Positives: Close to the beach and restaurants. Large room with 2 beds, separated by the bathroom, so there's a little privacy if you're sharing the room. Negatives Door did not seem very secure. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. The front desk lady was so sweet and was very accommodating when asked a question. She made the visit very homely. The hotel rooms are as expected, simple and clean. The decor is fine. Great little breakfast and free wireless in your bedroom if you could get it. A great holiday hotel.

The room we had was a Garden suite. The back door frame was comming apart, the door did not have all the secondary lock on it and the main lock with a bit of a push the door would open. The carpets were well worn. The bathroom was from the 70s, the tiles around the wall were cracked and some tiles in the shower were missing, it also could do with a […] paint. The bedroom was ok so was the living area but both were still dated.The front sliding door was better than the front but still needed some work on it. With that in mind the staff and breakfast was great. I cant comment on the rest of the rooms but ours was not like the picture. Read more

If you want a place just for sleep got to this hotel. There is no WiFi available inside rooms. I've never been in such a awful hotel.

Was very good, the wife and I enjoyedit wish we could have stayed longer :( Apart from that we had a noisey group wake us up out the front which I doubt the hotel could have dealt with.

This hotel is very very run down. My mum sister and I were travelling Australia and with a lot of luggage had to lift it up 3 flights of stairs as there is no lift. The inside of the room was less frightening than the outside. Incredible view!! Friendly staff. Despite very friendly staff and lovely position, this hotel is very old and hopefully very soon will be pull down. If you planing to visit, please be prepared.....otherwise you will get shock (as we did when I arive there with overseas visitor and get very embaresed)

The building is in dire need of a "spruse up". Parts of the facade mouldings and other parts have fallen off, the building apperes tired and "not washed". The walkways are cracking up. The room (118) was reasonably spartan in its furniture and fittings. Only bright side was the size of the room and the staff was very friendly. WE arrived just after a huge storm that flooded the street and the hotel car park. Offered an upgrade and given 2 upgradelevels with a top view of the ocean. Reception staff excellent. Facility aged but good value. Would certainly stay again due price , location to the main street and service

We had a great time at the Continental Hotel. The location was excellent and the sound of the waves at night was relaxing. The nearby restaurants, shops and facilities were fantastic and easy to get to.I would recommend the Hotel to all my friends.

The staff were very nice, the rooms clean and comfortable, the noise of the patrons was pretty bad.

My family enjoyed our stay. The hotel has cosy comfortable bed and wardrobe. Our room has kitchen which we cooked our food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the heart of Melbourne where the cafes and good restaurants is located.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located near retail shops and restaurants. Beautiful view right in front of hotel if you book a seaview room. The sofe bed was uncomfortable.

We booked two 1 bed apartments and we were put in a two bed apartment with heaps of stairs and two people had to sleep on a very uncomfortable sofa bed. The manager was very sympathetic but in the end only offered a 10% discount on our next stay. We had paid for the two apartments up front but there was no refund of the difference offered. Really enjoyed our short stay at The Continental. The location was ideal across the road from the water and a very short walk to the shops. The room and balcony had a lovely view overlooking Western Port Bay. The temperature of the room was pleasant and the King size bed was very comfortable. Check in was very easy and fast, The suite for 3 adults was comfortable and the continental breakfast was more than expected. The only downside was some other guests didn't go to bed until 3am. Their talking kept waking us up, otherwise a very nice experience

We loved staying at this hotel! The view of the bay was lovely, the hotel room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and there was a very nice breakfast to be had in the dining room. Highly recommended to families and couples wanting a break on Phillip Island.

Across the road from the beach and close to main street, great location. The garden suite we stayed in was a basic cabin and although clean it was cold (in September) and barely comfortable. A very convenient spot, but glad we booked a garden room as it was away from the road. Rooms a little dated but very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Would stay there again!

The hotel was rather rundown and short of staff. Rooms were chilly and the toilet was freezing...and this was only Autumn. Can't imagine if it was Winter! The place is more like a motel not good enough to be called a hotel. No lifts, and the staircase is out in the open, so carrying the luggage up 3 flights of stairs in the cold was a real pain. overall my stay in the hotel was good , however i had troubles in parking my car. house keeping of the room was good nevertheless it could've been better by providing cuttleries (table spoons and nives).

In a good location in Cowes right near the beach and pier and local shops and cafes. Hotel, sadly very dated in appearance ie look of motel rooms, doors and passage ways, on the outside, would of driven off if not pre-booked. Emplacement idéal pour faire tout à pied dans la ville, et à 30s à pied de la plage et de l'embarcadère. L'accueil est très bon et les chambre sans prétention mais propres et bien entretenus. Le parking est gratuit ainsi que le petit déjeuner (ce qui est plutôt rare), et le rapport qualité/prix est très bon. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter.
