"Outstanding customer service!!!"
Upon arriving to Florence we became lost trying to find the hotel because of a malfunctioning gps system. When we called the hotel to let them know we were coming but lost the manager (Lorenzo) actually drove to where we were and had us follow him back to the hotel! Lorenzo continued to be helpful and friendly during our stay. He even supplied a bottle […] opener and cups so we could enjoy wine on the balcony! He also suggested places to park and great places to eat. We were more than satisfied with this hotel!***two quick notes...there is no elevator and it is on the 4th floor and the bed was extremely soft-however neither of these would deter me from staying again! "Lots of stairs"
Lorenzo did come down to help w/ the luggage, but it was a long climb up to third floor. Room small, nothing special, but ok for the price. Lorenzo a good host & we could walk everywhere we wanted to go including train station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall good experience"
As advertised, this is a very basic hotel. However, I wasn't aware that there is no lift to third floor. So if you have heavy bags you might want to keep looking. Location was convenient and the room was very clean. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Overall a good experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent petit hôtel et pas cher"
Accueil très sympa par le propriétaire qui donne de précieux conseils. Chambre très propre et très confortable, surtout celle avec le petit balcon, parfait pour les petits déjeuners! Frigo à partager dans le couloir (peu de chambres dans la résidence). Supermarché à proximité et à 10 minutes à pied des premières zones touristiques. A recommander!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value & friendly service"

It is very well located and within walking distance of the main sights and train station. Lorenzo, our host, was very friendly and helpful on our arrival giving us lots of advice on where to go and what to see. The beds are big and comfy, there is a mosquito zapper in the room, shower gel and hairdryer in the bathroom. We were given breakfast vouchers for a great little cafe at the end of the street - Flower caffe (great cappuccino & croissants and for later in the day/evening, a small beer for €2.50, big beer €3.50, amaretto for €3- super friendly staff and definitely cheap for Florence!)
"Good value, good location, great welcome"

This is a very good value small hotel in a convenient location, A short walk from the bus and train stations and from the most popular attractions in Florence but just far enough away to be quieter than the more central streets. It's not fancy but it is clean and pleasant with some thoughtful touches such as the shared fridge and a couple of cork screws! It also has Wifi that works in the rooms.I arrived quite late and an hour later than expected, the hotel doesn't have 24 hour reception but having been unable to make contact to say I would be late Lorenzo was still there to meet me cheerful, helpful and considerate to myself after a long journey and to other guests who may have been sleeping. As with many older buildings there is no lift and the hotel is on the third floor so the stairs might be an issue for some. Don't worry about mosquitos there is an electric zapper in the room I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to others.
"Great location, very kind service"

Is very well located, you can visit all the city just walking from this place. The room is very clean and Lorenzo is very kind, he receive me with a bottle of wine as present, and giving me map and pointing out places to go. The room had aircon and a roof fan, and the fridge is outside to be shared with other rooms. Is not a 5 star hotel but is just as I expected for the price
"No breakfast, no reception.."

I don't understand Bed & Breakfast, that doesn't include any kind of breakfast? When we went to the hotel, we had to walk to third floor with our bags and then there was no one opening a door to us. We had to call to the manager and wait for him to come, so we could get in. Rooms were all messy, so we couldn't stay there right a way. I tried to send him e-mail before, but I only got an error message. Bed was awful and I got a lots of mosqito (or whatever) -bites during our stay. Can't recommend to anyone.
"great location, too many stairs"

the hotel itself, was very clean, room had aircon AND a fan, the toilet was a bit on the small side, there was a small fridge in the hall to share with other guests and free wifi, lorenzo the owner was your typical italian, when i arrived there was no one there, telephoned him and he was like " i be there in 5 minutes" when he did appear he was vey very pleasent and helpful, giving me a map and pointing out places to go & see etc, the hotel is in a great location being literally a 3 minute walk from l`gallery de accademia and a 15 minute walk from uffizi gallery, ponte vecchio etc. down side was no coffee making facilities and the stairs, upside was the price & location, would i stay here again? probably. if you expect the hilton, book the hilton, you get what you pay for!
"Nice hotel if mosquito dies away"

The price is reasonable and the room is clean. I came to Florence at a very hot season and mosquito was a troublesome problem to us. If you come for Spring or autumn, I think it would be a good place to stay at.
"Very helpful landlord and great location!"
We were traveling through Italy by train and needed an affordable place to stay when we visited Firenze. The landlord was very helpful with making the best out of our short stay. He pointed us to good value restaurants, his favourite attractions in the city and the closest super market. Genuinely kind and helpful. The room was nice and airconditioned, perhaps not the newest bed, but all in all a good room. I reccommend backpacks instead of suitcases because of the lack of an elevator, but that is just a minor problem. I would definately stay there again.
"Definitely going back here!"

My boyfriend and I arrived here after a very long and stressful day of train travel, so all we wanted was to get to out accommodation and relax! We got there and the 'landlord' wasn't there and the door was locked which made us panic, however there is a sign next to the door saying something along the lines of: "If I'm not here go to the bar round the corner". We had to go to the right, round the corner and head for the first cafe/bar on the right and the owner was there. He immediately made us feel incredibly welcome and at ease and he was amazingly kind and helpful. He gave us all the information we needed and more. We booked a double room, breakfast excluded and the room was on the third floor, which is a bit of a trek with heavy bags, but it was fine. You have a code for the front door or the third floor and separate keys for your actual room, so it feels very secure. The room was very nice and clean, with an ensuite bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a sink. There was air conditioning which was a life saver most of the time and a dressing table with a mirror, and the bed was quite comfortable. It was amazingly close to the centre of Florence (about a 5-10 minute walk to the Accademia where the statue of David is). Florence was probably my favourite place of all of Italy and I really wish we had had longer than 2 days there as we really had to pack things in. The Duomo, the basilica and the cathedral were amazingly beautiful with wonderful views from the top of the duomo (definitely worth paying to go up there - especially if you're a photography freak like me). The Accademia queue gets absolutely massive and it doesn't go down quickly (we waited in it for half an hour and only moved a metre, so we gave up) But a tip to all: Go there either at around 4/5 o'clock, just before it closes (6 ish) to avoid the queues, OR do as we did and go at 7pm when they open to the public for FREE. This is a very unknown fact to most, and we got told this last minute by the reservation desk opposite - I'm not sure whether it was just the day, or time of year we were there, but it is worth a try, the statue of David is really incredible. When we were leaving, the owner was extremely helpful once again with suggesting places to go in Siena (our next destination on our inter rail trip) and we were very reluctant to leave! He does an awful lot and is still always smiling! It may be that I just loved Florence as a place, but there's not doubt that such great accommodation helped massively in how much I liked it! I would recommend this place to anyone, no matter what budget you have. We payed £36 a night and it was entirely worth it!
"It is not a B&B only a B! Sleezy landlord!"
07/15/11 Cerasum Linkoping, Sweden
The most important thing I think I have to tell everyone that even considers to stay here: You don't get a beakfast! It says on their own website that it's a B&B but it's not! When we arrived at the building no one answered when when we pressed the buzzer. So we called the numberr next to the buzzer. A guy, Lorenzo answers and says that we should try to press the buzzer and that someone should answer. This was a lie because there is noone in the building except for the guests. My theory is that he just wants to seem more proffesional or to make the guests believe someone is in the building so that the guests won't be loud or break something. There are signs everywhere that they will throw you out if you bother the other guests. He was soooo creepy, sleezy and weird. He was in our room when we weren't there and didn't even change the towels or clean, he just made the bed really, really bad. It was like he was poking around. He wanted us to pay the day he was in our room so he left a note that he would be back in the morning. He did not come in the morning, he came that same evening at about 9pm! This was really annoying because we were already sleeping and he woke us up. There is no elevator and you have to climb up to the 4th floor and there is no airconditioning, which is necessary in the summer when it's 38degs outside. There is a fan which is really loud. I got a migraine from it every single day. The only good thing was that we had fast WiFi.
"Good value City room"
06/04/11 Chris_and_Clare UK
Le Rondini is a set of rooms in an Italian town house. It's within walking distance of the station (beware there are two number 43's on the same road!) and the owner will meet you there and show you the room and give you plenty of information about Florence. The rooms share a small fridge between them that you can use. We had a side room with a small balcony although the room itself was quite small. it's only a ten minute walk to the main sites in Florence (Duomo area) and the central market area where you can get a great breakfast. It's a great place to stay if you intend to be mainly out and about exploring the beauty of Florence and just want someone to rest your head overnight.
