Location location location. a block off rambles and quiet. the open air market is right behind the hotel. walking distance to all the central attractions and metro right across the street. cleanliness, quiet and nice stafff. i would get breakfast elsewhere, though.I would stay again

The hotel's location, on a reasonably quiet street off the Rambla, cannot be beat. One can walk to so many interesting places in Barcelona that are nearby. The lobby is large for a hotel that is rather small, and the downstairs breakfast room is spacious and well-supplied with a variety of foods. My greatest complaint is the size of the room, barely […] sufficient for two people with large suitcases. There were no luggage racks in the room, nor were there racks for towels. Having stayed in several hotels in Europe, I am well aware that shower facilities can be quirky, but this shower was extremely difficult to control. First, The area osf the Hotel is bad in that the hotel requires you to buzz the attendant to get in because of the crime levels. The staff is excellent and helpful in most cases. We had a room on the top floor and could hear EVRYTHING being said and done in the stret below. WHen I asked to be moved to a quiet room, the night attendant asked me to ask […] the morning manager as she had no authority to change us. When I spoke to the manager the next morning, he claimed that "NO ONE HAD EVER COMPLAINED OF THE NOISE!" and would not change us as the rooms all front on that or the next street! With the windows closed, you could understand the people talking on the street due to the closeness of the buildings and every traffic noise kept us awake. The other matter was that they disengage the fan and cooling system in November until May! No choice. It was very humid when we arrived and there was no circulation! They would not do anything to help and had no fans. Opening the window did not provide any breeze! Very warm and uncomfortable! Great location. Two minute walk to Las Ramblas, 10 minutes to waterfront. Very clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Next door to pastry shop where for a few Euros you can get a nice ham sandwich, coffee and all kinds of sweets. We also walked all the way and back to Sagrada Familia about 4 miles roundtrip. Street in front of hotel is cleaned […] twice a day by the municipal workers. Suggest you take a taxi to and from the airport which will run around 30 Euros each way as long as it is not rushhour. Hesperia Ramblas was as the photos depicted. The staff was very courteous attentive and helpful. The location was 1 block off of La Ramblas so I imagine it was quieter than anything right there. There are always some sounds in the area as windows need to be open to cool the unfair conditioned room. The room was clean neat and comfortable.

Hotel is right between La Rambla and La Boqueria market - location is great. You can walk to lots of shops, markets, restaurants, etc. as well as to the waterfront or to Plaza Cataluyna. In a great location steps away from La Rambla and steps away from the mercado "La Boqueria". Room is very small but it is comfortable enough for 1-2 people. Staff is friendly and will help with dinner reservations, directions etc. Only negative comment is the WI-FI.....terrible connection but that goes for many hotels in the area.

The location was great, close to La Ramblas, the Port and Metro stations. Downside, the area was pretty noisy, the hotel only had 2 English speaking stations included in the cable TV network and the free Wi-Fi rarely worked. However, for the price I would stay there again.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Barcelona, Spain and wanted to stay in a place close to Las Ramblas. We found Hesperia Ramblas at a relatively low cost (compared to other hotels) in a great location. The hotel is a small hotel (4 or 5 floors) situated about 1block away from Ramblas. It took us less than a few minutes to reach Las Ramblas and maybe […] at most 10 minutes to reach Cataluna Square. The area contains many many places to eat and about a block away you can find a convenience store. The location is far enough away to not hear noise from Ramblas and close enough to really enjoy the area without hailing a taxi. Hotel staff spoke fluent english and were very helpful in recommending areas of attraction, etc. Overall, the experience was great. We will definitely look to stay in the same hotel if in the area. The location is close to everything, but off the main road enough so it is quiet. We got in about 4 hours before check-in time, but the staff worked hard to get us in as quickly as possible. The double (or king) bed is two twins pushed together, which worked out just fine; however, they are very, very firm. There is nothing soft in this hotel room..expect […] the pillows which were wonderful! There were 2 english channels on the TV and one (the Disney channel) that was in english part of the time. The bathroom was a bit moldy, and the shower part sprayed erratically. You had to hold it in your hand the entire time to avoid spraying the ceiling. The staff speaks english and is very helpful. McDonalds and KFC are a short walk away (go to Las Ramblas and take a right...about two blocks down) which really made my husband happy! But nothing opens until 11 o'clock. We only stayed there one night before our cruise and we stayed at another hotel one night after our cruise. In comparison, Hisperia Ramblas seems to be your typical hotel in Barcelona...watch what you pay, because the price we paid did not match the quality of the hotel. As for taxis, expect to pay 30 euro from the airport, and 30 euro to the cruise port from Hisperia Ramblas. If you want to see Gaudi park or la Sagrada familia, get to know the public transport system because they are about 20-25 euro away. Food, tourist shopping, and the market (with AWESOME fresh juice) are all within a 5-10 minute easy walk from the hotel. But remember where the hotel is because there are no big signs pointing you in the direction and it kind of blends in to the surroundings. Also, always turn left out of the hotel...don't turn right...especially at night. Read more
