The approach to the hotel left us a little flat, but once inside, we found it pleasant and staff helpful. The breakfast was quite good. Only down side, the hallways needed sprucing up a bit. Bedroom, bed, bathroom, shower, all very satisfactory.

We walked in to a man who was nice but overrall apperance not so much. It looked like frosty left alot of flakes behind. The hotel smelled like a barn/bathroom. First thing i see is a dirty washcloth behind the garbage from the person before, no microwave, the tv was blurry and outdated, if you need wifi you are going to have to hit up starbucks. If you have children run. If you have money and can go somewhere else run.

Stayed here for 4 nights, our AC never worked but it was nice outside. No wifi where we were. Everyone there was nice and pleasant. The hotel could use some updates but it was over all a good stay.

bar and grill is closed down. breakfast was good, room was dirty. hotel is under renovation, has possibilities. need a new cleaning staff. all ice machines were broke. couple we were with had to change rooms because of cleanliness issues.

The overall experience was terrible. I found cigarette buts on the floor in multiple area of the room. TV did not work. Towels were yellow. Mattress had a 5 inch depression in the center. There was a used bar of soap in the shower. The only positive was the girl working the counter when I checked in was very nice and professional and did all she could to correct the issues I had.

Nice lobby and breakfast area, my room was clean,but the toilet kept running and the sink linked when you washed your hands and brushed your teeth. there is no indoor pool, no lounge or restaurant on property. The ice machines don't work and there is no elevator, not enough staff to help with bags.

We checked out as soon as we checked in. The bed was like a hammock. I felt that we were either going to be robbed or mugged during the night, The place stunk of smoke and it was totally disgusting. We were sent there by expedia who said this hotel was equivalent to a Marriot. Not at all.

A hotel employee stole my shopping bag with new clothing worth over $100. that I purchased from the nearby mall, during the Easter weekend. I forgot my bag the lobby during checkout. When I realized that I forgot the bag I called the hotel and the front desk staff confirmed that she had the bag. When my daughter went to pick up the bag today, the bag could not be found. The staff person who told me she had the bag developed amnesia and the tape in the lobby video camera had been erased. I will never stay at this hotel again.

WHEN WE FIRST ARRIVED THE CARPORT WAS LEAKING WITH BLACK MOLD ON THE CEILING. AS WE WALKED DOWN THE HALL TO THE ROOM THERE WAS BADLY STAINED AND MISSING CEILING TILES FROM WATER DAMAGE. THE ROOM HAD NO WORKING PHONE . NO OUTLETS BY THE DESK AND THE HEATERS DIDNT WORK IN ONE OF THE ROOMS THE OTHER IT JUST WENT ON AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. OUR MAID SERVICE WAS RANDOM AND ONE OF THE ROOMS WAS JUST NOT CLEANED DAILY. WE TRIED TO COMPLAIN TO A MANAGER WHICH THERE NEVER SEAMED TO BE ONE AROUND NOR DID HE EVER TRY TO CALL ME WHEN I LEFT MY PHONE NUMBER AT THE DESK . IN THE HALLWAY TO THE ROOM DIRTY BED LINENS STAYED FOR 24 HOURS AS WELL AS A LUGGAGE DOLLY FOR THE ENTIRE STAY. THE ICE MAKERS DIDNT WORK . IT WAS JUST DISGUSTING . AT BREAKFAST WE ASKED FOR A KNIFE AND THE STAFF RETRIVED ONE FROM BACK KITCHEN . BEFORE HANDING IT TO US SHE WIPED IT WITH HER FINGERS THIS IS A MAJOR HEALTH VIOLATION WE ASKED FOR ANOTHER THAT SHE DIDNT CLEAN WITH HER BARE HANDS ! I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY

Not the cleanest or best maintained hotel in the area. The price may be attractive but in my opinion it may be worth paying a little more for something else. I was only there overnight and you probably don't want to be there any longer than that.

we had a smoking room. The room was clean. Our check in person was great, friendly, helpful and funny!! Some amenities were missing such as water cup or coffee cup...but overall stay was good... would stay again.

My bf and I just wanted a place that was cheap for a couple of days. The service was ok. No one cleaned the room but the front desk was very professional. The bathroom wasn't too clean. Other than that we had a nice stay.

My room was fairly clean, the bathroom was clean(but FREEZING, although for someone else that would have been just fine, I just hate the cold) The Ice machine in the hall didn't work which was kind of a bummer but not too big of a deal. Check in/out was quick and pretty simple. All in all my stay at this hotel was OK.

I feel like I need to give this hotel the review that it deserves. I stayed in this hotel for twelve (12) nights, through the Christmas holiday. This is truly a 3.5 star hotel that is trying to get a revival from it's booming IBM days. I have to tell you that I equated my experience with that of the well known Poughkeepsie Grand. Therefore, if you're familiar I would suggest that you save 60% and stay at Mercury Grand. Here's the scoop...The staff: excellent! Cleanliness: although the hotel is dated, it is clean. It's certainly not a brand new Holiday Inn Express, but they are clean despite the dated materials that they have to work with. I never saw a single bug of any type either. Condition: okay, so other reviewers are complaining about leaks and the roof. Here's the bottom line... if there isn't a leak in your room or causing you some sort of grief or discomfort, why do you care if there is a roof issue in an area of the overhang at the front entrance? I mean really, who cares? They need a new roof, not a bad rating because they need a new roof. To me, I would rather have a clean comfortable room, and encounter a pleasant staff than worry about their roof. Breakfast: sigh, I wish that this was better. Stick to the waffles. This is the best deal in Poughkeepsie, hands down.

The ceiling in the entrance needed repair. The utensils in the cafeteria were dirty. The room was clean and comfortable. Every thing from shopping centers to restaurants were close to the hotel. Olive Garden was literally within walking distance. Overall the staff was courteous and the hotel was nice.

The first assigned room the bedding sheets were stained.If it was'nt for the fact that the bed skirting on the box spring was not there we would not have noticed how badly ripped the box spring was to a point that .the coils were exposed. The moment you entered the front of hotel you can see decaying on the drive up canopy. Also an indication that the hotel was not frequented by many was that including our vehicle there were a total of 4 vehicles in the entire lot.

Just because a place is inexpensive doesn't mean it is has to have bad service. We were first put in a room with a hole in the wall, rips in the curtains and a smoke alarm with a battery that was low so it was making a chirping sound. We were shown another room after asking but why is this room even available? Also we had an extra guest and asked for a roll away bed. We were told that they had beds but the one of the staff had accidentally taken the key to the storage room where the beds were located. I would stay away from this place until they get their act together!

The room was adequate for my family's needs, but the hotel is quite run down. Buffet breakfast is below par, but hot and free. My friends had to request another room because of the fire alarm was chirping and the heater was broken (it was a chilly night). The staff was pleasant. The location was convenient to our destination.

This hotel is run down and in need of repairs. Under new ownership. TV was unwatchable due to static reception, light bulb missing from nightstand, dirty bathtub and water temperature was either too hot or cold. Thank heavens we were only booked for one evening.

We stayed on a Friday night. The hotel rents its ballroom facility for private parties. This one lasted until about 4 am with boom-boom music that literally made the walls in our room vibrate. Very unpleasant.

Hotel was in horrible disrepair. Weeds were grown to the size of small trees around the outdoor "pool." One of the most interesting features of our stay was our "breakfast buffet in the dark." No lights above the breakfast buffet table, which was sparse at best. Included on the breakfast buffet was a large plastic tub that was catching the water dripping from the leaking ceiling above it. Wild horses couldn't get me to stay there again.

Hotel is not clean. Needs new towels, new carpet in the rooms, new bed covers (bad and with holes on it). This hotel, being so close to the colleges in poughkeepsie needs a urgently to be a clean place to stay. Rooms were not so clean, and bed covers had many holes on them.

Room relatively clean, but hallways smelled. Disappointed in lack of wi-fi (no internet), no ice nearby (had to walk to front office to get ice), no elevator (husband has bad knees), and no NBC channel to watch seaon premier of SNL

line for checkin, room lights/clock not connected, no lit sign in parking lot to find the hotel in the dark. Surprisingly good breakfast, decent cleanliness in room but not immaculate. Would have expected more for price.
