Nice hotel and location was ok. Near to some expensive shops and restaurants. Parking is in nearby pay lot and cost about $30 per day.

the restaurant was very good, the chef creative. the grounds well kept and lovely. there are two red clay tennis courts, volley ball and the pool is wonderful. nestled in farm country on the Vezere river,the hotel was a short drive from Montenac , a lovely town via back road. The room i had did not have a window, just a large door, which i kept closed at night. The result was a stuffy night sleep. I would choose a different room when i go back next time. But even with that, i considered this hotel a reasonably priced find. the staff was pleasant.

Wonderful, attentive young couple running a B & B with the evening meal option in a true French Dordogne country-side environment. Would stay again in a nano-second. James and Jennifer are to be commended for their attempts to retain the environment and essence of the atmosphere of this particular countryside. They provided day trip suggestions, local insights and most of all their time to respectfully talk (English) to us. Our thanks to them for a memorable three-day visit with them. Truly a highlight of our time in France.

This hotel looks right out onto Mt. St. Michelle and you have a perfect picture at all time. The servcie was excellent as was the food. To me it was worht every penny and the only hotel I would tell anyone to stay at if they are going there. To me it was an A plus !

I was looking for a hotel in Souillac, and this hotel came up as nearby. I had not taken the time to look at the area or do any reading--this was a spur of the moment trip. The hotel location is amazing, right on the side of the hill outside Rocamadour. The location is amazingly beautiful. In terms of visiting the cave paintings, canoeing in the Dordogne, it's a little bit of a drive. But, we were not in a hurry and really enjoyed traveling through the countryside. The room was simple, but all we needed. The bed was a little hard, and that's why I give it a 3 for comfort. But, I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a reasonable rate, a beautiful location, wonderful hosts at the hotel and this general location.

"This hotel is not for everyone"
If your GPS doesn’t find the location just keep heading uphill until you reach the top. It’s by the church. Parking is provided by the town around the hotel which is pay-parking, but apparently no one checks. We found that room was very clean, comfortable and modern. The only negative in the room was that they there are 2 types of heating and the one […] in the bathroom gets switched off by timer. You can override this, but only if you know how. So our first morning was a bit cold, but once we figured it out with the landlord’s help, the bathroom was nice and toastie the next day. I don’t recommend the restaurant. While the food is good it’s not as excellent as the price suggests, and the portions are small so don’t go expecting to be well fed. We didn’t have breakfast there, opting instead to patronize the local café which had Quiche and coffee at a much reduced price. I must say, though, that the views from the restaurant are stunning and may be worth the price of one meal there. We loved L'esplanade, once we were there. The drive was a little scarey for my husband who has a fear of heights. We did not realize that the hotel was in a small city up on a cliff. This hotel was well worth the drive, however. The view from our room was spectacular. We had dinner and lunch on the terrace overlooking the Dordogne River Valley. The […] food was very good. "A beautiful area and so convenient"

The hotel was nice enough but too expensive! we had a room on the second floor looking over the rooftops of Domme, clearly the best rooms are at the front and on the first floor. "Magic stay in Domme - Thank you Sophie!"
My husband and I stayed at L'Esplanade for two nights in September. Although we made the mistake of not printing off the map sent out with our booking and gettting lost on the way up to Domme and within the walled city, we were quickly settled into a lovely room with an amazing view and charming furniture. The first thing we did was have a drink on […] the terrace overlooking the valley at sunset. It was magic. We had made an email booking for dinner that night, and our gracious and welcoming hostess Sophie was happy for us to sit down at whatever time we were ready. The dinner was hands down the best meal we ate in France on our two-week holiday. The cheese trolley is worth saving room for! After dinner we had a cognac in the loungeroom, and a lovely chat with Sophie who happens to speak excellent English if your French isn't up to scratch. Gorgeous breakfast after a relaxing sleep in our comfortable bed. One minor issue with the room is the bath and shower could do with an update. I spent seven weeks in France and drove thousands of miles. I can honestly say that one of the highlights of my trip was driving to Domme and staying at L'Esplanade. The small town of Domme overlooks the Dordogne Valley and the view is spectacular. The town was not crowded (July high season) and the restaurants and shops were wonderful.
