The hotel owner was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast choices which were included were great! We arrived during a cold period and it snowed and was very windy. The heat was not sufficient in the two rooms we reserved. That is my only complaint. Otherwise would be a great place to stay in good weather.

great place. only downside was the bathroom was about 18 inches wide. my knees literally touched the wall when i was sitting on toilet and i'm not a big person! but i'm sure all the bathrooms are not that small. the towels in the room were huge and fluffy. breakfast was adequate.

We had troubles finding maps to the hotel, but based on another person's review indicating that the hotel was just a short walk through the tunnel, we were easily able to find it. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to others.

We loved staying at Giovanni Rooms! We would definitely stay here again. You couldn't find a better location. The view is absolutely stunning. I think Manarola's the most beautiful city to stay in, too. The rooms are really nice and well kept. The only thing to keep in mind is that walking to the hotel from the train station is a little bit of a hike, just because it's near the top of the city. It doesn't take long (5-10 min.), but it's steep. It was fine for us, but a little bit hard on my older in-laws.

Excellent stay for the price and location. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The rooms are close to each other so you can hear... people coming and going. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was INCREDIBlE! I am a foodie so I can speak to the texture and flavor of food. Everything is made fresh and you can taste it. I was travelling alone in April. Being able to book a single room in a budget hotel was my original incentive to stay here but I was glad I stayed in La Spezia to visit Cinque Terre and I enjoyed very much the warm hospitality of Albergo Birillo. The walk to the hotel from the station was a great introduction to this interesting city and added to the […] feeling of staying somewhere authentically Italian, rather than another tourist hotel. The gracious friendliness of the lovely staff added to the feeling of having experienced genuine hospitality. The breakfast was amazing with the home made buffet served beautifully. Hotel is a two star, but the service from the front desk Manager was great. She was very welcoming and personable and fluent in several languages. The hotel has undergone some renovations and looks nice in the lobby and breakfast area. Our room hadn't undergone renovations and our double bed was actually two twin beds pushed together... Stayed here 2.6.11-5.6.11. Hotel just a short walk from the train station and very easy to find. Reception were very helpful. The room was large & very clean but basic. Bathroom extremely small but had a very powerful shower. Got exactly what I expected from my stay here! :-)

Hyggelig opphold pga svært sjarmernde og hyggelig vertinne. God frokost og god seng. Men: temmelig lav standard på lokalene og mye trafikkbråk. Fin beliggenhet i forhold til rusleturer i LaSpezia sentrum og utflukter til Cinque Terra og Portovenere.

Dommage, la chambre n'était pas le reflet des photos modernes et colorées lors de la réservation Hôtel, décoration et mobilier plutôt "vieillots". Déception de ce coté ...!! Petit déjeuner avec viennoiseries un peu lassant. Préférons les buffets avec yaourts et fruits, mais pour quatre jours, cela passe... !

Accomodation was poor, no air conditioning(La spezia isn't that hot..but..), the door was almost broken, no lifts. It is 10minutes from station. But sevices and breakfast was good. Home-made cake, bread was provided.

Trop de bruit des résidents. Chauffage salle de bain non opérationnel. Lit inconfortable. Douche trop étroite (50 m²). Distributeur gel de douche non rempli. Unique avantage: Proximité centre ville. Le prix est acceptable avec cette qualité, mais au delà il sera déconseillé!!!

O hotel fica razoalmente perto da estação de trem. É simples, não possui elevador e por isso uma mala muito pesada vai te dar trabalho. O quarto tem um tamanho bom mas o banheiro é muito pequeno e as toalhas de banho podiam ser melhores, mais parecem toalha de mesa.
