The Historical Manor - San Diego

We had a nice stay and the owner is a hoot. He made us a nice breakfast as well. The place is very old and could use some landscaping, but you have to see the phone booth under the stairs that is now home of a miniature animatronic carnival.

We were very pleased with this beautifully appointed home. The condition and amenities were the best! The owner, Chuck, was pleasant and had answers to all of our travel questions and what he didn't know.first hand had the answer in literally seconds. I highly recommend this B & B to everyone! It was a pleasant experience. The B&B has Interesting decor. Owner was very helpful and is an interesting person. They could use a better mattress. We had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was great! It was far better than the major hotels.

I absolutely loved my stay here. I often dread business trips and conferences because I usally cannot relex or sleep well at hotels. This place was the highlight of my trip and just as peaceful as being at home if not more. Nothing about this place was stressful.

I have never filled out one of these reviews, but had such a great experience, that I felt like I should. The Historical Manor far exceeded our expectations! Our trip was for a weekend of baseball and the manor was less than a mile from Petco Park. At night we cabed it back and it was about $6. The surrounding neighborhood is just that - a neighborhood […] that appears to be an area that is undergoing a transformation, so you have some run down homes next to homes that have been restored or remodeled. The people at the manor were extremely friendly and very much interested in making you feel like you are at home. It's almost like staying at a relatives house that you really really like! The manor is beautiful and the attention to detail is exquisite. Chuck is welcoming, friendly, and makes a delicious breakfast. It's an easy downhill walk to the Gas Lamp district and Petco Park through a neighborhood dotted with beautiful Victorians. Our cab rides back were about $6. It isn't terrible, but could definitely be better. Otherwise this is a wonderful place to stay for a night or a week. Meget hjælpsom vært. Utrolig hyggeligt værelse og badeværelse og huset i sig selv fantastisk smukt. Der var hygge over alle grænser. Beliggenhed i gåafstand (hvis man er let til bens) til "centrum" . The Historical Manor is meer een bed en breakfast dan een hotel, heeft een gemoedelijke huiselijke sfeer en een heel aparte inrichting met een allegaartje aan antieke spullen en rare kitsch. De eigenaar is ontzettend vriendelijk, je krijgt een prima (voor Amerikaanse begrippen gezond) ontbijt met fantastisch veel vers fruit, bagels, yoghurt, muesli […] etc. Je kunt je eigen gang gaan, bv. ook in de keuken thee zetten. Het centrum van San Diego (en het convention center) is op ca. 20 minuten tot een half uur loopafstand. Prima verblijf, echt een aanrader voor wie geen zin heeft in het onpersoonlijke van ketenhotels en de luxe van duurdere accomodaties niet nodig heeft. Read more
