"Disappointed - no beach, scary walks, ok 4 kids"
The area around the Somerset is now quite developed and congested. If the construction finishes in the next few years it might make it a nicer stay. No indoor pool - missed that in the ammenities, too cold in January to swim outside. My wife arranged an airport pickup online, but that didn't make it to the front desk, so we had to get a cab with 3 kids […] and 2 carseats. The kids play area was a somewhat nice relief, but it needed a little bit of TLC. No beach is near. The walks to the marina (dolphin show) and to the Grand Mosque were a bit scary with 2 boys 6 and 4 and a toddler in the stroller. Narrow streets (partly due to construction) and lots of mud. The museum and bowling alley were a bit beyond their distance. The hotel's van service was a life-saver, but rent a car. We were left at one location for 2+ hours because the driver did a shift change and the new driver had no idea where we were and didn't speak great English. We got a ride from a complete stranger. The staff was apologetic, but it was a very frustrating experience. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. The suites (we stayed in a 2 bedroom) were nice, one of our soap dispensers didn't work, but we never told anyone so someone maybe would have fixed it. We ordered food in for all our meals in the room. The convenience store in the hotel had most items you'd need for reasonable prices. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excelent for families"
Confortable and very well designed apartments. Very good services.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very Misleading Photo"
The hotel is in the shade for most of the day as a 45 storey building is within 15 metres of the hotel entrance. the building in question is the tallest (by far) in the Juffair area, its only use is a landmark to take you back to the 'somerset'Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best caring home away from home"

Somerset Al Fatah started as a short term stay residence and has been my "home" for almost three years. Staff and facilities make everyone feel a part of their family. They are always going out of their way with extras to make you feel at home. The residence is immaculate in cleanliness and everything is always in tip top working order. The morning breakfast buffet is an added bonus for starting the day off. Can't speak for all the Ascott properties, but this one males it a point to include everyone in every possible celebration event whether personal to the resident or national to countries of residents living here. When my family from states came to visit they were envious of my flat and accommodations and wanted to stay longer. Great gym and swimming pool that gets the morning sun. R/ Deborah Mack

I stayed in somerset hotel apartment for 4 days. Every aspect of this hotel is excellent and satisfactory. Me and my family had a happy time in this hotel. I'd visit this hotel again if I happened to be in bahrain and I'd also recommend this place to other visitors. Staff is very polite and accommodating, breakfast is very good, apartment is bright, spacious, clean and airy, location of the hotel is good as well.

The Somerset Al Fateh Bahrain was my home for over 10 months and I had all positive experiences during my stay. The entire staff was courteous, to include respectful of my privacy, and went out of their way to provide outstanding customer service. The place was clean and very well organized. The staff spoiled me.

Staff was extremely polite and helpful during my stay, would come here again. Bed was a little stiffer than what I'm used to. It is close to multiple food shopping areas, mosque and bars. The free breakfast in the morning is pretty good with different variety each morning and eggs to order.
"Great location & staff"

Location is well suited for getting around the island. Set back off the main road by 4 blocks it is very quiet. We had a two bedroom which was excellent. A wrap around balcony overlooking some of the bay with clean bathrooms. The master bathroom was equipped with a well appreciated Jacuzzi. Water pressure was also excellent.Kitchen and amenities were as advertised. No problems with the WiFi as some have mentioned; free and more than adequate to check e-mails and stream media content. Excellent staff all around. All members were attentive and did their best to accommodate. Breakfast was..... just OK. On the spot waffles, eggs (to your request), very small fruit/cheese/bread selection with coffee and tea. if you're planning on staying for more than a few days it will get boring. Overall I enjoyed my stay and feel I got value for my money. I would definitely return.

I lived at the Somerset for 2+ years. It was a very comfortable and friendly place to stay. The staff are very helpful and they have great amenities. The facilities are some of the best in Juffair. There are many long term rental options in Nahrain but Somerset is the whole package from world class service to breakfast and a good gym. I'd stay there anytime I was in Bahrain.

It is some really nice apartments they have here. It is really big with lot of space. The kitchen is nice. There was two bathrooms which may be a little too much when you are just on person. I had a good view. Some negative things. The internet is not very fast. There is not a lot of places to get something to eat you will have to take a taxi or car or order something to eat. The pool is mostly in the shade so here in october it was really cold.
"Great Place to Stay in Bahrain"
Am staying here for the past 2.5 yrs . The apartment is very clean , spacious , well equipped . Wi-Fi is complimentary , The hotel staff are very friendly and courteous . The location is also an added bonus, as the surrounding's are quite and peaceful .
"Friendly staff makes a difference"

We stayed about five weeks in a two-bedroom flat, our second stay here. The cheerfulness and friendliness of the staff is why we came back. This is one of the few places in Bahrain where you're greeted with a sincere smile. The garden is a relief of green and flowers and the pool is very nice. Breakfast is a great addition and the gym is well equipped. But it's the people -- the gardener, maintenance staff, front desk, waiters, chef -- who really make this place. They LOVE children. The only negative is internet connectivity - it's slow and occasionally down - but that's Bahrain. We found internet generally unreliable island-wide, so I can't blame Somerset.
