The location of Hotel Cerný Slon is perfect. In the middle of everything except for the tourist crowds. Awesome restaurants and cafés in the very close neighbourhood. Never mind thinking about transportation, the hotel offered a pickup at the airport for €30 which was cheaper than the cabs but also liberated us from the risk of getting ripped of by […] the cab driver (rather common in Prauge, they say). As for the Hotel, it was really nice but it lacked an elevator (which could be a problem for some) and even if the room was really nice, our bed could have been just a tad softer but that's a matter of personal opinion. Lovely hotel, beautiful decor, great location, friendly staff. But I got very little sleep as the mattress was horrible and I felt like I was sleeping directly on metal springs. I would consider this hotel again, but would check the bed before accepting the room.

I loved this hotel. The location was perfect, the staff were helpfull and friendly, the rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decortated. Couldn't say one bad thing and will definitley stay here again when I definitlely visit Prague again!

This small hotel is perfectly located just a few steps from the old town square - the best place to be by far. It was very clean and in good condition. The breakfast was good and prices for the bar and minibar very reasonable. The negatives were 1. lack of aircon meant the room was hot at night - if you opened the window, it was too noisy. 2. We visited Prague as a family (three couples) to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday and stayed at the Cerny Slon hotel. We couldn't have chosen a better place. From the moment of booking they were in touch with us to arrange transport from the airport and to enquire if they could help with anything else. As it was a special occasion we requested their […] best available room for my parents, I think we all hit on lucky as all three rooms were absolutely beautiful. They also offered to arrange cake, flowers etc to help us celebrate. They really couldn't have made us feel more welcome and that was even before we reached the hotel. During our stay it continued and the staff on reception were very helpful with lots of advice on things to see and do. Really friendly people. The hotel itself is gorgeous and in a great location just off the old town square. What surprised us was how quiet it was at night, especially with it being so central and in the late spring. We also found that the bells of Tyn church don't ring until a Sunday morning and only for a short while. The rooms were very clean, beds really comfy and breakfast was lovely too with plenty of choice in a buffet style. Could have easily stayed for longer and would certainly recommend to friends. Hotel staff made every effort to make our visit as pleasant as possible. We had been allocated a room on the top floor but they re-organised a pretty full hotel to move us to the more manageable first floor. (we are in our 60s/70s). The cook on duty while we were there was first class, everything he cooked was done to perfection.

it is not possible to stay more central in Prague than this, just next to the old town square. Nice hotel in a typical old prague building. Hotel had restaurant with great breakfast buffé (that was included in the price even though my booking said it was not). Rooms were old but nice and clean. Bathroom very nice. Beds ok.

Erittäin siisti. Vaikka sijaitsee ihan turistialueella, niin melu ei kuulunut häiritsevästi sisään. Asuimme 2. kerroksessa. Sijainti aivan loistava.Aamiainen riittävä: jugurttia, muroja, nakkeja, kokkelia etc. Kasviksia ei lainkaan, siitä miinus. Hyvät tyynyt, peitot ja sänky.

Överlag är vi mycket nöjda. Det bästa med hotellet är dess läge, inte ens 100 meter från det stora torget i gamla stan. Det enda negativa var att det kunde vara lite livat från gatan på kvällarna och nätterna, och frukostbuffén var Ok men inte mer. VI have en dejligt ophold dette unikke karakterhotel. Dejlig atmosfærde og behagelig services. Vi boede på "kvisten" i væresle 16 ---- Meget unikt med fritlagt trækonstruktion i 6 meters højde. Hotellet ligger 50 meter fra den centrale plads. Det kan ikke blive bedre. Vi kommer igen.

Wonderful historical house and perfect situation just by the Staromestske Namesti (the old square). Unique rooms with medieval athmosphere - we had incrediby high ceiling with wooden support beams. Some of the hotel staff didn't speak very much English but the service was good & friendly and everything went smoothly. Hotellrummet var stort och rymligt, badrummet likaså. Dock var det tur att det inte var så varmt när vi var på besök, för trots att det angetts att det skulle vara luftkonditionerade rum, saknades det i vårt rum. Hotellet har ingen hiss, vilket kan vara bra att tänka på om man har svårt att gå i trappor. Rent och fräscht och helt acceptabel frukostbuffé, […] vänlig och trevlig personal. Ett jätte fint hotell som ligger helt perfekt. Precis runt hörnet från torget. Lika nära till allt. Eftersom mitt rum inte hade AC så blev det lite varmt på natten. Men med tanke på att huset hotellet ligger i är UNESCO märkt så är det helt ok. Klarar man av bakgrunds ljud av förbigående människor så kan man sova med öppet fönster. Hotelli oli erittäin hyvä. Aamiainen oli mainio. Söimme myös pari illallista ja molemmat olivat annoksien puolesta todella hyviä!!! Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Hotellihuone oli ihana (hieno kattomaalaus). Ainoa negatiivinen asia oli että WiFi-yhteys ei toiminut huoneessa juuri lainkaan vaikka yhteyden käyttömahdollisuutta huoneissa mainostetaan.

Hotellet ligger lige i centrum af Prag og er charmerende. Man kan ikke køre det sidste stykke hertil i bil. Vi boede øverst hvor der er aircondition. Desværre gik denne i stykker under vort ophold og det var meget svært for os at overbevise personalet om at den ikke virkede da den ene af receptionisterne ikke var særlig serviceminded. Det lykkedes dog […] til sids at få et andet værelse. Vi parkerede vor bil i indkøbscentrer Paladium der ligger i nærheden, det er dog ret dyrt at parkere her 710 kurona/dag. Read more

Det meste var bra bortsett fra at det hørtes ut som et "ork" å gjennomføre betalingen når vi skulle reise. I tillegg kunne sengene med fordel vært byttet ut. Alt i alt er dette et hotell som anbefales, spesielt pga den perfekte avstanden til alle atraksjoner.

It seems That Czech people are not the friendliest at customer service, but receptions, was kind compared to shops or waiters in general.
