We were very disapointed in the hotel. The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was very outdated and rundown. It wasnt very clean and had an odor. We couldnt wait to leave.

I have a trip of 2 weeks from Vancouver to Edmonton and back. This is my first stop. Of all the hotels I booked (including those in Kamloops, Hinton, Edmonton), this is the most expensive hotel. Yet, I do not expect that there is no elevator for access to 2nd floor. I requested over the counter, but declined. I was told that if I have specific requirement, […] I need to spell them out at the time of booking. Which is true. But I am not on wheel chair, I just cannot carry my luggage up the stairs. First night there were 2 tour buses there of under 25 year olds who partied until 4:30 A.M. and came in at all hours during the night whooping and hollering. Nothing was done about it, although the morning desk people were very apologetic. The walls and floors don't seem to have any sound insulation and you can here every foot step, every door close, […] and any water running anywhere in the building. In spite of having pre-booked and requesting a quiet room we were subjected to the noisiest one on site. Right over top of the generator / ? which acutally caused the contents of the room to shake continuously and more intensly when it shifted into high gear. Would not stay here again.

The condition of the hotel room is probably a reflection of the bleak economy in this remote town. Old, scratched up furniture, tattered thread-bare sheets, paper thin walls. We enjoy this hotel as it is close to the highway, always enough blankets in the room and the quick breakfast is a bonus...Pet friendly hotels are always a welcome sight as we occasionally use them...Frig and microwave are a bonus as not all "big name" hotels have them as we have found out...

We were told it would be 2 queen size beds and it was 2 standard. The pillows were about 1/2 the size of usual pillows. The fridge froze all our food and drinks. The carpet was in need of a good cleaning and. when we had to move the small bedside table, we found food wrappers and dirt. We were greeted by a very friendly night manager, enjoyed our walk to the Caribou Grill Restaurant where the food was awesome. The motel was comfortable and clean and roomy. The morning continental breakfast was perfect for heading out on the remainder of our trip. Great!

Staff was really, really nice and helpful. The room was clean, and would stay there again, at the right price. However, hotel room was dated and overdue to be redone. Had a suite room, and the kitchen and bathroom sink were combined, which was a little weird.....

We stayed for 1 night on our way to the National Park, and what a pleasant stay we had here, beds were comfortable, very clean & quiet place and shower was hot with good pressure. Breakfast was included and there was a lot of selection and all good, coffee was good as well. The hotel is off the highway last on hotel street? Exterior looks good but next to trucking outfit and bus depot! Lobby big and open with fireplace and lots of wood trim. Hall to room cluttered with furniture and dirty. Room was non smoking with old large cigarette burn in carpet between the beds that had clean sheets and two pillows each. Bathroom and sink was clean but title floor had numerous breaks and cracks, shower handle had some exposed mechanical parts. Went to get weather and news but those TV channels snowy & distorted only 5 that were clear with NO CNN, TSN or GLOBAL, CBC, CTV coverage. All said, the breakfast made up for some of short comings with lots of variety and fresh everything, even included canned fruit & yogurt. Would look in local area for better rating for dollars paid. Our experience at the Super 8 in Valemont was exceptional. We would definitely stay there again. The hot tub and steam room is spacious but there is no pool. The rooms are large and well appointed. Everything worked as it should. The front lobby was inviting with oranges, coffee and water readily available and free. Breakfast was included.
