Arcus Residence - Medulin

The hotel is in a beautiful area. it is kind of dated but clearly management expands significant efforts to keep the property clean and inviting. We were on a full board plan. The food was reasonable, but nothing like a high level restaurant. You cannot go hungry though. What bothered us is our inability to get away from smokers either in the hotel (you cannot smoke inside but smoke drifts in from the outside through open doors) or at the beach (you can be surrounded by smokers at any time).

The management was very helpful. They upgraded our room for free. The room was clean and spacious. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

My sons and I stayed here for a few days. And although the room's decor was outdated and there was no air conditioning, we had a few of the Adriatic Sea! Breakfast and dinner were included and were delicious. The pool was a saltwater and my sons loved it! We a short taxi ride from the city center. I really liked this place. Oh and I wished I didn't have to walk 30 minutes to the closest ATM. But yes to the 15 minute walk to the aquarium.

The island that Hotel Katarina is on is beautiful with places to swim in the sea and paths for little strolls. The boat that take you to the main part of Rovinj is from 6am-midnight, runs every hour, and is free. The pool (saltwater) was very relaxing and had great chairs. With our room, there was no air conditioning (but had a table fan), two single beds were pushed together to make our double, so there was a crack in the middle of the bed. And even though we put the "do not disturb" sign on our door when we left for the day, when we got back, the sign was gone and our room was cleaned.

Although we were very satisfied with the accomodations,food, and staff personnel we did not realize the number of families with small children that were vacationing at that time. We would highly recommend the hotel to our friends but more specifically prior to or after the summer season.
