"a hotel that works"Reviewed by corey e of "doha, qatar" on Nov 10, 2011
I stayed here for 3.5 days during my recent trip to Muscat for Eid. I live/work in Qatar as an ex-pat so I am quite familiar with the Middle East and what to anticipate. I was there for tourism and hiking, so all I required was a basic hotel room. This hotel was located just outside of the city but close to a nice beach area with shops and restaurants, and about a 4-5 OR cab ride to central Muscat. The hotel did not have detailed maps of any sort, but with a guide book you should be ok. Noise in the area was minimal and the room was very basic for a stop over here. If you are expecting a 4-5 star hotel, this is not the place for you.
"Private, quiet, perfect location, WiFi ?"Reviewed by Bruce D of "Salt Lake City" on Nov 4, 2011
A beautiful location, small, attentive staff, needs to upgrade so WiFi is in rooms. Otherwise, wonderful. Bruce Salt Lake

"A nice treasure in an intemate city"
The hotel is conveniently located close to everything that you would want to visit in Muscat city and close by cities. The staff and management were nice and make you feel as if you were the only guest. The room was clean and nicely furnished fully lined with marble and natural stone tiles. The breakfast was good for a three star hotel. The neighborhood […] was quite and mostly residential. You would need a car to visit touristic places and shopping malls. Read more
"Treasurebox"
Nothing special but a good hotel for the price. Breakfast selection was not the best but again this is reflected in the price. I arrived at 11pm and left at 9am and for this purpose the hotel was fine. Used the free wifi in the lobby which worked well. In the room it is chargeable. Overall would stay here for a short in and out stay but not somewhere […] to take your significant other for a romantic weekend. Read more
"Accomodation close to Sultan Qabos"
but far away from other attractions. Check in was not handled professionally. Rooms are spacious and clean, nice bathroom , Breakfast accordingly to the hotel's standard.
"Hotel near Grand Mosque"
Once you find this hotel (not easy), it is excellent value for money, clean, modern, large rooms, quiet. Staff are very welcoming. The only complaint was that we asked for a breakfast tray as we were leaving at 3.00am for a flight, and it was really skimpy -- not equal to the breakfast buffet that was included in the price. Two thin slices of bread, […] a croissant, a 1/2 slice of cheese and a 1/2 slice of cold meat -- barely more than a snack. The hotel booked us a taxi to the airport and said it would cost 10 Omani rials, regardless of number of people or bags. Guess what, the taxi driver insisted that it was 12 rials, due to the time of night and the size of our two bags! $5 extra just because he said so. The hotel needs to manage their subcontractors better. Read more
"Excellent hotel for the price, very friendly staff"
Very happy with my stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout, couldnt be happier on that front. The hotels location is a bit difficult to find, even for some local taxi drivers, even though it is still central, because it is in a mostly residential area. But had an excellent stay overall and would highly recommend it for the middle […] end of the market. Read more
"Good value"
Close to the airport and Qurm beach, this hotel is quite, clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly. The food is not amazing but adequate. While its close to a number of good restaurants along Sultan Qaboos St, its quite a distance from the main tourism areas of Old Muscat and Muttrah, so make sure you hire a car as you could be paying 10-15RO […] per taxi ride. Otherwise a good stay. Read more
I stayed in the hotel with my colleague for a medical exam in Royal Hospital which is just 1.5 km from there. I wonder why anyone should stay here if it is not for the same purpose. Very poor location. definitely overpriced as some other hotels in Oman. If you want something to eat (even light snacks) late night you need a take a taxi. Breakfast quite […] average, as is the food quality. Positives of the hotel were spaciousness of room, cleanliness and extremely courteous and helpful staff. Read more
"Clean, friendly base in Oman."
We stayed here while diving in Oman. The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. It was a nice comfortable hotel in a location close to the Great Mosque - even walking distance. The breakfast was good with a good amount of food and did not close too early. Rooms were clean and spacious with a large bathroom and a fridge. Down sides; location, […] this is not a hotel if you don't have a car and want to travel around allot. There is no pool or terrace so you need to pay to use another hotels facilities and this can get expensive. There is no bar and the lobby is very quiet in the evening. I would also not eat at any western location in Oman - eat local and save money. This is a base hotel, somewhere to rest your head, leave your stuff and eat a decent breakfast and get a helping hand where you need it. I would stay here again for another dive holiday but would make sure I hire a car rather than haggle with taxis (make sure you do, they WILL try and up the price.) they will ask for 6 OMR for a short journey - they will go down to 3 or 4. "Bon hôtel proche de l'aéroport"
Hôtel pas loin de l'aéroport, très pratique quand on arrive tard à Mascate. . Chambre spacieuse, très propre. Petit déjeuner buffet simple.
