"VALUE FOR MONEY"

This is a large new building also used as a student residence. It's location requires some navigating from the highway. We were surprised to find ourselves in a handicap unit which featured only a double bed and limited furniture but lots of room. The shower could accommodate a basketball team. "Thompson Rivers University Residence & Conference"
The room was nice enough, not very comfortable beds though and the shower was barely big enough to fit in. The thing that upset me the most was the fact that they tried to make a charge on my card even though I paid my bill through hotel .com. Watch your accounts if you stay here.

The views of hills and river were mesmerizing! Very affordable rates! Staff was friendly and helpfull. Basic accommodation on university complex but all we needed for an overnight stop. Rooms have self catering capabilities ( microwave, fridge, sink for washing up and a full kitchen down the hall) but there are no utensils at all so you need your own cups etc for that welcome cup of tea. Clean, but very spartan. A small kitchen, but no dishes or utensils. Safe, convenient and free parking A minimal breakfast. Beautiful view. A ten minute drive to downtown. No place to relax in a comfy chair or couch. Okay, if you're on a budget, otherwise, try the Holiday Inn.

Loved the space, convenience and cleanliness - great accommodations for a family. Our only complaint was the beds, which were extremely hard and uncomfortable - no-one slept well. If these student residences are to be marketed as summer hotels, they really should upgrade the beds. Would do the students a favour too.

The address was confusing. Receptionist was friendly. The room was very spacious and had a fridge and microwave. We just needed an economical room for the night....it was very comfortable and we would definitely stay there again. We were not in the room much but it was nice to have the fridge to have some cold drinks.

Only problem was not being to check in until 4 pm. Most hotels have a 3pm check in and some will let you in earlier if the room has been completed.

Great price for a basic hotel in the area of Kamloops, BC, Canada. A little confusing with the address but once we found it, it was in a great location with some resturants, gas stations in close proximity. Would stay again if in the area.

This place was excellent value and it included breakfast! My husband and I both found the beds to be a little too firm - we had separate double beds in separate rooms- with separate TV's! The 4 bedroom suites would be great for families. For the budget minded university residences offer a clean private place to stay. I will stay here again.

I would recommend TRU - both of my "special requests" were granted - my only complaint is that the beds are too small. They are only doubles, and that's not large enough for my husband and I to share! I was suprised at how clean everything in this building was, from our room, to the hallways to the breakfast area. courteous and friendly staff, large clean rooms with basic ammenities. and only minutes from tounament capitol centre. this is perfect for anyone who is in kamloops for sports or leisure. VERY AFFORDABLE.

The loft has a nice view of the Thompson rivers. I found it strange that there was no art on the walls. Big screen TV's nice kitchen comfortable bed and great work desk area. I will stay again as its hard to find a kitchen in most Hotels in Kamloops.

For the price we paid, we were pleasantly surprised with the spacious rooms. They were perfect for us (2 couples) as each bedroom is distinctly separate. The kitchen was disappointing as there were no dishes, cutlery and cooking pots/pans. So, could not use the kitchen much. We used just the fridge and microwave. Our room was very clean and we were very happy with the accomodations. There were alot of people on the outside deck that night but we didn't hear anything in our room. It was very quiet considering the amount of people staying in the place. I would stay there again.

Conference Centre was very nice place to stay, particularly, if you have children and need 2 bed rooms and kitchenette. The panoramic view of Kamloops from the Hotel was gorgeous!

TRU is a well located high-rise student residence that doubles as a 3-star b&b in the summer when the students are away. We (family of 4) from Vancouver, made a pit stop at Kamloops enroute to Banff and back. Staying at TRU was a pleasant experience. The reception staff (students) were warm and welcoming. We requested a North facing (amazing view of […] the mountains) suite at the last minute that they thankfully accommodated. The price is great for the entire package (views, breakfast, suite quality, friendly staff, cleanliness). I'd call this a very good 3 star experience. We booked a 2 bedroom suite (queen beds). It only has 1 bathroom. The shower "pod" is quite narrow and even a lanky guy like me kept bumping into the walls too often, much to the chagrin of the rest of the crew trying to sleep. There is a microwave and a fridge, but reception refused to lend us any microwaveable dishes! Did I mention the great view! The queen sized bed is not queen sized. Its much smaller. Plus my Dad's become a kicker, so that didn't go very well! So avoid trying to cram 2 people on these beds. Otherwise, great value for money. I will definitely go to TRU again.
