It is a bit older, but it has been updated, painted and was quite clean. My only complaint was about other visitors in the motel. There was disruption on the commons area after 1 a.m. which no staff addressed.

I was blown away with the level of customer service provided by the employees. They were amazing and very nice. The indoor pool was great for the kids. The AC unit didn't work so it was a consistent 75 degrees in our room. They tried to fix it. I wasn't the only person in the group with AC troubles.

I stayed at this hotel for the Antique Fest. located in Round Top. This was a great location only about 25 min. from the Fest. For the most part the hotel was clean. The carpets needed cleaning or replacing. The carpets in my room looked like they had not be vacuumed for a while. There was a build up of dust/dirt on the carpets in the hallways. Staff was great. Pool was warm. Our room was good size. Only negative the floor of our room looked liked it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Was not a 5 star hotel, but comfortable and meet our needs.

Was pleased with the room: mini-fridge and microwave. The bathrooms had been updated. Liked the sink in the "hall" part of the room outside the bathrom. Did not use the pool, but it looked nice. Breakfast very slim: one type of bread (white), no decaf made (Only one burner worked, the attendant told us), no pastry or bagels. No fruit. Room was basically clean. However missing pillow case, and bottom sheet that did not go all the way down to the foot of the bed was disturbing. As was the train noise. Additionally we booked this hotel over another for the hot-tub, since one of us was experiencing muscle pains. It was not clean enough to trust using it.

The hotel was close to the Area we were visiting. The staff was friendly and efficient. It is located close to Summerville Lake which was a welcome plus. We were thankful to find anything vacant for a TAMU game, but were still amazed at how icky the motel smelled and the antiquated and cheap breakfast offered. Additionally, we found a live scorpion in our room the last night!! I think the workers are very friendly, but the establishment is simply not run with the high standards of the U.S.

Someone needs to spend some money and update the rooms. The blanket was pilled, the carpet was stained and the room was musty. The continental breakfast was sorely lacking. It consisted of a biscuit with sausage wrapped in its plastic wrapper - no fruit - yogurt - sweet rolls - Just needs some TLC and some updating! The staff was very helpful!
