Perfect spot for a team to stay for either Carson City or South Reno events, as it's a lot cheaper than anything you'll find in Reno. The building itself is nothing fancy - a big box on the main drag. And few amenities - no hair dryer or pool or continental breakfast (but food at the Nugget Casino a block away is cheap). But, it's very clean and comfortable […] and suprisingly quiet (even though I was on the ground floor fronting Carson Ave.) Small lounge with coffee and big TV is nice, as is the big mini-frig in the room. We were quite surprised with the accommodation right downtown. The front desk directed us to a wine walk and 2 good restaurants for dinner and breakfast within walking distance of the room. Both were pleasurable and reasonably priced.

For a Carson City Motel, this was really a pleasant surprise. It's nothing fancy mind you, but the rooms are clean and featured free wifi, a large flat screen HD TV and a refrigerator. As a woman traveling alone on business, I had comfort in being on the 3 floor of a 4th floor building - with all interior halls and only one when into the building - […] past the front desk clerk. My only issues where there was a terrible musty smell in the halls that carried over into my room when I first opened the door. I was on a non-smoking floor, but part of it seemed a carry-over from the smoking floor? Once I got the air condition going in my room, it wasn't as noticeable. By morning, didn't smell it at all - until I left my room and went into the hall way. The other might have been an issue with their cable service, or maybe it's an issue with HD TVs in general? In the middle of watching a channel on the TV, it would periodically go black and I'd have to move back and forth between channels to get what I was watching back on the screen. The City Center Motel was great. You can see it was recently remodeled, and the rooms all look very presentable and are comfortable, as well as the bathrooms. The hallways of the motel itself were a bit toasty and smelled a bit like cigarettes, but going through them is a small trip between your room and the outside. The staff was outstandingly friendly, […] no matter whom it was at the counter, or the cleaning staff. The price we had was also great for three people, and we even extended a night more in our room for the same price as booked through hotels.com. I don't know if it is the time of the week (weekdays) or the economy, but I was baffled to see this place with so few cars in front, it deserves more business. Read more

I check reviews -- pros and cons.. I was pleasantly surprised.. Front desk was funny, friendly and helpful... The rooms were very clean, had a refrigerator, TV, Radio, Wireless (you had to ask for hair dryer) I would recommend this place to anyone... planning on staying there next year. Great Location too

The property is centrally located with wonderful restaurants nearby. They have done a remarkable job of renovation and somehow managed to fit all the amenities from computer hookups to extra plugs into the rooms! I expected a marginal property based on age and was so surprised by the wonderful experience and great staff!

Fine place to stay when you visit Carson City. Would say the best bang for your buck. Went on the weekend of Labor Day, and the rate is pretty much just a regular weekend rate. Didnt actually see the shuttle that is promised at their website.

We found bugs in our room, which we brought to the attention of the manager, Ruth, who said that they were 'outside bugs' and that not to worry, she had them in her house too'!! One of the beds had been made up with blood stained sheets. The stains were old and brown, but hadn't been cleaned properly. The wall above the window was covered with cobwebs. […] All this was told to the manager, who reduced the bill by $10. Big Deal. I have never been to such a dirty motel in my life, and I travel for a living all over the world. As my credit card details were taken at the time of booking online, I could not prevent the charge going through. However, I will be disputing the charge. AVOID THIS PLACE !!!!!!! Read more

I don't have experience with many motels in US yet, but this one was just a great value for what we've paid. Conveniently located in the center of the city, but still not noisy. Free WiFi really worked, which is nice to see. The room equipment has seen few winters already, but the room was clean and well maintained.

I have stayed at The City Center Motel in the past. It has always been fine. It's an older building and hotel but I have never had a problem with it. I was told this time that it's being completely remodeled. The outside has been painted and the lobby area has been redone. It looks very nice. I was told that floors one and three have already been refurbished […] and that three and four are next. I stayed on the fourth floor, so I did not get to see what the finished room looked like. Even though I stayed in a still old fashioned room, it was very nice. I have never had any problems with any stays that I have had at The City Center Motel. I recommend it. Read more

The Hotel is a 4 story building in downtown Carson City. The price was good and the room was a fair size and clean except a little bug on the pillow when we check-in. The hall way was dark with a towel on the floor which was never picked up doing our 1-day stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the casino and other attractions. There is no swimming […] pool and no TV guide but there were a lot of channels to watch. We did ask the desk clerk for a tv guide but was told what whatever is in the room but we were happy with the hotel/motel. I would recommend getting a room on the south size of the hotel, you will get shade in the morning and no sun in the late afternoon. Read more

The hotel is very clean and quiet and is right in the center of Carson City. Having just been renovated, it could have a few more items in each room i.e. Hair dryer (available at desk), area booklet, phone book. It was a good and reasonalbe place to stay.

I was happy to see the room looked better than the pictures in the ad. I stayed two nights and just needed a place to stay while I golfed in the area. It was clean and in a decent neighborhood, but it's a no frills motel. No pool,no fridge,no microwave. The staff were nice and everything in the room worked perfectly, hot water,t.v.,heat & air conditioning. […] My two nights were quiet (no patries or noisy people around). I will stay here again but I wouldn't bring my wife. Not enough amenities to please her. It's a clean, safe and basic place for not much money. Other reviews complained of disinfectant smells. I barely smelled anything but turned on the a/c for ten minutes while I brought up my luggage and I never smelled anything for the next two days. I hope this review is helpful to someone. Read more
