We stayed in September this year and we could find no fault with La Ripetta, staff were great, friendly helpful, room and views fantastic, very clean and comfortable. Restaurant, food was fabulous, service was as good, breakfast was good. Location ideal, just far enough from Sorrento to be able to relax away from hustle and bustle, 5 mins from railway station either Naples or Sorrento is in easy distance. Antonino Aiellos was and is fantastic and a wonderful example of how well your looked after in this hotel would highly recommend this hotel, we wlll be back next year . Thank You for the fantastic stay we had

We booked a 1 night stopover at this hotel and were impressed by the views from our balcony and the restaurant. The hotel is located in Piano di Sorrento, a short 2 stop train journey from Sorrento. We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel with views down to the small port and across the water. We ate in the reasonably priced hotel restaurant (10% discount). Unfortunately the tables are not flat and have a table cover so I put my (almost empty) wine glass down and it immediately toppled over on to the tiled floor. A waiter swiftly appeared with a brush and pan and told me not to worry as he quickly swept up the glass. I was much more careful after that! Our room was quite large with a good sized bathroom and excellent shower. The staff were all very friendly. We were given a small present (mandarincello) when we checked out. A very enjoyable stay in the outskirts of Sorrento.
"The perfect location for Aperitivi..."

I am writing this review in conjunction with a review written by the couple whose wedding I arranged on 23 September 2014. The wedding ceremony was at 3pm at Villa Fondi but as the arrival time for the evening reception was not until 6pm it was necessary to ensure that the flow of the wedding day kept momentum and also guests were entertained. Hotel La Ripetta is ideally situated near to Villa Fondi only a very short walk to spectacular views and tip top hospitality from Antonino and his team. A fabulous place to have happy couples and guests! The day before the wedding I arranged for the the bride and groom to visit the hotel. Even though Antonino was very busy with an event he welcomed us and showed us the beautiful terrace. He explained how it would be set up the following day and explained that it would be for the bride and groom and their guests exclusive use. On top of that we were given complimentary drinks. Another detail which was very thoughtful was that Antonino asked the couple what style of music they preferred as he would put together a playlist for them as background music! On the wedding day everything was perfect, everything was ready for our arrival. We were also able to make use of the tiered garden for a few wedding photos. I would highly recommend Antonino, his team and the hotel for all style of events. The hotel is an all year round hotel and it has everything, accommodation, entertainment space, a pub(!), spa and extensive views.
"Aperitivi after our wedding at Villa Fondi"

I cannot thank Hotel La Ripetta and the lovely Antonino Aiello enough for their fantastic hospitality. We got married at Villa Fondi on 23rd September and had about 2.5 hours to fill before heading to our reception at Relais Blu. Our lovely wedding planner Gio Daye recommended having aperitivi at Hotel La Ripetta and it was perfect. We had the whole terrace to ourselves and it was very spacious for our party of 24. We had pimms/prosecco and snacks, and I have to say the snacks were much more than we expected, plenty to eat for everyone and more, really delicious! The views are stunning and Antonino had decorated the place beautufully, flowers on the tables, white tablecloths and chairs,,,it was so perfect and much more than we expected. This would be a perfect venue for a reception following ceremony at Villa Fondi. Thank you so much Antonino and all the staff at La Ripetta!
"Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed At"
09/19/14 Tigereyes69 Sacramento, CA
The restaurant and view from the restaurant are the best features of this hotel. The beds were hard as boards and my back ached from them. You could feel the springs against you. The worst part is that they turn the air conditioning off between 12:00 am and 2:00 pm the next day and it isn't like the air works very well anyway. Your room is barely cooled down by the time the air goes off at midnight. This forces you to open the window and if your room faces the street, you better have ear plugs. The noise from the traffic and the honking goes on all night. There are no screens so you better have bug spray too. The lobby looks inviting and stylish but the rooms are really old and outdated. Thin sheets and bedding - which is ok since it is too hot to use them. It wasn't dirty but could be cleaner. The hotel staff are not overly friendly and definitely not sympathetic as they are used to the noise and heat. I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at - my taste is 3 star and above. This hotel is definitely a 1 or 2 star.

We had the most wonderful view of the sea from our room, which made this stay amazing. Definitely ask for a sea view. The room was very clean and the staff was helpful with our requests. The included breakfast was nothing to write home about, but it did the job. We couldn't figure out the AC in our rooms and just slept with the windows open, which wasn't bad. The wifi wasn't great, but it worked. There are some beaches at the bottom of the hill, which you can walk down (hint - don't walk down) or take the lift to the sea! Only 50 cents and you get to ride an elevator to the sea. Ask the front desk how to walk to it. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Circumvesuviana train station which will take you to Sorrento (2 stops). We spent our days in Sorrento, so this was a good deal.
Stayed for 5 days as we were attending a wedding locally. Location for the sea is good as long as you can walk up hills ok. There is quite a hike down to the beach and Bay Area. Hotel Isn't a 3 star by British standards , more like a 2 but is ok. The staff are helpful and friendly but the rooms are dated and air con very noisy. The spa is extra so we didn't bother and the terrace on the roof is well.........not what I would call a terrace! It's a concrete area with 4 broken sinners on it. There is no bar in the hotel so drinks have to be bought locally from shops. The lift is really tiny so if like me you don't like lifts the stairs are a must. A big tip for anyone thinking of going to piano do Sorrento is do not go in August! It's a month of holidays for Italians and almost everything is closed. Quite literally! Also, prepare to spend lots on taxis. A 10 minute journey will cost you around €30

We took 21 students (aged 12-14) for a 5 day trip to visit the historic sites. The hotel were pretty helpful, giving me walking directions to the train station and checking up on things for us. There wasn't really a room that we could use for entertainment/group stuff, but outside our rooms there was some space and just above reception the mezzanine was pretty useful. The beach is a trek down the hill, but was worth it to get them to run off their energy. The ice cream shop opposite is fantastic, kids loved it! Food at the hotel was pretty basic, but then we were on a school trip. Rooms were generally clean, and cleaned daily.
"Nice location - nice hotel"

We stayed here for 4 nights with a group of 22 high school students during a 19 day tour of Italy. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was wonderful. Everyone there treated us well and the kids loved it. The balcony is beautiful and the adults watched the sunset every night while enjoying a glass of wine. Street side rooms are definitely noisy - I had to use headphones! The location is great - beach is down the hill and downtown shopping isn't too far away. WIFI was 2 euro per day and not very good. The little pizza place next door has free WIFI that is excellent and the kids quickly began going next door for a pizza or Coke and getting their WIFI fix there!
"Best house red wine I've ever had"

Pictures online make it look like there is a pool and jacuzzi but we never found either. get a seaside room, best view of anywhere in the world. street side overlooks bars and is exceptionally loud. staff very friendly. food in hotel delicious, carbs and decent dessert. ants in room a definite problem. took 37 american high school students there, perfect location to let them roam free at night unchaperoned for a few hours, mostly they get gelatto or go to the beach. Far enough from Sorrento center that they can't easiky get into "real" trouble.
