I didn't mark all 5s just to be lazy or get the survey over with. I marked all 5s because that is how I rated my stay. Managers nice, rooms clean, very convienient location. I'll be back. Thanks DukeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Garibaldi Motel - convenient but not so nice"
The motel was very convenient for our needs, however, the room smelled VERY bad. Everything is old. The carpet needs to be replaced in order to get rid of the old smoke smell now covered up by Lysol or something. Also, the beds were like sleeping on cardboard. I just couldn't recommend this motel to anyone in good conscious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We only stayed one night as we were passing thru. It was the quietest hotel we had stayed in and we had been in 5 different ones in the last week in a half. We did not go down for breakfast so I am not sure what they offered. Sure it was not the Hilton, but it was clean, comfortable and safe as I was travelling with my girls without my husband.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy to find"
Other reviewers have said it all. It's old but clean. The bed and pillows were awful. That said, it was about what I expected for the price at the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"generally pleasing stay."
friendly staff in a quite quiet location, like the train that is located outside the hotel, not too noisy at night, room pretty clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Picking motel sight unseen turned out OK."
We had a good sleep due to the fact that the pillows were very, very, very comfortable. The windowscreen was holey and the bathroom sink cold water tap did not work at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good experience at the Econo Lodge"

What you can expect from a budget roadside motel. Clean and comfortable with no extras. Breakfast wasn't much even for a budget motel. Not much to do in Garibaldi if you don't like fishing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All right for the price. Rooms are spacy and beds are OK. Breakfast very limited. Staff is pleasant. Location is not great - near the harbour but not near seashore.Genuine Expedia guest review

Garibaldi's Econo Lodge served as a hub for our two days of sightseeing in this area. Conveniently, we could travel slightly south to Tillamook and Cape Lookout and head north to Rockaway Beach, Manzanita and Nehalem. In regards to our actual stay at Econo Lodge, we found that the staff was courteous and helpful when we needed a nudge in the right direction. Even though our hotel room(201)was decorated and furnished in the somewhat dated '70/'80s, it was clean and well-maintained. The morning's continental breakfast was located in the lobby and was just enough to start your day. Fine stay.

We stayed here just for one night, and you dont need much for that short period of time. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and nice, wifi worked and stuff was really kind. We were satisfied with this motel.
"Ok at best"

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but the "continental breakfast" was worthless and there was no coffee maker in the room. Coffee served in the lobby in the am was weak, the hot water for tea was luke warm and there was very little to eat. Just a small tasteless muffin that probably as a shelf life equal to a Twinkie and some oatmeal in a packet. No milk for coffee or oatmeal either. Go to Irish's Mooring Café instead. Also, it took two requests to get TP, which was almost out when we arrived.

Very friendly staff, clean room and comfortable bed. A cozy local breakfast cafe right next to it. Located right on route 101, close to the grocery store and the downtown area............................
"More than expected. Great Service and Clean Rooms"

I was not expecting much based on the cost and star value. The rooms were a little outdated--but this is to be expected per price. WOW-- I was greatly surprised. The rooms were very clean (cleaner than most 3 star on the coast). Although not close to sandy beaches (nothing in town is near sandy beaches-walking distance) we will stay here again & have more money to spend on playing. Staff were very friendly. Great eating place in same parking lot (where locals go)--cheap and yet great 'diner' food. Will stay here again !
"It worked for us"

We were looking for a clean, inexpensive room for one night on a road trip on the Oregon Coast. We knew this wouldn't be luxury, and it wasn't, but it fit the bill. I would give it a 7 out of 10 for cleanliness. It is right on the main drag, so yes, there will be road noise. Room could use some updating, but we were fine with it for the price and being on the coast. Would we stay here again? YES. The front desk employees were very friendly - and spoke perfect English with no accents so could be easily understood! The breakfast is stark, but we knew that before we came.

For the value we paid for this Motel I did not have great expectations but we were pleasantly surprised, the beds were very comfortable, the room was extremely clean, there is a steam train near the motel and you get to hear and see it run ( it stops at 9:00 PM so you still get quiet nites sleep), great Antique store directly across the street, local coffee shop 2 doors up the street which has fantastic home cooked food, one block away is a Marina and Pier which you can buy local fish and has a great restaurant. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay with a bonus of good value....
"Keep driving unless you're desperate"

Driving the beautiful Oregon coast, accommodations are a little bit of a challenge -- a lot of "mom & pop" type motels with mixed reviews. So, I decided to stick with brands I knew and trusted, including Choice Hotels which includes Econolodge. DO NOT go the the Garibaldi EconoLodge unless it's an emergency -- keep driving another 20 miles, north or south, and find a better place. The Econolodge is beat up, not very clean, the desk staff is surly and when they ran out of the breakfast they are supposed to provide, they said "Too bad. You need to get here early." I was there an hour before breakfast was supposed to end. Adding insult to injury, I left my favorite nightshirt there and when I called to see if they had found it in the laundry, the desk clerk said, "You leave property at your own risk." I know that -- I just thought they could at least see if it had turned up. I know EL is a budget chain but this property does not meet the standards for its brand or the CHoice Hotels banner.
"Great Budget Motel"

After the visitors center in Rockaway called every accommodations within 10 miles for us, the lady finally found us a vacancy at this motel in Garibaldi. We were extremely relieved to find somewhere to stay on a Friday in August during the Annual Tuna Classic. The Motel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and clean, and the shower was great! Lots of parking, and a great location. Kelley's restaurant is across the parking lot where we met some locals in the lounge and ate an amazing meal. We also had a few beers at the Ghost Hole on their flower filled patio. The locals were super friendly, and the service was great. We would stay here again!
"Good price, good service, good location."

I am a general manager for choice hotels, and Econo Lodge is a low scale so I expect this to be a little run down, this one is by far the best one i'ver stayed at so far. The front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was very spacious and had a very neat view of the passing Oregon Coast Railroad, that does not run during the night thank god, and it is a very old steam engine, so my nephew who was with made his whole stay. He stared out the window for almost a whole hour just amazed. When a place has a good view like that to entertain an 8 year old for that long, then they have something going right for them. To add to the luxury of the establishment, a nice very inexpensive restaurant with awesome food and very yummy strawberry french toast. Kelley's place is the name of the joint. Made everything very conveinient for having everything so close. I was a little nervous about the small fishing town atmosphere but when my brother in law and me went to the local lounge, Ghost Hole Public House, the locals were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back to this hotel, and for any future reference if your thinking of staying, remember that it is not a Hilton, it is an Econo Lodge and they are doing one hell of a job making this place comfortable and accommodating. I am a general manger for a choice hotel and I am very proud to have this establishment in out franchise. Keep up all the good work guys, well see you again soon. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
