"One if best hotels we have ever stayed in!"
Never used our car during entire stay. Excellent restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. Food at Charleston Place very good also!! Can't wait to go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful experience. The pool area is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the hotel is kept in great condition.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Club Level amenities make all the difference."
When we visit Charleston, we always stay at the Charleston Place on the Club Level. The food is excellent and the concierge/wait staff are top notch.Genuine Expedia guest review
First timers and we loved the Charleston Place. We've never stayed in a hotel where you are so welcomed and all staff have a smile on their faces and go out of their way to be helpful. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and we recommend the Thiroughbred Club for drinks and appetizers! We will return as soon as we can!Genuine Expedia guest review
"you can have it all"
Oh you want a hotel that's right in the heart of downtown and walking distance to the market and almost all the good dining spots? BAM! There you go. You want an awesome pool with a sliding glass atrium, an incredible spa to get a massage, great shopping, a great place for drinks and jazz? How about if that's all within the hotel? SHAZAM! All here.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fabulous hotel in perfect Charleston location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location. Big and a little tired."
The E&O people know how to set premium pricing but the hotel itself feels more like a tarted up Hilton. Services at the hotel are all a la carte and everything is way over priced. The spa, the breakfast, the internet are all costly. There is no lobby or decent guest only waiting area at all. The shopping mall extends out to both ends of the lobby so […] the overall experience is not luxury hotel but high end shopping center without places to sit and meet -- even when waiting for transportation. The walk from the elevator to the rooms is interminable. There's an 80s convention vibe to the hotel which is at odds with the wonderful surroundings right in the middle of town. The concierge leaves at 5PM. The staff generally is minimal even during "working" hours. The hotel is really pushing all the limits on 5 stars. Not what you would expect from a luxury brand. This was as nice as any hotel I have stayed in (including a number of Hilton and Ritz Carlton stays). The Club level upgrade was worth every penny. The location in Charleston was excellent and easily within walking distance or a bike-rickshaw ride to almost anything you would want to see.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel in downtown Charleston"
Our stay was great - we especially liked the 8th floor club lounge where the food and drink were delicious and complimentary. The staff were very helpful as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great location - average room"
I thought the overall appearance of the hotel was incredible. It was ideally located. The pillows were tiny and not comfortable by any means. The worst part is the air conditioning. It was limited at best. We awoke every single night because it was so hot. I noticed other complaints about the AC. I believe them!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Deep in the heart of Charleston"
You can't ask for a better central downtown location than at Charleston Place. Nearly all activities tourists are interested in visiting in the city are a few steps outside the door, or nearby. The hotel is very well maintained and comfortable, with lots of amenities such as a small gym and large indoor/outdoor swimming pool (retractable roof). "Beautiful hotel inthe heart of Charleston."
It was a family weekend with my son, his wife and their two young adult sons. The hotel was a perfect setting for us to spend time together before the oldest grandson ships out (Navy) on an aircraft carrier. The lounge on the top floor was a delight and contributed to several hours of conversation and laughter.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wounerful weekend at the Charleston Place Hotel."
Felt small and intimate yet with gorgeous amenities and very helpful staff. Especially in spa and the bell staff. Will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great downtown hotel with modern amenities"
Great location for staying in downtown Charleston. Everything is within walking distance. Nice and quiet rooms, large bathroom. Staff was friendly and the landscaping around the hotel so beautiful. "Stay in Charleston"
We were in Charleston for only one day. He certainly made a great choice of staying at Charleston Place. The room was beautiful and very clean. We also had dinner in the Charleston Grill ( in the hotel as well ) which was a great meal. We stayed in a junior suite which had plenty of room for 3 people. The accomodations and dinner were a bit pricey, […] but you get what you pay for. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel in the center of all the energy."
My first trip since 1952. The Hotel was the highlight of all the wonderful experience we enjoyed.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is lovely, and the room was spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom was particularly well appointed. Only complaint was the AC unit in the room was very loud, and it woke us up several times during the night, when it cycled on/off. Engineer came to inspect but said nothing could be done. Should have switched rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the middle of it all"
Downtown close to all & great hotel great staff. Wonderful ambiance. A little pricy but worth it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Top Notch Hotel"
We stayed for 2 nights over the past weekend and really appreciated the service of the hotel staff. We were moving our daughter into college and were in/out multiple times with cars and packages and the staff made it very easy for us. Additionally, we had a late night dinner in the bar area that was just excellent. The waitress was so accomodating to […] us, and food was delicious. Lastly, I left a pair of earrings in the room and called the hotel a few hours after checking out. The security staff was very helpful and responsive. Can't wait to come back here. "Easily the Most Disappointing Hotel Experience"
As a consultant for more than 13 years, I have spent well over 1,000 nights in hotels, yet my recent 4-day stay at the Charleston Place was my most disappointing hotel experience ever. At $300/nt I had certain expectations, but CP dropped the ball on things I would expect from a $89/nt room at Courtyard. The tone was set when we first checked in. I […] was taking my wife, and 2 teens to Charleston for Spring Break and booked 1 room with a queen bed and 1 with two doubles. When we arrived, both our rooms had a pair of double beds. I went down to the desk and politely showed them my confirmation with one of the rooms having a queen…and what I heard next absolutely blew me away. It was a lesson on how NOT to treat customers. They agreed that when I booked the rooms more than 2 ½ months earlier, they did confirm a queen bed, but it seems that that was really just confirming that I had requested such a room, not that they would even try to get me one (my conversation with the CP manager eerily similar to an old Seinfeld bit on rental car reservations). As it turned out, there are a couple of different levels of confirmations: 1) the level that I made (actually called “Deluxe”), and 2) another level, never offered to me, that for a mere $30/nt/rm more, would actually quasi-guarantee that they would try to give the room type they confirmed. Unbelievable! Well, I have other complaints – broken A/C, rude concierge, etc. – but they only give me 1500 characters. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convienence and comfort"
Visited the College of Charleston with my family and stayed at Charelston Place on the Club level. I can find no flaws with this hotel and will definetly stay again. The friendlyness and subtle luxury was wonderful. The food on the club level was excellant and service was outstanding. This is a hotel that actually delivers on its reputation.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel, pillows were uncomfortable bring your"
Overnight stay for shopping and food, nice hotel, a lot of things to do that are within walking distance. Parking is $14 a night for hotel guests. We stayed in a junior suite, which was nice and big.Genuine Expedia guest review

"4.5 out of 5"
Room was beautiful and the bed was incredible. The only negative thing about the hotel is that the walls were paper thin and the people in the suite next to us were extremly loud.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay in Charleston"
This is a wonderful hotel. Location is superb and you would have to try really hard not to have a wonderful experience here. The only issue that I couldn't believe happened was a bell hop who let the folks off of the elevator along with the bags he was assisting with, only to let the elevator door slam shut on us while we waited and were trying to get […] one (and he saw us waiting on our floor). Just a lack of courtesy that C.P. should review with their staff... but this is a first class place and would recommend to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel in the Heart of the Historic Distric"
Great staff who made us want for nothing. You couldn't ask for a better location in Charleston. It is right in the middle of all the great shopping, dining, and history that Charleston has to offer. This is our second time staying at this property and we are already planning for our trip back again next year!Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The restaurants and bars were excellent, but pricey, even by New York standards.Genuine Expedia guest review
"In for one night to see Seinfeld"
Decent experience but not what expected from such a highly rated hotel. No free water bottles in the room. The toilet ran all of the time. Dirty old showerhead.Genuine Expedia guest review
Charleston Place is in a great location in the center of downtown. We did not need to use our car for the 3 days we were there. Upon check-in we were offered to stay on the concierge floor (for an extra charge of course), but it was really worth it. I travel constantly and stay in hotels all the time. While this is a beautiful property with an excellent location, it is not worth what they charge. "Beautiful hotel in downtown Charleston"
Perfect location—right near Market Street and opens up onto King Street. Not too far from the harbor. Grab a bike and you can make it to any point of interest in the city faster than most cars.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Charleston Place is in the historic district and walking distance to many attractions. The hotel is wonderful - it is kept very clean- the housekeeping team does a nice job, the front desk and bellstand team are vey cordial and helpful. Valet parking is $29, but if you park the car yourself it is $14 per day in the lot next door. We decided to park […] it ourselves. The hotel restaurant for breakfast is very good and the service is terrific. There are many shops in the atrium and right out side is the market - a must if you like to shop.
