My husband and I drove up to this hotel and loved the looks of this hotel. the architecture of this older hotel was awesome. the room was clean, and the bed super comfy! We will stay there again, and reccomend it to others.

We had pre-paid for a river view room, but the only rooms available were double queen-bed rooms, so we opted for a king-bed room on the city view side of the hotel. Unfortunately, it was right off the elevator hallway so we could hear the Muzak through the walls. It was turned down to a quieter volume at night, luckily. The hotel is very hip and has […] a rooftop bar that is attractive to many, so there are lots of non-guests on property. Room key required to access guest room floors, however, so there was a modicum of privacy. The entire staff was great. Did everything they could for our comfort. The room was a little small with no chairs to sit for reading, etc. The only chair in the room was at the desk. Really could not even order room service. However, the TV and electronic system was wonderful. I want it in my house. Overall, a most enjoyable experience.

We were greeted kindly by all the hotel staff we came across. The decor was one of a kind, hard to explain the exact style but if I had to, I'd say it was neo-gothic. Rooms were amazing, bed was super comfortable, made it a bit hard to get out of bed in the morning. We were also greeted to soft jazz playing in our room on a Bose stereo. The bathrooms […] were glorious, with tile from floor to ceiling, and separate areas for the toilet (which was a 5 star toilet due to its water preserving capabilities) and large rainfall shower. The upstairs bar, which is open to the public, was superb with wonderful views and fun atmosphere. The bartenders/waiters we had in both the restaurant and bar were more than gracious and even though they were extremely busy, never made us feel awkward for making a unique request (i.e. asking for them to take a picture of us). The only thing that was a tad bit unusual for a hotel of this quality was the lack of a mini-fridge or vending machine. If you are a younger couple looking for a unique experience that is close to a large amount of local tourist attractions, I would recommend staying at the Bohemian. Another tip is to be aware there is no pool in this facility but because it is owned by the same proprietor of the Mansion on Forsythe, guests have access to all of the Mansions facilities as well. Ritz Carlton service. Delicious light meal served from roof top..enjoyed great breakfast sitting by river in their 1st floor restaurant . The room had every amenity and the latest in technology. Expensive, yes. Location on River, the best. It has 75 well appointed rooms, it's beautiful and there is NOTHING on the river that can touch it. However, we where not bowled over by the service, the staff tries to please but only goes so far. To their credit they are NOT tip hounds either. But they can come off as lackadaisical at times case in point.. […] Three housekeeping nits: a bobby pin left on the floor by previous guest in plain site was never swept up same deal with some long brunet hair in the bathroom, we used our water glasses and one of two wine goblets on the 1st night but glasses where never replaced 2 nights later, our paper cups got replaced though. That was puzzling. The food and food/drink service in the restaurant and roof top bar was very good. Not cheap/not chintzy and eatable for Rocks. The rooftop bar (Rocks On The Roof) suffers from it's own success.. it is often overcrowd during prime time with non-hotel guests the drinks are good but pricey as are the appetizers. The experience there was more expen$ive than any meal/drinking during my stay. BTW we asked for a KING corner room selected during booking and specified that in instructions, we did not get and NO explanation was offered we could only assume this was attributed to booking through Expedia and NOT paying the TOP rate.. our double queen had a large shower but NO bathtub, we like showers so that was not an issue Read more

Wonderful, eclectic decor, absolutely fabulously comfortable beds, great location and helpful and courteous staff. Lovely rooftop bar with great views over the Savannah River. Concierge desk staff were very accommodating although some were a bit inexperienced with certain dining recommendations. Wonderful hotel. The view of the river was beautiful and soothing and the room was comfortable and eclecticly decorated. My eight year-old didn't accompany me on this particular trip, but I kept imagining how excited he would have been watching all the activity on the river. I'm in the service business and I recognize excellence when I see it. The Bohemian was first rate all the way. We didn't know it when we booked, but we soon learned upon arrival that the Bohemian was one of the newest hotels in Savannah- always a nice surprise. The staff was very well trained, very friendly and positive and went out of their way to […] make sure the guests were well attended. The rooms were very new and clean and very well appointed. The location of the hotel on the Savannah River was supurb- providing spectacular views of the river and its ocean going vessels, and yet was only a short walk to the Old Historic District which included an abundance of shopping choices, restaurants, churches, the magnificant Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and many historical settings. The Old Historic District has a Currier & Ives feeling as virtually every property in the District is pristine. We were delighted we chose the Bohemian Hotel which contributed to making our trip to Savannah quite remarkable. If there was a better choice for a hotel in downtown Savannah, I didn't see it. I would go back to The Bohemian in a heartbeat and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly great experience. Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Bohemian for our honeymoon, and neither of us could have been more pleased. The decor of the hotel is spectacularly unusual. If you gave a goth interior designer free reign and a very generous budget, this is what you would get. The artwork is *fabulous* in the rooms, in the restaurants, at the bar on the roof, in the lobby, […] even the purple lights decorating the trees outside, it was all perfectly and tastefully eccentric. The boxing paintings on the rooftop bar should not be missed. Even the headboards for the beds, the dark tiled modern shower with highly unique frosted glass will grab your attention right away. THe light fixtures made with a spiderweb of decorative beads adorn most if not all of the lights. I could ramble for hours. The whole hotel was unusual in the very best way. But wait ... because the staff was even better. They were polite, helpful, knowledgeable, and always seemed to have a minute to spare if you needed it, and I mean every one of them from the bellman, to the check in desks (which were, I should mention, actual hardwood beautiful desks rather than the standard walk up to the counter type hotels), to the managers, waiters, room cleaning staff, everyone. Even in Savannah, where courtesy is the cultural norm, this hotel stood out. Still not done ... the restaurant on the first floor facing the river had outstanding cuisine, and as an extensive traveller, I can tell you that hotel cuisine usually sucks, but this food was excellent. Try the traditional benedict or the french toast benedict for breakfast. It's to die for. The bar on the rooftop was elegant, architected such that even very loud conversational levels were still much more muted and less oppressive than normal. Was our first trip to Savannah, and couldn't have asked for better accomidations. We arrived a little before check-in time, and were able to check out luggage while we waited for a room to be ready. After reading a few reviews, we wanted a room above the 4th floor (Lobby) for the best view of the river. At about 4pm we entered a wonderful room, with […] a balcony overlooking River Street. Valet parking was reasonable and convenient with only a ten or so min wait for your car to be brought to the front of the hotel anytime you needed it. I do not normally write reviews, but I found the hotel wonderful and hope to help others out in their decision, which I know can be difficult. The Bohemian is a smaller (75 rooms or so), beautiful hotel on the Savannah riverfront. The room was on the small side, but it had one of the best hotel beds ever. While the room was quite warm upon entry, it […] was spotless and the air conditioning was quiet (if slightly slow in cooling the room). Road noise was not particularly a problem in the city-facing room, nor was the elevator even though the room was just on the other side. Occassionally, people in the hallway could be heard. In the room, the television had free wireless internet, though which you could watch Netflix movies or regular programming. Two things of note about the room: (1) it had a large shower but no bath (some rooms do have baths, but this could be a problem for families with small children) and (2) the lighting was slightly dark, especially in the bathroom. While the roof bar drinks were slightly expensive, the food at both the bar and restaurant did not seem overly expensive when compared to other area restaurants.Tthe food seemed better than the average hotel restaurant, though there were definitely good things (the steak salad) and items to avoid (hamburger). About the service, when asked, everyone went out of their way to be of assistance. The "Privacy Please" notice remained on the room door during the stay and housekeeping respected it. Read more

The hotel is very nice. The art work is really interesting. I like the boutique feeling of the hotel. The rooms are decent size. The shower is huge. There is not bathtub.,( which was fine with me). The roof top bar is really nice. Great views of the river as well as a great place to watch the sunset. The restaurant downstairs was very good as well. […] The location is wonderful to walk the riverfront. The water taxi is very close to go across the river the convention center and the Westin. It is great as well because you can also use the facilities at the Mansion Hotel which is by Forsyth Park. They have a cute little pool, nice restaurant and great bar upstairs. They have a shuttle that will take you to and from each property. The driver of the shuttle was very helpful with dinner suggestions as well. The only draw backs to the Boehemian that i can come up with is that there is no refrigerator in the room. The lighting in the bathroom is very dark. Read more
