Very nice location with a view of the Yacht Club and marina. No beach but very close to restaurants and clubs which cater to the big boats. The Yacht Club bar is quite loud at night but friendly. Most of the people you will meet are Yacht crews. You are a 25 minute drive to the capital but a 10-minute walk to Nelson's Dockyard (a must see - great restaurants and bars)and airport. Pay WiFi but free WiFi at the coffee shop across the road overlooking the marina.

The beach was awesome, amazing blue waters and the hotel had a beautiful view. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and always around. All inclusive is worth buying as it made the process much smoother at meals. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was decent but the buffet choices didn't change so it got a little old after u ate the same thing everyday. Not a good array of juice choices at breakfast for it being a tropical island. The only downside was the rooms. The walls were paper thin and you could here entire conversations. A little old as for furniture although the bed was comfortable and clean. Wall outlets were limited and none were available in the bathrooms which made it difficult for a hair dryer or straightner. Lighting was very dim and it was difficult to see at night. Air conditioning is old fashioned an thus is difficult to keep the rooms at one temperature but it worked fine and had no problems cooling the room down. The room was very clean and had no problems with bugs, which is an awesome feat in the Caribbean. Again I would highly recommend this hotel. The arrangements were decent and you barely spend anytime inside unless it is to sleep. The beach was beautiful, can't express that enough. Exactly what u would want on a Caribbean island, and there was security there day and night so u didn't have to worry about theft.

I liked the cottage. It was quiet clean and a good location for me. It was very near Dickenson's Bay. I think you would need a car for ease of transport. The car rental is cheap in Antigua. Otherwise there are lots of taxis around. Dickenson's Bay is rated one of the top beaches in Antigua. The staff was very nice and handled all my needs.

"Simply the best"
My husband and I just returned from 5 days at Hermitage Bay. We have taken a number of beach vacations over the years, and this was, quite simply, the best ever. Absolutely the best, most relaxing place we have ever stayed. The hotel is not all marble and glitz, but that's what makes it perfect. There are no loud casinos or nightclubs, just the sound of the waves, possibly some nice live music during dinner. The food is the best we have ever had, and that includes staying at some of the highest rated hotels […] is the world. Pure ingredients, most from their own garden. Employees are friendly and helpful. The beach is private and beautiful. No children was a welcomed surprise to me as I have, and love, children but htis is totally a couples getaway. In fact, we did not see any couples who went together or ate together- simply a getaway for a couple, alone, to recharge their batteries. The all-inclusive was great, and the liquers at the restaurant and in the mini-fridges in each room were stocked with very nice, labeled liquer. Can't say enough about this place. The only advise I would give is that the hillside places are a hike up some pretty rough steps, so if you are older or not good at uphill climbs, take the beach cottages (but hte view of the island from the hillside cottages was unbelievable)...Great place! Hermitage Bay is a hotel to relax, with a “private” beach and a nice swimming pool with a bar standing just beside, only you need to do is to lay down and ask for a drink (recommend the Mojito) while relax with the infinite view from the pool to the sea. The staff is very professional and cordial, they are always ready to serve. The environment is calm […] and integrated with nature. The resort is one of the nicest accomidations of its type that my wife and I have experienced. For sure a couples getaway, the rooms, food, drinks & help was at the highest level. There is plenty of simple activity to do...sailing, snorkling, hikeing...on location, or the resort will make arrangements for extended sailing adventures or seadoos.
