"NO COMPLAINTS"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
I was not disappointed in any way. The location was easy to get to and a magnificient view from the room of Niagara Falls set the tone for the whole weekend. Dinning was great and service was above my expectations. What more can I say.
"great experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
great hotel with phenomenal service from the front desk staff. i noticed there were no robes in our room and mentioned it to the front desk as we left to visit the falls just so they were aware and i wouldnt get charged for them. i told them i really didnt need them. when we came back, there were 2 robes in the room, fresh cookies on the desk, new chocolates on the headboard, the bed was remade, and there was a hand-written note. could not have been happier with the stay
"Great location and large suits."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel was reasonably priced and a two minute walk from the falls! The rooms were nice (King sized beds!) but watch out for extra charges...they will charge you a hefty rate at the end of your stay for just one nights parking.

Big attractions accompany the big falls experience in Canada. Fallsview Indoor Water Park, one of the continent’s largest, sits at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge. Nearby, MarineLand Canada features killer and beluga whales. Gamblers can chose between Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort, one of Canada’s largest. On a clear day, visitors can see Toronto atop the 520-foot Skylon Tower.

Very helpful staff, close to all attractions so you save on packing. Parking is expensive and most streets are restricted.
"Scottish Inn..."
You can't beat this for the price. It's not fancy and could use a little clean up here and there but the guys who run the place are very nice and the bed was clean and comfortable. The location is great, if the view is not (close to the Falls but beside a factory). Maybe not conducive to romance but if you just need a warm bed and a shower without a […] lot bells and whistles you can't beat this for the price. Read more
"You get what you pay for"
Not a bad hotel, but not really a great one either. If you want a scary somewhat creepy slightly dirty place to stay a night for cheap, you found the right place.
"Terrible"
As much as we would like to provide positive feedback, in this case it simply it not possible. The following issues was our experience; - windows that do not lock - no fire alarm (removed) - re-sued and re-filled shampoo containers - NO HEAT (breaker continually to shut off heat) - no toilet paper - no wash clothes - trash (bottle caps and plastic […] 6-pack holders on floor - dirty sheets - EXTREMELY un-safe location - 1 out of 4 lights in bathroom worked - Receptionist / front desk person MIA after 7pm immediately after we arrived. Sign on door hand written white lined paper "returning at 11 a.m. tomorrow) Could go on. We recommend driving 2 blocks over to the Days Inn for an addition $20.00. Read more

"Not bad for 1 night stay"
This hotel may be recommended for those who travel from the US by car. It's located right across the border, not far from main tourist attractions, and will do the job if you need a place to sleep over. For longer stays, and especially if you're with kids, look elsewhere.
"Hotel close to the Falls but not too close"
Just 5 minutes away by walk from the main street of Niagara. Allows to stay away from the noise of the crowd without being far from the Falls. A really good location :)
"To Hot"
No A/C, rarely needed, Except the night I stayed there. Great location easy walk to every where ! Great Price.
"Scottish Inn Niagra Falls"
They should have paid us to stay there. It was in a state of disrepair and not clean. There was mildew in the bathroom. The air conditioner smelled. I don't think they csleanrd around or under the bed in years. I slept in my clothes. Thank goodness there were no bed bugs. Im surprised hotels.com has a place like this listed.
"A Cool place to stay"
Scottish Inn is a great place to stay for a short term visit. We had a clean room and the manager was very nice to us. He was always there when we needed him. The location is very convenient for a nice walk to the Niagara Falls. We got our money's worth . Just what we expected.
"It worked for a night"
We arrived around 2pm and just laughed when we saw the neighborhood its in. very rough and not excited about nightfall in that area. Thankfully we stayed out a long deal because i was in no hurry to get back there. only a 5 min. walk down to clifton hill and we heard many screams and fighting all night. guess you cant have it all! This hotel is far […] from basic its basically ok to suffer through the night. May I advise: drink heavily! Read more
"Scottish Inn-bad hotel in bad neighborhood"
We booked the hotel based on price and location (close to falls & tourist area). Although the hotel is indeed within 2 blocks of the Clifton Hill area, the hotel itself is extremely old and outdated, and the immediate area around the hotel is very run down (it sits across from the local cereal manufacturing plant). Our room had no phone, several lamps […] with missing lightbulbs and the decor was mismatched, right down to 3 small very worn out towels & the assortment of shampoo/soap in the bathroom from other hotels. On the plus side, the folks at the front desk were nice, wireless internet connection was good, and it really is a 2 minute walk to the Clifton Hill attraction area. Overall, way overpriced for our one night stay. Read more
"Great Location and Friendly Staff"
My wife and I booked this hotel last minute, it was because of the previous reviews that sold us. It was maybe a 5-10 minute walk to the tourist district near the falls and maybe 10-15 minute walk and you're right in front of the American Falls. When we checked in the clerk was very polite, even on our last day we wanted to do more activities around […] the falls and even when we checked out he still let us leave our car parked in their parking lot. I would recommend this hotel if your just looking for a clean bed, hot shower and great location near the falls. Read more

"Comfortable and close enough for a short stay"
The Scottish Inn was comfortable, clean enough and close enough to the falls. Our driver from the Niagara Airport had never been there, but it was right at the top of Clifton Hill (about a 10 minute walk to the bottom of the hill). Even though there is not breakfast provided, we got a breakfast coupon to a restaurant close by ($4.95 for two eggs, meat […] and toast). All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. One of the men drove us to the bus station when we wanted to take the bus to Toronto the third day of our stay. The air-conditioner worked brilliantly, the tv was just fine (if you're using your vacation to watch tv you need to get a life anyway), and they consistently asked us if we needed anything at all. Although you are not going to live in the lap of luxury during your stay, it is just fine if all you're going to do is sleep in the hotel. The one complaint is the area; it's kind of industrial and there is a Post/Kraft factor really close by which smells like rice when you walk by. Kind of weird, but not off-putting. Read more

"Cheap and Close"
For a cheap motel within walking distance to the falls, it's not bad. I won't stay here again because we have three small kids and it wasn't what we were looking for...their "pool" is non-existent and a lot of the things online are not actually there. But the room was fine. It was clean and close to the falls and they have free parking. No breakfast […] or ice or pool or really much of anything, but if you really just want a clean, affordable place to sleep, this can work. We almost left as soon as we pulled in, but I'm glad we stayed... Read more
"Not too bad"
A basic motel. No frills. Great location. Great front desk staff. Great rate. We would stay there again.

"Very cheap, good for short stays."
Very cheap motel, just 10 minute walk from the Falls down hill. The surroundings are not vey beautiful, but altough not luxurious this motel itself is good enough for a couple of nights.
"You get what you pay for."
For the cost, it isn't bad. But the room only had two medium sized towels, no hand towels or washcloths. Also, the mini soaps were from various other hotels and the lotion was used. There was no remote for the TV (local channels only). The bed was clean, the air conditioner was ice cold and it wasn't far from the falls and tourist attractions. If all […] you plan to do in your hotel room is sleep, it's not a bad spot to stay. Read more
"GOOD FOR 1 NITE"
Good location, Expected quality. For staying one night, it is enough for u.
"Reccomended if you do not want to pay more"
old furniture and old bathroom, Clean and very close to the entertainment area of Niagara. nice staff. make sure you have clear directions to arrive as the hotel is not on a main street. we only used it to sleep for 5 hours so it was OK for us. you get what you pay for.

"Scottish Inns Near the Falls & Casino"
The attendants were very nice and personable upon arrival. The room wasn't super nice, but it is a cheap hotel, so it was expected. During the day we walked to the falls (a walk, but still pretty close) and came back around 11:30pm. The shower was very slippery and I fell when trying to take a shower. While I was falling, the other person in my party […] had to answer the door to an attendant telling us to make sure we lift the toilet handle up after we flush it or it will overflow. The money was very good, but it could use a LOT of renovation. Read more
"A budget option that could get a few things better"
There is nothing wrong with this motel if you are looking for a flop for the night and plan to spend most of your time out among the delights of Niagara Falls. It's a short walk (from an odd, mixed residential/industrial neighborhood) to the top of Clifton Hill. But if you plan to spend any time in your room amenities are limited: local TV channels, […] only, and the wireless was very inconsistent. My understanding is that this hotel is under new ownership and the staff were certainly friendly and helpful enough. But spending a few bucks to upgrade the wireless, and adding a refrigerator to the rooms (when I stay in this kind of budget motel I like to pick up some drinks and snacks from a convenience store) would certainly add more to its appeal than price. And they should not claim a pool--my understanding is that guests can use the pool of another motel they own a block away but that should be clearly noted in the booking information. Read more

"Just affordable hotel"
This hotel is not a very clean and good service hotel. It was just cheap and affordable hotel. And the staff was very kind. I recommend to poor travellers.. It will be good for you..
"It´s according with the price"
This hotel is according to the price, I went there with my family but is not a family hotel, we had to book two rooms, because we were six adults and in just one room we had three queen beds, so we could stay together! I didn´t like it, I wasn´t clean, for me that´s the most important thing and I wasn´t happy. One of the blankets was full of hairs. We […] realized that we could stay in a better hotel for almost the same price. They are a lot close to this one. The location is good. Despite all the staff was gentile Read more
"good deal"
very clean and friendly staff.
"Cheap but ok"
For the price it was fine. Just off the beaten path but walking distance to Clifton Hill, Casino and the falls.
"Good for price"
Looking for a cheap room for a night, this is the hotel to go to, just 5 minute walk to Clifton hill and casino, and decent hotel for price.
Hotel was in good location, close to all amenities at Clifton Hill and Casino Niagara. Cleaning staff was helpful and loaned us her extra microwave for the wknd, was disappointed that no one came the second day to clean the room or give us extra towels, however with just two of us we managed just fine and later that night the owner asked if we needed […] anything. Overall the room was clean and cheap rates. Read more
"Scottish Inn"
It was a nice enough hotel for the price. I would stay again although next time I would bring soap and shampoo as there was no soap left in the bathroom.

It was a very staying at Scottish Inn. The location is very near Clifton Hill, it is less than 5 minutes walk. The room is big, nicely cleaned. It is more than what I could ask from an Inn. I've stayed in $99/night motel room and it was way far worse than this one. I was very happy to stay at Scottish Inn during my trip to Niagara Falls.
"Scottish Inn in Niagara Falls"
The location was close and within walking distance to the main strip/falls. It was also just past the strip by a block and a half which meant no bars kept us up once we went to bed. The Inn itself is a little outdated in looks but what they lack there they certainly make up in their service! They give you a coupon for a discounted breakfast at a little […] family owned restaurant down the street which was very good and the price was right so we went both mornings. They also allowed us to park there after checkout so we could enjoy the day still without having to worry about paying for parking. We would definitely recommend and go back ourselves. Read more
"Not bad"
The room was clean shower worked great and so did the A/C. Short walk to falls overall not a bad place.
"OK but I expected a little bit more"
It was a nice clean motel but I really missed having a fridge in my room as I had in other places where I stayed - kinda took it for granted. The hotel description mentioned an outdoor pool but it turns out that they share the pool with the nearby Red Carpet Inn. During this heat wave, I was looking forward to going for a nice swim but I was informed […] that the pool was closed as they just drained and refilled it and city bylaws would not allow anyone to swim in it for a certain period of time. Anyway, I had to shell out $60 for the waterpark. Other than that, the room was made up and the a/c worked, which provided relief from the heat. Since there was no fridge, the owner went out of his way to get me a bucket of ice to cool my drinks. Also he was nice enough to let me bring my bike inside my room since I had a ground level room. "Very Close to everything"
Disregard the Mix of Residential and Industrial Area and you have a very good Hotel. Rooms are Clean and any concerns are looked after right away. Free Parking after stay in room is over. Excellent Family Restaurant around the Corner, the Golden Steer.
"The Scottish Inn"
Stayed at this hotel during the heat wave so drove instead of walking. About ten minute walk to top of Clifton Hill. All day parking near both casinos was only five dollars so this wasn't bad considering we had a cheap hotel. Bedding was clean which was the main thing. Management were great - offered us a microwave for the room, coffee in the lobby. […] This is not a five star hotel but definitely worth the money. Would stay here again. Read more
"Great and Close to Everything"
Got there early and was very pleased to have the room and keys given to us to start exploring right away. The staff helpful in anyway and was very friendly. No problems with anything and would stay there again.
"THE SCOTTISH INN AT THE NIAGARA FALLS"
This is a truly value for money motel. The receptionist was there to meet me with a smile at 10pm. checking was quick and I had a choice of roooms. The room was comfortable. I was walking distance to Clifton Hill where all the action is. I was advised early in the morning that my car door was open, and the management even volunteered to close the windows. […] A quite neighbourhood. so great stay after having a freshly brewed coffee on departure Read more
