Smiling Hotel and Spa - Siem Reap

The hotel was nice and the staff was super friendly. The beds though were rock hard I did not enjoy the bed one night. Also the showers are really small and was a bit confusing at first. Other than that everything else about the hotel was great and close to everything.

Great Hotel. I didn't find Spa. No music anywhere it would have been good to have some music by pool. staff and service great. Down fall was it was a little distance from town, walkable but for small amount of money $5USD your personal tuktuk driver will drop you off and wait until your ready for return.

While Smiling is not the nicest or newest 4-star in the area, the staff is fantastic. Everyone was exceptionally nice and pleasant. Rooms are a good size but lacking in any real style; they're somewhat bland. Nevertheless, everything was in working order and worked fine. The were very kind to upgrade us to an Executive suite as there was some issue […] with the Junior Suite we had opted for. We asked for extra pillows and towels and they made no fuss about it. The beds, as most beds I've found in Cambodia, are firm and not terribly comfortable but the bedding is very nice and high quality. Plenty of seating in the room, though somewhat awkwardly positioned. Smallish, non flatscreen TV, that does the job. Breakfast was good but not extraordinary. Eggs made to order and a small buffet. Also ordered lunch form the restaurant and likewise, good, but not extraordinary. All in all, pleasant experience, but not particularly remarkable. The staff at The Smiling Hotel was the friendliest and most helpful that I have ever come across. They were always smiling and helped with all our tour bookings, even when we requested very last minute. They gave us an upgrade to their beautiful suite. The manager sent us fruit baskets which were fabulous. The cleaning staff did an excellent job and […] were very trustworthy. They even folded any clothes my son left on the floor. The restaurant staff was very friendly and even served our table coffee and omlettes even though it was self serve buffet. The door staff greeted us with smiles and carried any of our things up to our room. The hotel isn't right downtown but it wa quiet and tuk tuk's are $1 or $2. For the rate we paid this hotel offered excellent value for money. 10 minutes out of the centre of Siem Reap by tuk-tuk was not too onerous. The hotel tries to be 4 star. The neighbourhood isn't appealing but you are equidistant from town and the Angkor Wat complex -- 15 minutes by tuk tuk either way. They are genuinely happy to serve their guests at all times, no matter what the request, and help you do or get whatever you need or want... smiling all the while. The staff were friendly, but did not understand any English. We had trouble communicating about what we wanted. However, they did try their best to assist us. Do NOT try the in room massage. The ladies are untrained and not professional. My muscles did not feel a thing and they can't understand any English either.

Fabulous experience, hard beds, wonky showers. We loved the pool. The food at the restaurant was okay. The noodle salad was awesome. Try the fish pedicure...it's a blast. Hotel is out of tourist area. Close to the local market wonderful staff..

We were satisfied with the hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. Siem Reap is wonderful and the hotel is 10 mins from town centre in a tuk tuk. On arrival we were given a room on the top floor, the carpet was filthy and covered in candlewax stains. The wifi didn't work so we asked to move. The second room was great with tiled floor although the big […] patio doors were of poor quality and wouldn't lock. Otherwise a great hotel with lovely pool and bar. Français, n'y allez pas! Il y a suffisamment d'hôtels en ville pour ne pas à avoir à choisir celui ci. Il a l'air joli en façade mais en réalité il n'y a rien de plus impersonnel. Le petit déjeuner est envahi dès 7h du matin par des cars d'asiatiques extrêmement bruyants! Le personnel du petit déjeuner parle très peu anglais et est plutôt détaché. Par […] contre, à la réception le personnel est adorable, le seul vrai plus de cet hôtel. J'avais réservé une junior suite, on m'a dit que j'avais été surclassé en suite executive! Une blague! Aucune décoration, des chambres grandes mais vides, vraiment laides! La salle de bain ce n'est pas mieux. En plus la ventilation est très bruyante et le matin le sol est trempé à cause de l'eau qui en coule. J'ai glissé dessus et ai manqué de peu de me blesser. N'y allez pas! Read more

Var veldig hyggelig og smilende betjening på dette hotellet. Hotellet bærer preg av at det er noen år gammelt, men bra service og bra beliggenhet. Området rundt er litt "rufsete", men det gjelder nok meste parten av Siem Reap. Lett å komme seg til Angkor Wat, som var fantastisk!
