My stay at the hotel was perfect except for the fact that the elevator was out of service and was not fixed while I was there (for 2 days). An employee did, however, carry my bag up the 3 long flights of stairs. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Excellent location with easy access to the metro. St. Stephens (Stephansdom) is a 5 minute walk. Google map the address for easier ability to recognize the hotel entry. Nice large room with huge windows overlooking central Vienna. Friendly and very helpful staff. Clean rooms & comfortable beds. I might request a room facing the courtyard as we like to sleep with our windows open and it can be a bit noisier on a weekend night. You would never guess from the small, hidden front door that the Opera Suites is so wonderful. And at a fraction of the price of the fabled Hotel Sacher (which is literally across the street!), how can you lose? Just a lovely, family-type inn with very helpful and friendly staff - and you can walk to many sites in beautiful Vienna.

Huge room with enormously high ceilings in a very convenient downtown location. Bathroom was clean and shower was very functional if a little on the small side. The entrerance looks like it is the storefront of a failed business in the heart of the city. What we found after going up the stairs (we never did use the elevator) was an absolute gem. However the state of main entrance at Kartner StraBe is ABSOLUTELY disgraceful in that there were unattached fixtures that were on the ground in direct path of walkway. After researching many reviews of hotels, we picked this one and it was definitely a good choice for us. Very clean, modern bathroom but room and outer lobby had a wonderful historic and cozy feel to it. Location was near all of the major attractions and metro was close and easy to use. Other reviewers mentioned that the walls were thin. That was true […] and we had a crying baby next to us, but we were so tired from sightseeing that it didn't really bother us. Also our room faced the street, but we liked that because we could see the beautiful Christmas lighting. The family member who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. As many other reviews point out, this Hotel is indeed perfectly located in the center of town, across the street from the Hotel Sacher and the Vienna State Opera, a short walk from many great sights, the subway, trams, and located in a pedestrian zone. We did not have any difficulty finding the hotel the way some guests have reported--it is very clearly […] marked. The service in the hotel is impeccable--friendly, generous, helpful. The staff go out of their way consistently. The room was immaculate. We chose a superior double rather than a double, and we found the size of the room was great. The bathroom was especially large and comfortable (fabulous shower), and the bathrobes were a nice addition. The free WiFi worked perfectly and the Nespresso machine was a nice to have. The room had an air conditioning unit, and was well heated (it was November). In addition the staff had fruit, coffee, and mineral water available to guests in the reception area, and we had a refrigerator in the room. We ordered the breakfast on one day of the seven we stayed, and found it excellent and slightly less expensive than equivalent breakfasts in nearby cafes. However I would recommend visitors to breakfast at local cafes for the experience of the place. I have only one concern that applies to ANY hotel (including far more expensive ones like the Sacher) that are located on or directly off the Kärntnerstrasse. On the weekends especially the street can be noisy until late, and in the mornings, delivery trucks often arrive early. With the windows closed this was not a problem, but I can imagine that for some travelers this might be an issue. I would advise those people to choose to stay in a different part of town, since the Opera Suites is no better or worse in this regard than all the hotels in the neighborhood. I have stayed at many of them, and Opera Suites was by far the best value. It was a delightful place to spend a week in Vienna. Read more

Very quiet, however, despite being located on the Kartner Strasse pedestrian area. Not quite enough luxury for us. Definitely a 3 star.

Stayed here when I was in Vienna to attend a conference. The location is close to everything. It is within minutes to the Opera House, Hotel Sacher and the subway station. And from the subway, you can get to pretty much everywhere in the city.
