I was not expecting too much from this B&B because of the price, but I was wrong to judge. The room was very clean, the bathroom was a lot nicer than what I was expecting, the gentlemen running the B&B emailed me the day before we were due to show up in Rome to let me know that if were going to be getting to Rome earlier than check-in he could accommodate […] us for no extra charge and gave us his cell number in case we got lost. The room was actually really nice. I will admit it was a little hard to find but if I would go back to Rome I would defiantly stay here again. It is also conveniently right next to the train and subway station. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent cost benefit"
Friendly service, clean room and bathroom. Very good location, close to Termini station. Only one inconvenience was the misundertand of information: the web site inform the payment should be in the check out by credit card, but the hotel charged in cash at check in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Experience, Location and Comfort When in Rome"
We traveled by foot and train and this B&B was perfect! We were literally a block from the train station which made it easy for walking with a roller bag and backpack. We did not hear any train noise since we were on the opposite side the block. The neighborhood is comparable to most major downtown cities (not the cleanest), but we always felt safe. […] We arrived at two large wood doors with a sign for La Habana. We buzzed up and were greeted by Ulli the owner. He was so friendly and welcoming. We walked from the main hallway of the flat and were shown to one of three rooms. Our room was bright, clean and modern. There is a bathroom in the room which was spacious and the shower was the largest we've had during our travels. He provided shampoo, soap and towels and a built in blow dryer (not all hotels provide this in Europe). We had a safe and refrigerator in our room. It was better than most European hotels. The bed was a king (not two beds pulled together). It was so comfortable. The window looked out onto a park and it was so quiet. Ulli provided us with a map and pointed our local joints and places to see. He was so accommodating and helped us to immerse ourselves in the local vibe. He provided a beautiful breakfast and coffee each morning. He left us alone unless we asked questions or wanted to chat. We truly enjoyed his company. We couldn't have asked for a better place and yes, we would stay with at La Habana again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is within a block of the main train station, and since there is an airport bus (for 4 euros) that leaves from the train station, this is an ideal place to stay the night before flying. The building itself is a bit off-putting and the only indication that you've arrived is a door buzzer marked La Habana. You must wait to be buzzed in, so make […] sure they're expecting you. Despite being called a B&B they don't serve breakfast currently. The elevator is tiny, old contraption. Despite all these issues, the room and bathroom were nice, large, and spotless. So, this is an inexpensive option located perfectly for traveling onward via train or plane. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was clean and tidy. There were no personal when we arrived and we had to call them to come to open the door. Luckily it wasn't that big of a deal and they arrived in 5 minutes to let us in. The breakfast was basically only white bread with jam and coffee (which northern people might think it's not enough). But the owner was very helpful and […] bought us also yoghurt at the breakfast when we asked. There were a hair dryer, tv and a safety box in the room. No iron. Free wifi worked well. They cleaned the room every day and changed the towels and sheets. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"B&B La Habana"
We stayed for 3 nights at this place, and although I am giving it a score of 2/5, it is all due to two reasons: -location: it is well located, if you want to be close to termini and all the sightseeings, but the neighborhood is absolutely sketchy... -heating: the room a heating radiator, but it simply wouldnt work at night! Every morning the room would […] be freezing and we would wake up with a sore throat as consequence... I believe the owners were turning it off during the night to save $$$, bad move...
If I ever come to Rome for holidays again, I would definitely choose La Habana B&B for sure. The location is great and the hostel is owned by a very nice married couple. The room is clean and well furnished, and they offer breakfast too. Just the check out time is a bit too early(at 10am). But overall, it's a perfect place to stay in Rome if you don't […] want to spend too much on hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very convenient location just five minutes walk to termini station, and many restaurants and also laundry available in the neighborhood. The room is clean but the host didn't change our bed sheets and towels in daily basis.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a good experience"
10/04/13 nobags everett, WA
I am giving this three stars rather than two because the couple who own it are very nice and the room was clean. The day we arrived was 80 degrees which is warm for us.( we are from the pacific NW in the US) We put on the air con before we went to dinner but when we got back it was turned off with a note on the unit saying the nights are cool and we don't need to use it, just open the window. The room finally cooled off about 3am but the garbage trucks started. Went on for an hour. B&B is on the first floor so it was noisy. Breakfast consisted of a whole pear and a whole apple, juice, packaged pastry and stale bread. If you stay bring ear plugs and eat breakfast out.
"Excellent location, basic and clean"

Have stayed there for 2 nights. Location is excellent and just next block to the Termini. Very convenient for taking metro/bus for rome city visit and train to town nearby as well. We arrived by the airport train and what you have to do is to get an exit just next to the platform and you can arrive the B&B in just 2 mins! The staff there is helpful in helping us to check-in and store our luggage (as we arrive early in the morning), and gave us a brife introduction on the location of the main attraction. The room is actually a basic one (not much different from photos here) but that's all we need as it is tidy, with good wi-fi, clean private bath room and air-con. Obviously it's newly renovated and things are new. Breakfast is simple with bread, coffee, toast, biscuit, juice, etc.. Lot's of restaurant surrounding and you can find supermarket inside the Termini. The only point to mention is that the air-con isn't that strong. Need to be patient waiting for the cool air to come. Struggle in the first 2 hours we turned in on but fine in the mid-night. Given the price we paid, this B&B did provided all we need and have a good balance between price and value.
"Convenient, could use a few upgrades"
07/16/13 mrmnem New York City, New York
We stayed as a couple for five nights, during an escape to Rome. The location is very convenient: just 2 or 3 minutes walking from Termini station. If you're coming from afar, at least you don't have to bother taking a cab, bus or subway to your final destination. Although the neighborhood is a typical "train station surrounding" (understand: not necessarily as nice as the rest of the city), you won't get into any trouble, day or night. You're right next to the Termini subway station, central bus station, and it's an easy walk to basically anywhere in the ancient Rome (it will take you 30-40 minutes of a very pleasant walk to go to Piazza Navona) Checking in was a bit special, as no one was there when we arrived. There was a note asking us to call a number, and then a waiter from the restaurant next door brought us the key. It's fine with me as I'm used to traveling to new places, and speak a little Italian, but that could be a stressful surprise if you don't expect this kind of situation - it could be nice upon booking / a few days before arrival to know when they expect to be present or not. The tenants were pleasant; luckily we had money with us as they requested full payment upfront (our booking said payment upon check-out). The room was pretty big and the bed comfortable - everything looked like it was updated recently; there's a big AC unit, a bit noisy but pretty efficient. Each room has a private bathroom; ours was fairly small and unfortunately had a constant sewer smell. You'll survive if you're staying one or two night, but it was a bit more of an issue for us, staying five. Breakfast was a buffet, with some toast, cereals and fresh fruits + coffee and juice, overall OK even though it was nothing exceptional. The concept is between a B&B and a small hotel. It's more affordable than most hotels in the city, overall convenient and did the job for us, despite some inconveniences. In a city like Rome, I'd say it's still on the better side if you're not willing to spend a fortune on lodging, but for sure a few improvements would do it some good.
"Great location, clean, friendly owner"
07/15/13 Evdz80 The Hague, The Netherlands
Arriving at Roma Termini by train, it is a 2 minute walk to this B&B. You get 3 keys (Front door, appartmentdoor & room) so you are free to go and come as you please. Eventhough you are very close to the station, there is no problem with noise from trains at all! You do hear some cars, but no trains! Clean room, proper bed, mobile airconditioning, nice flat screen TV, and a easy safe to keep passports etc. Breakfast is very limited (some juice, cereal and milk and toast in the hallway that you can take to your room, but you should really go out and eat anyways, Rome has fantastic food). Very friendly and helpful owner. After check-out (10.00) we could leave our bags and take the 2 keys with us (only to leave the room key) so we could pick them up when we liked (in our case around 17:30). I would say this has everything you need for a visit to Rome, highly recommended. As an additional tip, 2 restaurants within walking distance where we had the very best food: http://www.trattoriavecchiaroma.it/ http://www.trattoriamorgana.com/
"Very nice B&B"
12/26/12 jojofan Hong Kong, China
It's very close to the Central Station, literally 5-minute walk and about two streets off the main road. We arrived late (about 10pm) but all we had to do was to just press the main door bell. The owner answered, opened the main door and let us in. Breakfast was basic but the owner was nice to wake up early and buy us coffee when he knew that one of us was a coffee person. He offered us a city map and wrote us the wifi password upon our arrival. The room was also neat, clean and bright, though the shower room could be a bit small and the water wasn't as boiling hot, which is something that you would want to have during the cold winter. If you're traveling during winter like me, one thing to note is that the heater isn't very strong and you probably wanna wear a sweater when you go to bed.
"Neat little B&B"
11/15/12 marietang79 Singapore, Singapore
I have always stayed in a 4-5 star hotel whenever I travel but I decided to be more frugal for this Italy trip as I have just quit my job. Rome is an expensive city for hotel accommodation. Although I have never stayed at a B&B, I decided to be a little more adventurous. I read a lot of B&B reviews around Termini area before settling on La Habana - a cozy, tastefully decorated little apartment with 3 rooms. The B&B is located in a building on the 2nd floor. We arrived on a Friday morning at 11am and were too early for the 1pm check-in. There is an old looking lift but it works perfectly! So no lugging up our luggage. The owner was very nice and he let us leave our luggage outside the room. He also provided a map of Rome city for us. We picked the smallest yellow themed room as we didn't feel the need for a bigger one since we would be out most of the time. The room was clean and cozy for the 2 of us and the bed was just nice, not too hard, not too soft. There was a LCD TV but there was only one English channel that played super old MTVs. As stated, the room did with come with an air-conditioner but it wasn't the wall-mounted ones we are used to. This one is a portable air-conditioner which was noisy. The piping which was supposed to be plugged into the window to release the hot air was loose so we had to push it though the window. Breakfast was provided every morning on the counter-top in the walkway and the spread was very good. There were fresh pastries, bread, yogurt, bananas, cereals, coffee, juice etc. We brought the breakfast into the room where we sat at the table to eat comfortably. The other 2 rooms were occupied throughout our stay but we hardly saw the occupants. They were very quiet and nobody disturbed anyone with loud talking or TV. The bathroom was clean and I like that the toilet paper was the thick kind and not the cheap thin ones. Packets of shampoo/body gel were provided but we didn't use them. Towels were also provided but strangely, we had small towels for the 2 nights and bigger ones on the last night. One complaint I had was the poor water pressure in the shower. It was difficult to shower and I took forever to wash my long hair. The other complaint is the creaky bathroom door. It creaks really loud when we open and close it. The owner should really oil the hinges. I also like that the room and toilet were cleaned every day and towels were replaced. As for the location, La Habana is located directly less than 5 minutes walking distance from the train station. The room was quiet other than the occasional traffic noise. There are a lot of cafes, eateries and restaurants around the area. One thing to note... there are many touts in the area outside the B&B. We just declined politely and walk away without much issues except for one who harassed us. We also returned before 8pm every night as there are a lot of black people in the area and they do get rowdy when they get drunk.

It's a great budget b&b close to central station and a couple minutes away from the colosseum. The room was big enough and clean. Breakfast was basic, but we had a great stay and we would certainly come back!
"Absolute a good B&B"
05/30/12 Jenniferzhen L Jinan, China
I stayed in this lovely hotel for four nights and it is really a good place to stay. The fashion room, the warm staff and the perfect location which is very close to termini make this small B&B a perfect place to stay. Also, the price is good compared to other hotels. I will be back once I get chance to go to Rome.
"Best Place to Stay in Rome!"
05/28/12 stacey06 Austin, Texas
I did a lot of research to find a place in Rome that was close to the train, queen or king size bed (couple), good size shower, bathroom amenities included (blow dryer) and a price range between $100-$120 per night. THIS WAS THE PERFECT PLACE! You will read other reviews suggesting the location was questionable. However, even though the foot traffic outside the flat wasn't the most desirable, we totally felt safe and it didn't bother us at all. If you live in a city you are used to areas like this.It was one block from the train station (we traveled by foot and train so it was super easy!) and it was so peaceful (can't hear the trains). We were welcomed by Ulli (the owner) and he couldn't have been more helpful providing a map and good local spots to visit. We wouldn't have known about some of the local hot spots if it weren't for Ulli (highly valuable). We woke up each morning to a yummy breakfast (coffee, hard-boiled eggs, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt and more). He rents out two rooms and we never saw our neighbor or heard them. We did enjoy seeing Ulli and his wife and we were very social with them. If you want privacy they will definitely give it to you. The location was perfect for walking to the local tourist spots and we even took the underground subway which was at the train station to get to the Vatican City. The transportation is super easy, no need for a car. The room was spotless/modern, the bathroom was very clean, new towels, wall mounted blow dryer, shelves for toiletries, free wireless, able to open the window for fresh air, large and spacious room with lounging seats. Ulli has worked hard and continues to update and add new features to the room. The front door to the building is locked (he gives you keys while you stay) which made it very secure a and safe. We loved our stay and would absolutely go back.
"Perfect location, great place to stay"
The place is 3minute walk from termini station, the rooms are quite big and the bathroom was clean! The breakfast was simple but good, continental breakfast, personally enjoyed a lot. The owner was very nice and there was no problem with leaving the luggage on last day and picking it up in the evening just before flight. Definately value for money and great location (decent restaurants nearby) If I return too Rome again, I'll definately stay there again.
