Calipso Park - Paradiso

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great. The complimentary breakfast had a great assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, cereal, and croissants and bread. . It is across the street from the lake so the view is pretty from the rooms.

My wife and I travelled to Lugano for a business meeting that I had and we chose this hotel so that she could enjoy the city while I attended meetings. Everything is well within walking distance of this hotel, while they also have nearby parking as we had a car. Our room fronted the lake and we also enjoyed the view from the breakfast room the following morning. It is an older hotel with character and an efficient staff. We would stay here again.

This hotel is fantastic. The views are amazing! The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable and the staff is pretty fantastic. It is however, up a very steep hill and walking to town is not really an option. Taxi's are very expensive to and from the hotel, but the surrounding towns are worth it. Find another place to eat in town. The restaurant in the hotel was a terrible experience. Crunchy risotto and pasta, raw veal and chicken and the bartender did not understand that rum is not tequila. The bar itself leaves much to be desired. We were charged full price for the horrible dinner, and the negotiation about reducing the charges for a REALLY BAD dining experience, was very difficult. The manager was really not willing to reduce the bill as much as I would have liked to see for the horrible food. Avoid this issue by eating elsewhere and the rest of your experience will be lovely.

There is little that cannot be said of this hotel. The location and grounds are gorgeous; the main villa is beyond beautiful; the service was outstanding from check-in to check-out. My fiancee and I traveled to to this hotel during the off-period right before New Year's. We were put into a suite in the main building. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The mini-bar was complimentary and replenished daily. The service throughout the complex was excellent. Perhaps the nicest surprise of our stay was the spa. Built underneath the main building, the spa featured a large pool with a number of fun features. The four treatment rooms, modeled after Earth, Air, Wind, and Fire, were a great place to have a couple's massage. This hotel is a wonderful getaway for a romantic trip to a truly gorgeous location.
