Hotel Cristal Palace - Marianske Lazne

All in all great hotel. Parking was the only issue, however it can be done. Room was wonderful and blew us away for the price. The mini bar was cheap too! Great location on the river and admist the high fuluton shopping zone. About a 15min walk to the more commoner filled locations. I say this because there is not much to do in carlsbad minus spas and a few empty casinos. Shopping is limited to high end stores and the typical tourist "buy my suiveners" shops.

We first saw this hotel when it was abandoned many years ago when we were stationed in Heidelburg. Was thrilled to be able to stay here when it was renovated. Fabulous hotel, incredible food, friendly staff. This is a experience to remember the rest of your life. The town is charming, like stepping back in time a hundred years.

We visited here about 20 years ago. Much better condition now, a grand hotel with a beautiful interior/exterior. Jr. Suite was spacious, great view, nicely appointed bath - but still hotel is just barely 4 star. Def. NOT five! Staff members aren't friendly, don't smile, not gracious, just doing their job. Dining staff need training and supervision-they flounder and don't know how to work efficiently. Breakfast buffet, but not well planned for resupply as items emptied. There are other high rated hotels, next time would try another for comparison - but worth staying here at least once.

This hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very helpful. Not a luxury hotel but a good value for the money. (The towels though were rough, as if they were air dried, a little time in a dryer would be nice) The only concern, and surprise was that in order to keep our reservation we had to arrive by 7PM. There was no one at the desk after 7PM! This was not mentioned and had we not called ahead we would have been unable to stay at this hotel. Overall, we would recommend this hotel but ... make sure you arrive by 7PM!

We stayed here for two nights and the hotel wasnt bad for what we paid. It is in a good location, very close to shopping and the main square. Cons: Unrenovated hallwaysand rooms in the older soviet style Two Mattresses Shower leaked tons of water on floor A little musty Room was pretty hot with no option for AC Too many doors (2) to open to get to your room No full length mirror Pros: Best two mattress setup I've used Free internet Decently sized room Soft towels (I think they use a dryer, which is not common in Europe) Decent TV channels Nice atrium in courtyard for dining Included breakfast (although we never got a chance to eat there)
