A short guide to St. Charles

St. Charles sits at one end of the 225-mile Katy Trail State Park bicycling and hiking trail. Founded in 1765, Daniel Boone was an early resident, and Lewis and Clark trained here before heading west on the Missouri River in 1804. This hotel sits alone in the middle of a sand lot. Convenient to the highway. A good amount of restaurants and services in the area. Hotel itself is clean and comfy. No complaints. Worked great for us, as we were skirting St Louis, but if you want to stay closer to the city, this is not it.

The rooms was beautiful, & very very clean. Breakfast was really good too. Employees were very nice. The only negative thing I can say is that it was way over priced. That is the only thing that will keep me from visiting Holiday Inn Express again or using Hotel.com.

I choose the hotel because we needed an place to stay the night near St. Louis, but not too close to the city itself. This hotel worked out nicely. We checked in close to one in the morning and still the hotel staff was pleasant and professional. Breakfast the next morning is what you would expect from a free "hot" breakfast, although the pancake maker […] was a nice switch from the usual waffle maker. The hotel and staff were really great!!! We were traveling for a funeral with 4 kids ( 10, 8, 3, and 1) we got the room with bunkbeds and it was large enough for us and we felt very comforable. The housekeeping staff were the best. When the cleaned to room everyday the paid extra attention to the kids beds and their stuffed animals. Making sure everything […] was like it would be at home. With having a little one its hard to eat in your room, the staff allowed us to use the breakfast room so we could use the highchair. Over all I will stay here again and again... This HIE was impeccably clean and the entire staff was nothing but friendly. The room was fantastic and the view of the pool was weird but the toddler enjoyed it. We will definitely book here for our next trip.
