Hotel & VIlla Auersperg is a clean, comfortable and pleasant hotel when looking for hotels in Salzburg. It's located outside the old city, which makes for a walk to the main attractions but there is enough to see around the hotel that makes the location acceptable. Pros: complimentary morning breakfast (which was excellent), complimentary use of sauna and steam room, and very helpful staff. Cons: small-ish room, wireless internet did not work.

The price was awesome for the amenities. The room was very clean, and modern. The staff was amazing. The breakfast was typical of European hotel breakfasts with a variety of sliced meats, cheeses, breads and cereals. Would have enjoyed having boiled eggs as many hotels provide. They also have a guest kitchen with a refrigerator and free washer and dryer. They also offer free wifi with reasonable internet speeds. The only downside for us was the walk. It was about a 20 to 25 minute walk to the old-town section of Salzburg, where all the history and beauty is located. As we were driving past our hotel on the tour bus, the driver offhandedly commented that "this is the ugly part of town." It's industrial, and not quaint at all. There are not many restaurants near the hotel, but there is a small shopping center next door with a grocery store, and a Greek restaurant. The distance to a stop on the train station is only a couple blocks, so it's convenient for getting to and from the rail for travel in and out of town. If we were coming back, we would probably consider staying here again, but if you stay, be prepared for a bit of exercise.

great room, very clean and friendly staff. Has its own restaurant and serves a great breakfast. If you didn't book the room with breakfast it can get quite expensive ($15.00/person) and parking is pretty bad in the area. If you use the small parking lot the hotel keeps nearby, it will cost you another $14.00 per day. Location is convenient, right next to the train station with public transportation almost around the corner.

After a 6 hour drive from west Germany, it was nice to arrive to a courteous staff. English was not a problem. This hotel is a nice get away from the... hustle and bustle of Saltzburg and is located right below the mountain. Rooms are clean and well tended. They have very generous bathrooms and large balconies on the mountain-side. The rates are reasonable. There's no air conditioning but it's June and only 70 F so windows were fine. The bus runs from 5-11 so you hear that out your window if it's open. The bus is easy to ride and included in the Saltzburg ticket. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is that the beds area bit hard; but don't let that overshadow the stay. Minibar, free in-room internet, and free breakfast buffet were definite perks! Easy to get to off the Freeway (make sure to stop before crossing the border and get a Viniette pass!!!!) Would recommend this hotel to anyone! Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 15, 2012

The hotel in general is nice and comfortable: the only problem is the location. It’s beautiful, but very noisy being practically next to the parking lot for the cable car to the famous Untersberg mountain and also very close to the road.

Hotel je na úpatí stejnojmenné hory. Prima lokace, klid, super výhled. Snídaně na 1. WiFi na pokoji v 2 patře byla slabá a sem tam se ztrácela, ale na počasí to stačilo :-) Doporučuji!

Härligt hotell vi bergets fot! Två av oss tog den närliggande linbanan upp till bergets topp, rekomenderas.Efteråt avnjöts en kall och mat i hotellets restaurang. Rummen mycket rymliga, rena och fräscha. Frukosten var bra med allt som kan önskas. Ett mycket prisvärt hotel som vi rekomenderar.
