Erten Konak - Special Class - Istanbul

We had a good stay. The room is basic. The cabinet shower is good but tight for larger folks. It is the decor which delights. The artistic soul of Turkey surrounds one from the ceiling to the floors and includes the textiles used in the draperies. The breakfast is excellent and the staff was helpful.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. The room wasn't as large as I had hoped, but it was very comfortable and the price was right. The shower was pretty small, but again, for what we paid, it wasn't bad for Sultanahmet. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast, which was varied and delicious. Our last night there, we were kept awake most of the night by […] construction outside our room, but the hotel couldn't have controlled that. The bed was very comfortable and the heat worked fine. WiFi was a bit spotty in our room, but we could always get a signal in the common area. Also, there is a TV in the room, but it's not plugged into anything, so I'm not sure what we would have done with it. Very convenient location to see the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, less convenient if you're trying to get to Taksim. The walk across Galata Bridge is nice, particularly if the weather is fine. For a first visit to Istanbul (when you're trying to really see the historic sites), this was a great value. Read more

I had a wonderful stay at Erten Konak. The decor is artsy, antique and adorable. The room was moderate in size but clean, well furnished and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay at Erten Konak's botique hotel. The staff is pleasant and attentive, the complimentary breakfast is satisfying, and the hotel is beautifully decorated. One of the best aspects is that it is on a quiet street and all you can hear are the calls to prayer from the nearby Blue Mosque. Erten Konak is a great hotel for visiting Istanbul. It's a refurbished "mansion" located in the Old Town district. The neighborhood, though touristy, is quaint and comfortable. Spent the 1st night on the 1st floor. The noise was awful - the floors are wood and creak terribly so you do not want anyone above you. Spent the 2nd and 3rd nights on the top floor. Great view, no noise, and had a wonderful time. Location is great in the old city. Breakfast is very good and fresh. Service is excellent - don't be surprised if the hotel […] staff is waiting out front when you arrive in a taxi to take your bags and pay the taxi if you don't have any small change at the time (they trust you - just pay them back later when you have small change). Lovely hotel in a great location. Only a few minutes walk from a number of key sights and the tram stop. Also in walking distance from the Bazaar district. Great breakfasts too. The hotel was well kept with outdoor tables and a roof terrace. The room was on the snug side and the shower was tiny (and I am 5ft and a size 8!)

Wir (zwei Mädchen Mitte Zwanzig) hatten an dem Hotel absolut nichts auszusetzen. Das Personal war 24 Stunden erreichbar und stets freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer war gemütlich und sauber mit sehr modernem Bad. Zwar klein aber für unsre Zwecke mehr als ausreichend. Ungewohnt war zunächst nur die geteilte Bettdecke, die aber am […] Ende nicht gestört hat. Es wäre ansonsten sicherlich auch möglich gewesen auf Wunsch eine zweite zu bekommen. Lärm von außerhalb des Hotels war kaum bis gar nicht zu hören. Geräusche von Esszimmer und anderen Bewohnern schon ab und zu aber wir haben nach anstrengenden Stadtbesichtigungstouren dennoch immer gut geschlafen. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Internet war im Hotel vorhanden. Zwei kleine Läden mit Snacks/Getränken praktisch vor der Tür, eine Restaurantstraße direkt um die Ecke. Blaue Moschee, Hagia Sophia und Metro-Station sind zu Fuß in 5-10 Minuten erreichbar. Es geht allerdings viel bergauf ;) Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis top! Die Hotelangestellten sprechen fließend Englisch, jedoch kein Deutsch, was für uns kein Problem dargestellt hat. Sie haben über Ausflugsmöglichkeiten informiert und gerne Telefoniert um Reservierungen für uns zu machen oder eine Tour mit Abholung vom Hotel aus zu buchen etc. Wir haben Frühstück + Übernachtung gebucht. Das Frühstück war ein Buffet mit Brötchen, Rührei, Müsli, Käse, Wurst, Marmeladen, Nutella, Milch, Kaffee, Wasser usw mit dem wir zufrieden waren. Read more
