Hotel was nice enough, especially for the price. It was just off of the interstate, but noise wasn't a problem. Staff was courteous. Breakfast was just... mediocre, nothing special. Husband went down midway through the breakfast period and there was no waffle mix available. Ended up driving about 3 miles to a Dunkin Donuts for breakfast (opposite direction from the port). They did offer cruise parking with free shuttle that wasn't listed on the booking website, buy we chose to park at the pier for convenience. by cathy from Hamilton, GA on 05/05/13

Just wanted you all to know that we stayed at the Quality Inn and Suites near Fairgrounds Ybor city for our cruise out of Tampa. They were very friendly and helpful. There was a breakfast that wasn't bad (not great, just good). They had B&G but no scrambled eggs or bacon. But, […] the good thing was they took you right to the port for only $15. Nice place but very hard to find. It was only about 10 minutes from the airport and right off the highway - but kind of hidden behind another hotel. We arrived from a late flight and were greeted promptly and got into our room quickly. Good basic night's stay.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even provided me with a phone charger because I had left mine at home! Leftover cigarette butts and ashes had not been cleaned in the room. Housekeeping seems a bit lax.

When I found the hotel and was checking in, I was not that excited about going to the room. The front staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel looked older than I thought it would be. I went to my room and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and updated. My only issue was with the bed spread. It is one that does not get washed for […] each guest. I was really impressed with how nice the hotel was for the price. Rooms we clean and updated, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good. Although the neighborhood is not the best, the way the hotel is situated, it is hardly noticeable. Very close to downtown, ybor, and the casino and they have shuttle service available.

The good: The hotel is a great value for the price. Stayed one night pre- cruise and was impressed with the staff, the cleanliness of the facility and the room condition. Super comfy queen sized beds! First time I've stayed at Quality Inn and I would again. The medium: The breakfast buffet. Not a lot to pick from but it was decent. The bad: The surrounding […] area. We noticed after we checked in that evening that the only places to get a sit down meal in the general area were fast food only. Hotel is in good shape, but the hallways smelled sour and the neighborhood is one of the worst in Tampa. The city was under a boil water advisory when we arrived but we were not told by the desk staff not to drink the water. Thankfully we did not and only found about the warning at a local restaurant. Love this little hotel! I've stayed here before. It's close to the casino and you don't have to pay a ridiculous price for the room. The hotel has gone through an extensive remodel and you can tell! Almost looks new! Our room was comfortable, clean and the staff is very friendly. Great place for a night or two or more!

Hotel is an oasis in the midst of highways and byways. Long hallways remind me of dorms or even worse. Esthetically from the inside and the surrounding neighborhood it leaves lots to be desired.Security guard and locks to enter all hotel lobbies and room area says it all. I would not stay here again.Good price and clean rooms but that's all.

Loved the hotel &staff. The hotel and grounds were well kept. I was a little skeptical upon arriving because it didn't seem like a good neighborhood, but no problems in the hotel or on grounds. Was approached at a nearby gas station by people asking for money on more than one occasion.

The hotel is not situated in the best part of town, but we needed to stay near Ybor for the knights parade and this was a perfect location at an affordable rate. The room was very clean, and quite large (I booked the king bed suite with living room + sofa bed). Service was great, the pool looked decent but we didnt use, and they offered a respectable […] quality continental breakfast. Our safe was locked when we arrived. Called the front desk three times in an hour and was told "someone will be right up." No one ever showed. The paint job in our room was embarrassing. Two different colors and two different palates (one was glossy, the other flat) all on one solid wall. We asked to use the shuttle and was told we could not because […] "it was full." However, the shuttle driver said we could ride, he was empty. Very confusing. Front desk staff not very friendly. Very slow to check people in. Did not show us where our room was, just jaded us keys and said "you're on the second floor." We will not use Quality Inn again. Read more
