What's great about this hotel is the area - very convenient to public transportation and walking distance to most local sites! Otherwise, may be overpriced. Desk staff personable but not open to offering suggestions on places to eat or things to do.

After staying in many hotels in Germany we came to expect breakfast included with the room. When we check out we find we were charged each day, also not clear about how much we would be paying for parking, surprised by 50 euro parking for 3 days. Nice hotel, great location.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Am Markt for one night upon arriving in Germany at the beginning of our Germany/Autria tour for our anniversary. The hotel was just as it had been described in other trip advisor forums we'd read before making the reservation. The room was small, a bit like a dorm room, but was well maintained and very clean. It […] wasn't luxurious at all but it had what we needed, was inexpensive and so it suited our needs just fine. The staff was helpful, efficient and spoke good English. We were on the upper floor so there were quite a few stairs to climb. There is a lift (which we used when moving our luggage) but it is very small and cramped so we usually preferred just to take the stairs. The best feature about this hotel is the location (location, location, location). It was a stone's throw to the train station and the whole area surrounding the hotel was a pedestrian area full of restaurants, cafes, sights, open air markets and retail/souveneir shops. If you're looking for something basic that's inexpensive and has great location...this is it. Read more

Hotel is excellent I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a nice place to stay in the heart of it all. It's a basic hotel in a heritage building wit lots of character, the front desk is very helpful and all encountered spoke English well.
