Stayed at Bristol with some friends for a few nights while driving through Croatia. We got the half board which is definitely worth it because the morning and evening buffet are pretty good for what you pay. And the biggie for us, unlimited local beer and wine on tap! The concierge helped upgrade our room, free of charge, when we weren't content with the number of beds in our suite. They also called us a cab while we had drinks at the bar. The town of Lovran itself isn't great, but it's a little more than a five minute cab ride to Opatija if you're looking for something to do. The private beach that the hotel has is kind of crummy. Not what we would call a beach in the States. Overall good hotel though, good service. Stay away from the hotel's laundry service.

The hotel is in a beautiful area. it is kind of dated but clearly management expands significant efforts to keep the property clean and inviting. We were on a full board plan. The food was reasonable, but nothing like a high level restaurant. You cannot go hungry though. What bothered us is our inability to get away from smokers either in the hotel (you cannot smoke inside but smoke drifts in from the outside through open doors) or at the beach (you can be surrounded by smokers at any time).

The Imperial Hotel was used by members of the Imperial Hapsburg Court in Vienna as a summer vacation stop back at the turn of the Century. Only the... "royals" could stay in the Hotel. There are 25 foot ceiling in the rooms and furnishing from another era. There etched glass windows on the marble steps. The free breakfast is held in the grand hall with carved ceilings. During our stay the hotel provide free Internet service. If you are looking for a modern hotel on the water....find another place. If you are looking for a connection to an earlier era at a reasonable price, this is it. We were there in the Spring of 2011. Not impressed with the Imperial Hotel. The night attendant, a young man was not friendly nor knowledgeable regarding the city. Upon checking in the hotel, I found him rather rude and unprofessional in his manner. I went up the room and immediately turned around and went back to the receptionist to check out. The room was so tiny and the matteress on […] the bed was horrible. I checked in to the 5 star hotel directly across the street. I will never stay at the Imperial Hotel and will tell all my friends to never stay there. It should be closed until it is brought up to 2012 standards. Read more

El edificio del hotel es muy bonito por fuera pero le hace falta una reforma urgente de las habitaciones. Nuestra habitación daba a un patio donde habian muchas palomas que por la noche hacian mucho ruido, así que era difícil dormir. El desayuno tipo bufet pero de bastante mala calidad. En mi opinión es un hotel caro para la calidad que ofrece.
