The staff at the reception area seems to be annoyed with the clients they did not show a friendly attitude and seemed rather confused about what was going on with the 3rd party charge just a very unprofessional check in; but the cleaning stafff was great and that was all of the interaction. The room was good the bathroom was great would stay again I would just want a better rate. Thank you.
Location.

"The Waldorf"
Absolutly great service room was awesome a few things we didnt care for were the pillows the cheap toilet paper andfor the price we paid the view was not good.

I had read the reviews and saw all 5 stars from the prior reviewers. I would definitely agree! We requested to not be near the elevator when we checked in. They upgraded us to the Gold Coast Suite!
"Hotel Elysian - close to great restaurants"
The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful & courteous. If the room was lacking something, the staff was willing to provide it or get it for you. The location is fantastic -- close to great restaurants & only a couple blocks from Michigan Avenue in the Gold Coast.

This was my first stay, but I liked it more than the Ritz Carlton and the W Hotel. The rooms are beautiful, very large and well laid out, super clean, with big bathrooms. The service was also very seamless, both front desk and door service. The only issues I had were 1) the gym is not 24 hours, closes at 10pm and 2) my room seemed like it was recently […] painted, so very new, but a bit of paint smell, but this is a temporary issue. "Amazing hotel"
Awesome friendly service, beautiful hotel with lots of amenities in a great downtown location. Was here for business but will definitely be bringing my husband back here for a fun weekend next time we are in Chicago. My travel schedule had me there at noon and they even let me check in 3 hours early, no hassle at all. Excellent service.

They Elysian Hotel was immaculate and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Check in was smooth and they helped in any way possible to make the experience the best it could be. The Balsan Restaurant that they have there is absolutely AMAZING!!!! We had brunch, lunch, and dinner there at our stay. All of the staff from the host to the bartender […] to the waitstaff made sure that they made your experience there the best!!! The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Fast, friendly, and you never felt rushed at all. I will definitely go there again and i will highly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone!!! "UNMTACHED EXPERIENCE EVER!!!"
My wife and I travel to Chicago often. I am originally from there, and love to spend time there each year. We have stayed an multiple hotels, and the Elysian was the best experience we have ever had....ever! Not only in Chicago, but in any city. Staff was incredible! They remembered our names, were overboard willing to help accommodate any requests, […] the house car even brought us to a reservation for dinner that they set for us. The rooms are unbelievably comfortable....and the door bell on the rooms was super nice as were were there with some other friends. Room service food was better than anywhere I have gone. The Spa is unbelievable. Work out room off the hook. Views were great! One other thing was that this past weekend was Lalapaloza. Several of the bands were staying at the Hotel at the same time we were there. They never treated my wife and I, or our party, any differently, with all the commotion. This was impressive to me as my wife and I own a multi-million dollar restaurant business and never felt like our stay, business or experience was any less than their high profile guests. Access to shopping district, fantastic restaurants, and Michigan Ave. was within a block. EVERYONE should stay here at some time. I NEVER write up a review as I am too busy...but I had to this time. Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights. Arrived early and staff took bags and called me on my cell phone when room was ready. It was my wife and I 15 yr anniversary and the women who checked us in left us a personal note in our room with a small treat to enjoy. Hotel is located a few blocks from train station and walking distance to everything. Room was spacious and well-appointed with amenities. The staff left a card at the nightstand with weather forecast for next few days which was a nice personal touch I have never seen before at a hotel I stayed at. We both used gym facilities, equipment was clean and newer, only downfall is not alot of space to lift free weights. The Elysian is a beautiful hotel with a first class staff. Loved everything about this hotel. A very secluded feeling in the middle of a great location. Great restaurants and shopping are steps away. The private courtyard entrance is just the beginning of the privacy you feel at the Elysian. Rooms and bathrooms are very large and decorated beautifully. The best place to stay in Chicago! My wife and I went on beautiful walks to the lake, beaches & Navy Pier. I will always stay at the Elysian after this last visit to Chicago. The staff was over the top. Worth every penny spent.

Wanted to take my boyfriend to Chicago for his birthday, unfortunately, it was the same week as the Food & Restaurant Show...all hotels booked except for $45 motels or very expensive rooms. Found the Elysian by accident...booked it and we are now in LOVE with it. What service! Worth every penny. We never wanted to leave the room. Plenty of "nice touches" […] from the umbrellas available when it was pouring rain to the Lexus ride to the restaurant or train station. "The Elysian is AMAZING!"
We were very pleased with our stay. We were in the biggest suite and found all the amenities and accomodations just perfect. From the goose down pillows to the awesome Ipod docking station with amazing sound quality - we were impressed. We loved the bathtub and shower layout and the TV in the mirror in the bath was cool! We wished we had stayed longer! […] And it was so close to shopping and a ton of great restaurants! We went to the famous SPRINKLES and got cupcakes (as seen on Oprah). BEAUTIFUL!!! We loved it there, the only problem was my husbands key card didn't work and it took a day to get a new one. Our bed was not made the next day and a burger we ordered through room service was not up to our expectations. They did bring another one with a dessert and did not charge us at all.
