Hanoi Luxor Hotel - Hanoi

The hotel located in the heart of 36 pho phuong, the room was a nice size with a king sized bed, 32" flat screen TV and desk. It is hard to believe how quiet the rooms are when there are stores/vendors and motor bikes noises all around you. The staff was friendly and they can speak English as well.

The only redeeming quality of the hotel was the front desk manager (forgot her name). The hotel is in the old quarter but not close to anything one would want to see. We had to walk or take a taxi, which were not expensive, to shop or see the main sites of Hanoi. Walking was a challenge with the confusing streets starting and stopping at any given intersection. […] It is a small hotel with a small, crowded room. No drawers to unpack one's clothes - we had to work out of our suitcases for 4 days. Shower did not work properly. Very unsavory smell from the kitchen every morning and night - like old grease being reheated and burned. No restaurants in the area, only food was at the small restaurant in the basement. The choices were not to our liking. For those visiting Hanoi, stay closer to the major sites and major shopping streets. May be more expensive but you will enjoy Hanoi more. Read more

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 7 days in January. The staff made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Reception spoke very good English , booked tours and advised me where to go. The Luxor is perfectly located, easy to get around once you get used to the chaotic traffic. The room was kept quite clean with all of the amenties. Our stay at the Luxor hotel was just what we wanted. It's position is ideal for pretty much everything that we did. The room was exceptionally clean. The only downer we had was the sight of cockroaches in the breakfast room. I know that this is a problem with all hotels, including those I've stayed at in London. Despite this it did not detract from […] the quality of our stay. The real highlight to the hotel are those members of staff on Reception and the Doormen that we dealt with every day. They were superb! Nothing was too much for them and every day they had a smile that made dealing with them a pleasure. the one minor problem we had was sorted out 'as if by magic' (she knows who we are talking about!!). We stayed at the hotel for five nights, only booking it several days before. It was excellent value and in a superb position in the Old Quarter of the city. The room was comfortable and very very clean which always matters too us. The sight of cockroaches in the basement breakfast room (which looked a bit tired) was a bit off-putting but I accept that […] most hotels in any major city will probably suffer from this - they do in London too! The breakfast room staff, like Reception, were very good indeed. The highlight of our stay at the hotel was the Reception and Portering staff who were absolutely excellent in all that they did. They displayed a real sense of warm humour and always smiled. It was a joy to speak to them every day which cannot be said for all other hotels. The tours they organised for us with ease and nothing was too much for them. Well done to the hotel management for employing such good staff. We had a superior (the lowest class) of room which opened onto the lift lobby and light well but which was blissfully quiet - those opening onto the street may have been noisier. The room had more facilities than many four times the price in Europe including bathrobes, a safe, a reasonably price mini-bar, fresh fruit every day and free mineral water. […] The included breakfast was also delicious with fresh fruit, local dishes and freshly made omelettes. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Being a small hotel they did not have a sufficiently large generator to power the whole hotel during power cuts, two of which occurred during our three day stay. The restaurant was also not always open at the times advertised. The location in the north end of the Old Quarter was excellent, easily walkable to the lake and the heart of the tourist area but in an area where people did not try to sell you things as soon as you set foot out of the hotel. Our stay at the Luxor was very pleasant. Value for money you could not fault and the service was brilliant. They could improve the hotel by almost another star if they were to carpet the corridors. Probabaly the noiseiest hotel I have ever stayed in and not from the outside noise!

we stayed the family suite room for a whole week. The staff are very helpful and provide quality customer service, always with a warm smile. Our room was at the top floor, the light on the stairway was not working - as soon as we mentioned it, they told us they were already working on it, and when we came back in the afternoon, its already been fixed. […] The reception staff solved our problem of changing our tour days and accomodation. Wnn man nicht viele Ansprüche hat ist das Hotel ok. Sehr sauber , liegt zentral, unweit weg von der Roten Brücke und dem Barviertel. Alles schön zu Fuss erreichbar. Zum Schlafen eben ok!

Mycket prisvärt hotel. Personalen ordnade allt från sigtseeing, hämtning på flygplatsen, till privat chaufför till Halong Bay 3 dagar. De rekomenderade också restauranger som vi provade med mycket gott resultat!

Nice hotel with friendly, polite staff and good breakfast. Our room was clean and had complimentary water and fruit, but it didn't have a window, which made it a bit gloomy. Advantage is that there is no noise from the relatively busy street outside. Good value for the money.

This is a very convenient hotel which everything is within 20 minutes walking distance. The 2-day Halong Bay tour arranged by the hotel is also good but just the bus is a little bit crowded on the road.

旧市街の北部、ホンキエン湖と西湖の中間あたりに位置している。問屋街の北端あたりにあり、観光にはおすすめのロケーション。ビジネスで利用するには、インターネットの接続もよく問題なし。朝食のビュッフェも種類も多く値段に比べると合格点以上。ホテルの従業員もフレンドリーで、親切。英語はほぼ問題なく通じる。私自身はビジネスでの滞在だったため、コストパフォーマンスには満足している。ホテルに何を求めるのかによるが、ホテル自体の快適さを求めるなら、もっと高いホテルに泊まるべきだろう。

一番安い部屋をとったが、清潔で、お湯もかなり熱いのが出て、快適であった。当部屋は窓がなく、女房は少し、不満であったが、殆ど、寝るだけに使用したため、価格を考えれば、大満足でした。 尚、毎日のペットボトルの水、果物、インスタントコーヒーパック、ティパックも毎日、提供してくれた。朝食もビュッフェで内容も毎日かわり、卵料理は、その場で調理してくれ、若者には、十分過ぎると思われた。スタッフもフレンドリーで、対応も良い。

The room vi were given did not turn out to be as the one on hotels.com webpage. We were put in a room without any windows and thus an unpleasent climate and room tempeture. Otherwise the personel in the hotel were kind and helpfull. The breakfast menu was likewise good. Overall the stay was fine considering the price.
