After reading reviews for this hotel, I got the impression that it's a budget hotel but quickly realized that this hotel is more than that - higher class. It was well priced for Mumbai, service was great. I loved the professionalism and attention of the front desk. I and two buddies stayed in Bombay for 2 days during our mid-east / asia excursion. We had no idea what to expect from Bombay. The hotel was really great. About 1 hour from the airport by taxi. Close to many Bombay places of interest. We each rented rooms and we were 'upgraded' to the top floor suites. The restaurant on the property had excellent selections […] and preparation. Breakfast was good and service was excellent. Rooms were clean and modern. It is within walking distance of the Gateway of India. But be careful- walking just a few blocks in the wrong direction will lead to a very different neighborhood. Overall, a good value.

The drive from the airport to the hotel takes about an hour and a half thru all the eye opening sights of Mumbai but hotel safe and convenient We had no fear walking to Vic Statio, P of Wales Museum along historic mile to get full flavour of Mumbai Hotel staff friendly and dine in restaurant caters for European/USA tastes

Beautiful hotel in a very fun area of Mumbai. Causeway is right around the corner as is Gateway and the Taj. Lots to see, eat, and do very close by. Hotel is a cut above the vast majority of the hotels in Mumbai and is great for a comfortable treat.

Has we were staying for 16 nights The Fariyas Hotel upgraded our room from a standard to a deluxe room which was very kind of them. All the Hotel staff were brilliant, polite, helpful, from the pool attendants, doormen, housekeepers, staff on reception, restaurant & breakfast staff, can not thank them enough, they made our holiday. The housekeepers […] brought a small chocolate bar to our room every night & asked if everything was ok & did we need anything getting. Plus every other night they brought us complimentary 3 pieces of fresh fruit. The bathroom was quite small but adequate. The only thing that was a bit off putting (in our room) was on the wall under the tv it was rough & needed some repair work to it. We reported this issue so hopefully it will have been repaired. Didn't feel comfortable walking around so just got a black & yellow taxi to where ever we wanted to go, always plenty waiting outside Fariyas Hotel which the very kind doorman always sorted out for us. Each food was ordered for precise flavors, juicy and pleasurable, even in Indian and Western food. Simply clean, pleasant, with fine food. Worthy to say very Classic restaurant! Although the Buffe meal was not good, and didn't stood up to the standards of the rest of the food, particularly not fresh and dry. We wanted to go to Mumbai for a few days following a week in Goa. The hotel was in good location near the Colaba Market, plenty of restaurants around. Walking distance to the Gateway of India. Restaurant in Hotel too cold and expensive. Room was too small for 3 people to sleep in with extra bed. Charges for Hotel too expensive for sight seeing as well […] as airport drop off. We took taxi from domestic side of the airport and it cost us Rs400 and the Hotel charged us Rs1600. All staff were very courteous and friendly. The swimming pool was too small with only 4 sunbeds. The Fariyas was a wonderful hotel with helpful staff and lovely rooms. They offer delicious room service, a great buffet breakfast, nice pool area and various other services on request. Its also only a short walk frim the Taj Hotel, Gateway to India and other shops and restaurants around Colaba. You definitely get what you pay for.

We arrived into Mumbai very early in the morning and as Fariyas were fully booked the previous night, we took a room at a hotel closer to the airport and transferred to Fariyas around midday. We were not able to be given a room straight away, so we wandered around for hour an hour. The room was quite small, although clean and adequately appointed. The bed was a tad hard, as is common in India. The restaurant had a good offering and breakfast was good. I was hesitant to book this hotel after reading quite a few negative comments. I was pressed for accommodation so booked a night. The hotel was great. Near to the Taj. Our triple room was not ready so we were given another room for a couple hours and upgraded to a stunning suite for the night for the inconvenience. We were travelling around different parts of India and Mumbai was the one place I struggled to find decent accomodation for a good price. In the end I succumbed to paying a little more for a '5 star' hotel, thinking that for the last two days of our trip we would not regret it. Well we did. We were so disgusted with the quality of our room, in particular […] the bathroom, that we called reception to complain to the manager. First of all housekeeping came to check the cleanliness, then we explained and he went away. The housekeeping supervisor called to insist our room was clean and again we had to explain that we wanted to see the manager. After two more calls with reception, a bell boy appeared to move us to a different room. Which was a little better. I was disappointed though that the manager felt us too unimportant to come and talk to us directly. The staff in the restaurant are useless. It will take about 3 requests to get tea / coffee with your breakfast. And they steam the seats clean, so you leave with a wet bottom. Then the reception staff were useful. It took 20 minutes to simply check out. And then when we asked about a car to the airport, they had the audacity to insist the charge was r1400 when you can get a cool cab for r500!! When I asked about how to book one, they handed me a telephone number. I don't know about your experiences in a smart hotel, but usually they call for you. AND the best bit was this was the duty manager was served me. Of all people you expect top notch service from, and he looked at me like I was being a pain. Taking into consideration we had spent a third in other places, with excellent service...I would never stay here or recommend this place to anyone. Read more

The locations was good, but it was too expensive for the lack of standards one could expect from a hotel claiming to provide the kind of standard/services like this one did. The restaurant's menue showed totally other prices than the bill eventually did. When we discussed this with the manager, he simply appologised for that (the non-updated menue) […] and added that the prices on the bill were the right ones.
