seem great quality.. There are two TVs, both Dynex (about the cheapest available, and working accordingly well), with the small one in the bedroom having a DVD player built in (and which therefore can't be used on the big one). Maintenance was extremely sub-par. The remote for the TV in the bedroom was the wrong one and couldn't operate the DVD player. The one in the other room didn't work at all. Multiple light bulbs out. The electric "fireplace" just about fell out of the wall if you touched it, and made annoying rattling sounds if you tried to use it. The combo washer/dryer (which should have been a great touch) was actually missing it's front door and so didn't work at all. Perhaps worst of all, the walls seemed paper thin. We could hear every word said in the next unit, and every scream from their children. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dirty! Will not stay at this hotel again"
There were good and bad things about the hotel, but for us there was more bad than good. The pool, hot tub and spa were great. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite and the beds were really comfortable (don't know about the sofa bed), but the room itself was dirty, the floor filthy. Also, there were no extra blankets in the room, and I froze the first night. […] I had to call customer service the next day to get more blankets. We asked the maid to leave extra towels and to take the garbage in the trashcans, but she did neither. There were also no towels in the pool/changing rooms two of the three times we went there. There were never any towels or wipes to wipe down the equipment in the gym. There were no ice machines in the hotel. We were told to use the ice trays in our room refrigerator, but they were so dirty we wouldn't use them. The furniture in the room was flimsy and chipped. The bathtub was made a cheap fiberglass and there wasn't even a place to put soap, much less shampoo. The "heated floors" only worked in one of the bathrooms. I couldn't believe the hotel was ony a few years old. Once you got past the nice looking lobby, the hotel looked much older. We received a really, really good deal on hotels.com. However, if we had paid the normal rate we would be livid. If you want clean, do not stay at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful front desk staff! Beautiful atrium lobby"
Arriving after 10:00 P.M. I was still greeted warmly, and the front desk greeted me me like a family friend. Smiles were abundant. Just as nice as they could be. I needed some dinner after a long day of traveling. They were very helpful in directing me to a few very nice places within walking distance of the hotel. The only thing I thought could have […] been done was having a bell hop take me to my room the first time. I wandered a little it before finding it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A very nice place to stay"
Our second stay at Parkside Victoria and again the suite is clean, nicely furnished and roomy. Upgrade to an outside balcony room was worth the extra $$ - nice view of holiday lights at night. Great bath towels and very comfy beds - don't usually sleep well in hotels but slept just like at home. A few blocks back from the "action" on Gov't Street provides […] a nice break. Getting in and out from the underground parking with the car was safe and easy too! "Great "Green" Hotel"
Although this hotel does not provide a "warm, fuzzy" atmosphere it is a great place to stay. We liked the fact that it is a "green" hotel. We stayed in a king bed room. The rooms are very clean and fresh. Definitely within walking distance to downtown, which is a plus. On the negative side, the neighbors are close-by and this can make for a lot of noise. "Couldn't ask for much more"
It was a wonderful time. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We made good use of the pool and even better use of the in-house theater! What a feature to have in your hotel. "Glad we gave it a try.."
Stayed at this hotel during a recent dive trip up to Victoria and had a great time. The staff were incredibly helpful and we found the two-bedroom suite to be much more than we expected. The only things missing were a view of the inner harbor and a "Do Not Disturb" tag for the door so that we could have let the cleaning staff know that we didn't need […] the room "tidied up" during the day. Overall I found the hotel to have the same level of class as the Hotel Grand Pacific down the ways (our home for the previous two years), but a different style; more eco-chic than opulent. There is a lot to like about this hotel. Rooms are comfortable, there is an onsite restaurant that you can dine in or take food up to your room, great Spa onsite and walking distance to shopping and sites. Would recommend the City Club Suites (on high floors).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Within walking distance to attractions"
Overall the hotel was very nice. The washing machine in the room was broken and we were told there were parts on order. "Good Business/Pleasure Locale"
I have stayed at the Parkside a number of times. A great place with easy walking for my wife to shop and meander whie i accomplish my task of having discusssions with architects and glass contractors on high rise window construction. It's fairly easy to tool around town in my case. The only drawback has been and was so in prior visits was the internet. "Convenient, clean design, interesting, condo-like"
Being a LEED facility was nice. It required learning how some things worked - like the heating in the bathroom floors, vent-by-windows only, remote control fireplaces, some lighting. Very clean design, but took some getting used to. Nice leather furniture - but sofa and easy chair were uncomfortable for all of us - too hard and orthogonal. Well equipped […] kitchen. Master bath was odd and inconvenient due to no door for privacy. Also, old-fashioned tub was nice but way too deep and narrow. Would stay here again if it is still a good deal. Exceptionally well maintained, up-to-date, and modern. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't fall for the "upgrade""
Horrible experience. We did not get the room we reserved. We reserved the best room they had, a 2 bedroom club suite, which has city views on a top floor. What we got was an "upgrade," as they called it, to an adjoining 1 bdrm dlx and 1 bdrm luxury at the back of the hotel facing the back of 2 other apartment...not on a top floor, no view of the city […] at all, not the same accommodations. I asked the front desk why we were in separate but adjoining 1 bdrm rooms, I was told we were upgraded. I asked what the “upgrade” was, and was told it was getting 2 rooms with more space. I went to their website, compared what we were supposed to get and what we received...not the same. I showed the front desk guy my ipad with the room we reserved and the rooms we received, he said I was wrong, we did receive an upgrade and we got a better deal with more sq footage. I didn’t care about sq footage. I showed him on their website the price was more for the room we reserved, than the upgraded rooms, and the tems missing from the rooms we were in, compared to the room we reserved. He was frustrated and asked me...what do you want, you want me to see if we have a club ste available? Uh, YES, I want the room we reserved. This was 445pm, 45min after check in time...come to find out, they were all sold out of the club suite. Seriously, they sold out of their club suite in 45min??? The experience was a total joke. We were very, very satisfied with everything. Who could ask for more from a hotel! Everything a traveler would want to experience. And it's location was perfect for touring the sites of Victoria. We definitely would choose to stay at the Parkside again. Thanks so much for making our stay so enjoyable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
At first the hotel had a wonderful feel, but when you looked closer there were a lot of flaws. It just wasn't being properly maintained. Many things just either did not work, and/or cheap fixtures & furnishings had already been sufficiently worn. While the pool was very nice, there were piles & piles & piles of used towels & by the time my sister-in-law […] arrived (15 minutes after me) there were none. "Whoops the pool/spa is closed!"
Only problem was that the pool and spa were being cleaned/repaired or whatever and not available for our use. They had made arrangements with another hotel to allow their residents to use the other hotels pool but it was an inconvience, Should they not have forewarned us of the upcoming pool maintenance? But other than that, we loved the property.Genuine Expedia guest review

We loved the location and the staff were very helpful. The only problems we had were not the staff's fault but operational. The card keys were not working properly, the gate to the parking garage was broken and the pool was being cleaned so we could not use it. "Beautiful rooms, very clean"
We arrived and were told the air conditioning was not working, the pool & spa were down for maintainence, and we would need to share one key card between four adults. Not a good beginning. Most places would have offered a discount or something but all we got was a "sorry." They had arranged for the use of the pool at The Empress but we had no car and […] it was quite a hike back and forth so we did not use it. Once they realized we would be bothering them to let us in the room on a regular basis, they managed to come up with four key cards. It was summer and too warm in our 5th floor room. We all got a bit sweaty at night and it was noisy with the windows open. However the room was beautifully decorated and well designed and equipped. It was large and very clean. We would stay here again if the air conditioning were working. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Door Key Entry"
There were key card problems, ( New Key Box was ordered and being shipped) however keys cards were not being read in doors to rooms. So no one could get into their rooms without going back down getting new key cards made at the desk or having someone to come up with the Master key in which case you would wait in line to get into your room. This you […] would have to go through everytime you left the room. This was a inconvenience, but not a deterant from booking with the Hotel again. The Staff were very helpful. The only other inconvenience was the pool was closed for maintenance during our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
