My boyfriend and I would highly recommend B&B Pompei il fauno. The location looked scary when we arrived but it ended up being close to town, a fantastic restaurant and a great market.

Hostess did not speak English but was able to communicate everything just fine. Made us feel very welcome. One of the nicest rooms we had stayed in. Only downside was the area the hotel was in was not very nice.

"Hosts' special attention to details"
We had a pleasant two nights stay at Il Fauno. The room was clean and cozy. We were provided information about where to eat out or to buy food, directions where to go for transportation and to locate the archeological site (we ended up walking as it is not that far). Eduardo also provided us with a DVD of Pompeii, which was very thoughtful, and with a book about the site, which was helful during our visit. What we keep from this stay is the attention to details from our hosts. Everything we needed was there, even the multi pluggers to recharge all types of electronic devices! The room and facilities were well attended for and the kitchenette was stocked with everything we required. The facility is fenced with keycard access, so it felt safe to leave the car.

"Other place better"
At first Eduardo was friendly and helpful, we were provided informations. We paid 5 nights after 4 nights we lelft, impossible to sleep. Located next a busy street, if you intend to leave the door open (no window) just forget it. Room is clean, but small, the shower is very tiny, need to step out to soap yourself(I can picture someone a bit heavy). Swimming pool is just a tub. Wifi is unpredictable (stop time to time) Wall is thin, could hear the one next door. The garden has no touch, fews pots, next the tub (pool) a mess fews chairs and beds sun no harmony. When, I said to Eduardo, we were leaving because it's a noisy place, he showed himself disagreable , arrogant, I have to said when we cheched in, I mention the noise. he propose us a quiet aprtement but more expensive,"what for, we didn't intend to cook. We paid cash 5 nights, I ask him my invoice, he refuses to send it to me "it's againt the law" Hotel com called him, but he was no there, so I blocked my credit card.

"Perfect for family"
We had a lovely stay, 3 kids and 2 adults. Close to Pompei and Vesuvio. Also took the car and went to Sorrento and Capri. A stay for 2-4 days is perfect. You need a car. Only thing, skip the swimhats!:-)

"Feel like Family"
01/10/16 EDin312 Chicago, Illinois
Arrived with my family of 5 people, and we were made to feel like family. Had a wonderful guest house, with a kitchenette. After a long day of sight-seeing, we relaxed and watched a few DVDs from the library. The bathroom was large and clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was secure parking for our rented car and the breakfast was more that enough including the fried eggs made special for us. My children said it was the best place we stayed at. It is not 5-star, but neither is my own house, so we were comfortable and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and we were made to feel at home.

"Very nice place near Pompeii ruins to use as a regional base"
01/02/16 John G Livingston Manor, New York
B&B Il Fauno is a postage stamp oasis amid the visual blight that comprises most of Pompeii city, large areas of which are trash covered and gritty. We stayed here 6 nights in January while exploring the Pompeii/Naples/Amalfi area and were very satisfied. Its little front garden and gazebo is a pleasant refuge and there's a larger garden area and small swimming pool in the rear.as well. The protected parking is important for those with a car. Mama's breakfasts (at €5/person/day) are outstanding, with plenty of good food including homemade baked goods every day. Our double room (January priced at €50/night) was very small, but there wasn't much reason to be in it except to sleep. A couple of Il Fauno's publicity statements are exaggerated: It's a substantial 3 km walk to the Pompeii ruins Piazza Anfiteatro entrance, and it's not an attractive trip in any conventional sense. On the other hand, the Scafati station of the regional Circumvesuviana rail system is just 1 km down the street, with trains to over 90 locations around Mt Vesuvius, including Naples, Sorrento, and the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum (Ercolano). Although the volcano dominates the region, walls and buildings mean you have to move to just the right spots in Il Fauno to get a line of sight to it. Eddy and his mom provide warm and attentive hospitality, the facilities are well maintained, and it's an excellent place to headquarter in the amazingly interesting and historically unique Pompeii region. Eddy also offers extra cost services that can be helpful for strangers in a strange land.

"Il fauno week August 15"
10/10/15 Juliette B Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom
Top room is lovely and big for the 5 of us. Amazing roof terrace with privacy and view of Vesuvius. Super helpful hosts and just enough pool to end the dusty days out. We did Capri, sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, beach, paestum, and waterpark in 7 days. Lovely pizza restaurants down the road. Watch out for the local August hols when some (not all) closed for 10 days. Hire car vital for family.

The pictures are much nicer.

Stayed only for a night, but wouldn't mind to stay for a longer :) The best staff ever who makes you feel like at home. The clean rooms equipped in a best way. Close to station and not far to Pompei ( if you're not lazy, you can walk just like us,what will take about one hour:)) Highly recommended! ^_^

"AMAZING WEEK-END AT B&B IL FAUNO!"
12/04/14 RobertaMarco23 Naples, Italy
We spent just one night in this very cute b&b, but we immediately wanted to come back! The woman who welcommed us is very kind, she offered us handmade lemon liqueur and tart with her tipical jams. The rooms are very clean, you don't have the impression of being in a b&b, but at your's. The b&b provides all kinds of phone chargers, like a 20 kinds. There's a mini fridge with some drinks, and water is for free. There are also a lots of thé tastes, two cups and a kettle on the bedside table. The wc is super clean and full of everything you need. In the breakfast room there are a lots of beautiful films and books that you can watch or read in your room, if you stay for a long time. It's 10 minutes away from Pompei's Excavation by car! We loved it! We'll come back in 2 weeks! Marco&Roberta

"Home from Home - brilliant!"

Stayed over May half-term. Brilliant place to stay. Made to feel really welcome. Eduardo and his family couldn't do more for us from the initial welcome drinks to taking us back to the airport at the end of the trip. The family room was great. The garden was lovely to sit/play/sunbathe in. The pool was enjoyed by the kids. The breakfasts were amazing especially the home made jams/marmalades, which like the initial Limoncello, are all made from the fruits in the garden. Eduardo would give us advice regarding where to go sight-seeing and would play videos about each place at breakfast so that we could get some background before going. He also gave us lots of tips on how best to spend our time at each attraction. The location is great. Just outside Pompeii - so not too busy - but you can walk to the main attractions (less than a couple of miles). However, we have a wee disabled boy so used the regular train to get around (very convenient). It's also very close to an excellent pizza place (definitely worth going to). I can't recommend this place enough. It was so much better for our family (3 children) than staying in a posh hotel in Sorrento. Thanks again Eduardo!

"Excellent place to stay!"

We enjoyed every moment of our stay here! The attention to detail is worthy of many five star hotels in this country, and our gluten free pastries and cakes meant that my sister and I did not miss out on any of the treats on offer. Eduardo's knowledge and guidance helped us to make the most of our relatively short stay here, and we managed to fit in everything we wanted to do, and more besides. Close by, we were also recommended a restaurant serving gluten free pizzas, which were delicious! All in all, a fantastic break!

"A pleasant one week stay"
10/13/14 Florence N
My husband and I stayed at Il Fauno for a week. Let me start with our one problem..... I booked this B/B because we wanted to stay right in the shadow of the ruins. Il Fauno is in Scafati and not Pompeii which was a disappointment. That having been said,Eduardo and his family could not have been better hosts. Wonderful breakfasts, comfortable beds, small but clean rooms and bathrooms. Eduardo was available for transportation to and from the train stations and restaurants. This family looks after their guests......from providing umbrellas to taking in laundry when it started to rain while we were sightseeing! We thank them for making our stay so pleasant!

What can I say we stayed for 3nights and booked 2 rooms. Everything was perfect from breakfast to playing in the pool. What a gem and a great place to travel to many locations which we did. Naples, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius. We even drove to Naples and got the train into Rome. The rooms had everything you need including air-con and lovely and clean. Sorry for the delay in my review
