VOYAGER INN - St Ignace

The hotel is in a great location, was able to check in late. the room was clean enough, and did not smell. Bedding was not nice at all and a little on the old tattered side. The continental breakfast was really sad. We ended up going to McDonalds down the street.

the voyager was a comfortable, convenient hotel in st. ignace. while they offer a continental breakfast, i'd recommend that you pass. non-smoking rooms may have likely been smoking rooms under the old mgmt... the rooms were a bit mustty. overall, i would recommend the motel, as it was a good value and acceptable for the UP.

Staff was super friendly, room was spacious and reasonable. Our only complaint was that the blankets on both beds were threadbare. The binding was partially torn off on my blanket and had a big loop that my foot got tangled in getting out of bed in the morning. My friend's blanket actually had areas where you could see thru the blanket, it was so worn. […] I'd stay there again and hope they purchase new blankets! Very easy to find, lots of parking, We booked a non smoking room and when we went into the room it smelled like old smoke so we asked for another room and we were accomodated without any problems. Roomy bathroom. We were on our way to Northern Canada and just needed a nice inexpensive place to spend the night.

We checked in to the Inn very late and the desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The Inn was easy to find, easy in and out, and convenient to many area restaurants and attractions. The free continental breakfast had the usual selection of cereals, muffins, fruits and etc.. The Inn was slightly run down, which appears fairly normal for the area unless […] you get into higher priced lodgings. Our room was poorly maintained, but appeared relatively clean, until I pulled down the comforter and a roach scuttled out. I was able to kill it after a struggle, and didn't see any more. Being that it was now after 1am the staff was all gone and the chance of finding other lodgings was slim, so we stayed put. To be fair, I talked to some locals and they said roaches were virtually unheard of in the area, so maybe my little friend came in with someone else. Regardless, the room was prepaid the night before, and at check out you just drop your keys into a little box. So of course the staff was not around, and couldn't be made aware of our problem. The pool and hottub were in working order and available from 8-11 p.m. The continental breakfast had lots to choose from-fruit, bagels, English muffins, cereal, and boiled eggs. The hotel was quiet. This place wasn't worth it. The smell of the pool chlorine was intense. The pool wasn't maintained well. The room itself was barebones and the beds were horrible and need to be replaced. The staff was fine but the room itself was poor. I would not recommend this.

A cheap hotel room is fine as long as it's clean. This place has big issues. Our first room, the toilet was filthy, so they moved us to another. This one had a very bad odor. They put us in yet a third, which was better, but had hair on the bathroom floor, popcorn and grime smashed between the mattress and box springs, and popcorn ground into the carpet […] under the bed. The remote was covered with popcorn grease. Gross. The beds are old and squeaky, but okay. One had three huge cigarette burn holes in the comforter. This hotel is definitely a good value. I only gave it a 3 for cleanliness because I'm not convinced the bedspread was washed anywhere near recently. I didn't really want to sit on it. Other than that everything was great. The pillows were on squishy side. The indoor pool was a lot of fun for my 5 year old.

We were very happy with our weekend stay at the Voyager Inn. First of all, the location could not be more convenient... It's right off the highway, about one minute from the bridge and one minute from St. Ignace. We were greeted with free popcorn on our arrival, which was a nice surprise after the long car ride. We stayed here one night before heading to the Island. It was the least expensive at the time and we were coming in late so we took it. It was very nice for the money. The staff was friendly, rooms clean. It had a small town atmosphere.

The hotel was wonderful and a great price, good value. Just a note though...Don't reserve the handicapped accessible room. It is located directly across from the ice machine that ran non stop. Also, everyone passes by your room to get to the wonderful pool. Otherwise, I will definately stay again.

For the price it was a steal. Clean room and lobby. Free continental breakfast for 4 was worth the cost of the hotel room :) Location was extremely convenient for getting back on I-75 and heading home. Only downside was that the mattresses were a bit old and squeaky but still comfortable enough after a long drive.
