"Wonderful B&B. Great breakfast and views."
This is an incredible spot. Wouldn't change a thing. Staff/owners are so polite. Service was excellent. They even whipped up gluten-free batter, just to make my wife a waffle. Awesome. Our new go-to place.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fabulous breakfasts and charming owners made for a relaxing get-away weekend. We stayed in the Whissenhut room and enjoyed the cozy fireplace and mountain views. Bed was a little soft but everything else about our stay was perfect. We'll be back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A-1 Comfort and Relaxation"
Fantastic B&B with an abundant amenities! Many thanks to Dianne, Don and staff. Every detail meticulously attended to. Beautiful lodge with easy access to rooms, dining area and porches. Room was spacious, including the bath. Parking/manuevering can be a bit tight , so recommend driving a smaller vehicle if practical and convenient with your plans. "Wonderful for relaxing and romance"
This is one of our favorite b&b's. Very comfortable and romantic. No details have been overlooked in an effort to provide the guest with everything they could possibly want. In addition to fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, there's also wine and cheese. For the quality of the lodging, the rates are reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

What a great location, everything was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious every morning. We are looking forward to going back in the fall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Much more than we expected"
I was extremely pleased with the B&B. Dianne does a great job of making it very comfortable and homey and goes out of her way to take care of the little things to make it a more relaxing experience. She has certainly set the bar very high. The only reason I can't give it a 5 overall is the noise level. We were in a room on the main level and were not […] able to sleep in because of the ambient noise coming from the kitchen and dining areas while the others were eating breakfast. Maybe the other rooms in the house are more private, but the Long Mountain Suite room needs to be addressed for acoustics. Other than that, it was incredible. We will definitely come back. Long Mountain Lodge B&B was and is a Great place to stay and visit. It is in a greta location and the staff is excellent. Diane,Tim,Don,Caroline were great. We arrived late and used the phone as explained when we arrived and Tim was there to let us in with hardly any wait time. I would recommend this as a great place for couples this was our first time […] to stay in a bread and breakfast and it was a greta experience for our first time. Enjoyed the three night stay at Long Mountain Lodge B&B for our 25th wedding anniversary. Inn keepers were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant experience. Breakfast was fabulous and lodge was top notch. Ms. Carol and Mr. Hal (who were subs for the regular inn keepers) were super-friendly. Would not hesitate to stay again. Perfect getaway with my husband. The bed and breakfast is away from the main traffic of the town and in the woods - very quiet and peaceful. The innkeeper was delightful, provided wonderful snacks in the afternoon and fantastic breakfasts in the mornings. The fireplace all prepared for a fire in our bedroom was wonderful. Very close to the town of Dahlonega, […] just a short drive away. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Romantic and Relaxing"
My BF and I came here for our 1 year anniversary and stayed for 3 nights. It was a wonderful stay. We stayed in the Whissenhunt suite, which was upstairs at the end of the hallway. We had a private outside entrance and beautiful view of the mountains at the writing desk. The room was so clean and comfortable and the whirlpool tub was amazing. The staff […] was so friendly and the breakfast was delicious. It was served by the staff and consisted of 3 courses plus juices, coffee and teas. They provide afternoon snacks and menus and brochures of surrounding restaurants, wineries and shopping. It was such a great stay and we look forward to going back next year. This is a wonderful b&b, where the innkeepers have thought of everything. The breakfasts are particularly outstanding and so huge that I usually skipped lunch. Diane is a great cook and was very flexible about the time she served us. My husband wanted to get an early start on hiking and she kindly had our breakfast hot on the table at 7:30 am! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We stayed both upstairs and downstairs, because we arrived a day earlier than planned. While our downstairs suite wasn't available that first night, the owners were very accommodating and gave us another room that was open. The downstairs suites are bigger, with king beds and huge bathrooms, but we liked both rooms very much. We were very impressed with the attention to detail. Everything we could have wanted was there, from night lights in the bathrooms, to a corkscrew and ice bucket, and lots more. We are away from home about 200 nights a year and have stayed in many five-star hotels around the world, so when we're impressed with the quality of the innkeeping, we do know what we are talking about. The lodge has a beautiful, quiet location and is very convenient to Dahlonega. It's an easy 13-minute drive into town. Later in the week, I drove by the turn-off for another top-rated b&b in the area and realized how far it is from Dahlonega. I was glad I had chosen Long Mountain Lodge instead. We are not from the South and don't have any particular reason to visit Dahlonega again, but we enjoyed our stay so much that I hope we'll be back one day!
"A beautiful winter get away"
02/28/15 Krista B
We arrived for a bitter-sweet good-bye as we sent our son to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. We found this the perfect place to spend our last night together as a family. From warm and gracious host family to every food detail delicious (evening snack through amazing morning breakfast) to fireplace in the room to cozy lodge room to meet other visitors. Additionally, the town was delightful and the area was beautiful. There was no detail left undone from the moment we walked onto the screened porch to the moment we left the well shoveled drive after a snow. When we return, we will stay longer, as I cannot imagine a season that would not be perfect to be inside or outside at the lodge.

We arrived on a Wednesday after power had been out for 2+ days to find cheerful hosts, everything in perfect order and a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Diane and her staff are exceptional---definitely live up to her philosphy of treating people as one would like to be treated. A few examples, breakfasts were no less than three very delicious homemade courses (all three mornings the menu was different), our room and common areas were amazingly clean, they made our dinner reservations to a local eatery, provided maps to nearby waterfalls, gave great recommendations of local wineries and attractions, library of older and new volumes available at all times, rooms are private with no noise from other rooms, location is well off highway so no road noise, incredible view of mountains and sunrise, fireplace was ready to light every day, our room had in-room coffee but also available in dining room along with a fine selection of teas. We will definitely return and will advise our friends to visit.
"Gorgeous mountain retreat"
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Long Mountain Lodge. It was the perfect place to relax and take in the magnificent views. The service was top notch as well as the savory breakfast! This is definitely a place we
"Love this B&B!!"
01/03/15 Darlene W Jackson, Mississippi
Visited Dahlonega for a few days including New Year's Eve. We decided to try this B&B and were so glad we did. Our room was nice and included a wood burning fireplace. Everything was ready for us to light a fire. Additional wood was in our room, as well. The suites included a Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and jacuzzi tub. There were water glasses and wine glasses, a corkscrew, ice bucket, bottled water and chocolates. In other words, the rooms were well equipped for an enjoyable stay! In the late afternoon in the common area, hot homemade cookies, cheese, crackers and dip were served. Your beverage choices were coffee, various teas, sodas and wine. Coffee, tea and sodas were always available in the common area, 24 hours a day. A three course breakfast was served between 8:30 and 9:30 each morning. The breakfast consisted of a hot fruit dish (absolutely amazing!), homemade muffins, and different main dishes, all of which were delicious. The owners were extremely hospitable and kind. They are very knowledgable of the area and hiking trails. We were guests here on New Year's Eve and upon returning to our room that night, we were surprised to have a chilled bottle of champagne awaiting us! Such a nice touch of hospitality! We will definitely plan to visit Long Mountain Lodge again.
"Beyond our wildest expectations!"

My girlfriend and I decided last-minute that we would love to avoid the typical madness of New Years Eve and do something completely different. We were extremely lucky to find one remaining available room at the Long Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast in the Chattahoochee National Forest so I cancelled our reservations in the city and headed north. We are experienced travelers for both business and personal trips and I have to honestly say that we have never felt luckier to have discovered a place in our lives... The little town of Dahlonega (tough to pronounce!) is the quaintest little former gold mining town... The buildings and town square have that rustic look and feel. There are great restaurants, live theater, several local wineries and of course chances to pan for gold or just take in mountaintop views.(the Wikipedia page for Dahlonega is very informative) What REALLY will always stick in our minds though are Don, Diane and Colleen, the proprietors of the Lodge. From the moment we checked in and were given a personal tour of the B&B we felt like we became part of the family. There are just so many things to like: The breakfast, all from scratch, is to die for. There's a library with rare books, rooms with personality, large decks with mountain views, beautiful trout ponds (one with a semi famous 7lb Rainbow lurking below the surface) and the Appalachian trail is only a few miles away as well. We could not bring ourselves to leave after only a day so we stayed another! (We chose the one room called the Treetop that was separate from the main Lodge and very private!) There is no doubt in my mind that we will specifically return here for future trips and forego the usual vacation spots. If there were 6 stars available that's what we would choose for every category!
"Great cozy retreat"
12/30/14 HalandAnna Brussels, Belgium
We went here for an anniversary weekend. Usually we try to go to old edwards inn in highlands, which was booked, so we thought we'd try the dahlonega area and this B and B. From the reviews we expected it to not be of the fancy old edwards caliber, but the lodge did exceed our expectations. Granted, the decor is a bit 80s and 90s and there was linoleum where you'd like to see tile, but it was very cozy, with beautiful views and a great breakfast. Our room had a wonderful wood-burning fireplace in it that they clean and reset everyday. The owner, family, and workers were very friendly and hospitable. They even left a little something special in out room for our anniversary. We would definitely stay here again.
"What a Gem in the woods of Dahlonega!"
12/14/14 Kevin A Saint Andrews, Canada
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at the Long Mountain Lodge while our vacation to Georgia in October. What a fantastic experience. We had the Whissenhunt Mountain Suite which had its own fireplace and entrance and balcony. What a great view in the morning and the staff were amazing. The breakfasts in the morning were always different and homemade. They have the best waffles I have ever tasted. The coffee was really good, especially the Georgian Pecan. The pond is stocked with fish. It was so relaxing to sit by the pond and think. You could also fish and try to catch some fish. Great Job Dianne and Tim. We will be back when we are in the area.
"A quiet place in the mountains"
11/30/14 Jorrit K New Smyrna Beach, Florida
My wife and I spent four days here over the Thanksgiving holiday. We found the lodge to be a warm and friendly place. It was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Campbell mountain room and enjoyed a nice fire in the fireplace each evening. The room was cleaned and a new fire placed ready to light each day. The breakfast each morning was varied and delicious. The lodge is close to Dahlonega and Helen, and we enjoyed trips to both. Highly reccommend this place if you want to stay in this beautiful area.
"Wonderful Weekend Getaway!"
11/24/14 Jackie B Atlanta, Georgia
Long Mountain Lodge is the perfect B&B - everything from the room to the owner exceeded our expectations. My fiancé and I spent the weekend in Dahlonega recently as a much needed escape from the city. Dianne was such a gracious and accommodating host. She took the time to add special touches like a birthday cake with candle waiting in our room upon arrival because the trip was a birthday gift. She also helped set up a perfect day of wine tastings with transportation. The room was cozy and clean, with a wood burning fireplace that was set up and ready for use. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious!! I've never had eggs that tasty in my life! I will absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!
