The hotel is located very conveniently on top of a subway stop. So, even if the hotel is a few subway stops from the central business district, it only took a few minutes to get there on subway. The Lotte City Mapo was in a great location for our daughter's College, that's why we chose it. The subway runs underneath the hotel so it is great for getting around. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very expensive compared to the restaurants and bars around it but very nice. Great location with a subway exactly next to the hotel. There is a small market, coffee place, and restaurants right below the hotel. The only problem was we arrived at the hotel early at 7am and the hotel told us that if we want to check in then we have to pay 1 night extra so we decided to not check in early. Loved our stay in this hotel. They were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We even asked for a humidifier and they had one for us to borrow. The only problem is that I thought this hotel was located in Mapo station (because of the name of the hotel), when in fact its in gongdeok. Otherwise it was a nice stay & would recommend.

I stayed here for 2 nights last week. The room was pretty small but the bathroom was huge. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I liked how the hotel was connected to 2 subway lines as well as to a supermarket, plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and beauty shops. Stayed 6 nights, 5 days in October 2011. Very nice location with subway access in basement to Lines 5 and 6. Nice mall with restaurants, shops, and supermarket in basement as well. I was, initially, surprised at the quality of the hotel since I didn't expect to book a high class hotel. This Lotte city hotel in Mapo is a gold tinted/colored twin hotel attached to its long term rentals, and I'd make sure the taxi driver is aware of this new campus of Lotte hotel chain. One of the new noodle shops within the hotel's grocery store was great. Mapo is a business district and I could easily walk to one of the beautiful Han river bridges that has a bike trail below/side of the bridge. Although I had to mention to the front desk about overly eager housekeepers that do not always respect the "do not disturb" sign and clean up the room anyway, the hotel staff were generally very friendly and helpful. We loved the location of this hotel right on top of the intersection of subway lines 5 & 6. Also, the market in the basement is handy; and the pool is pristine. The room was immaculate and well-appointed. My only complaint would be that it was difficult to cool the room down at night.

It took about 1hr 30min (depends on traffic) to get to the hotel from Incheon Airport. Either Bus # 6015 or KAL gets to Lotte City. Announcement is made for each bus stop. When you get off the bus, the hotel is across the street. Take the escalator to the hotel reception which is on 2nd flr. The staff speaks good English. We got our room on 6th flr. […] The room is very clean and the bathroom is very roomy. There is both a bathtub and shower stand. Internet connection was okay, sometimes it was slow and sometime it was fine. Underneathe the hotel is where you could find supermarket, shops,& dozens of restuarnts such as sushi, Korean dumplings, ginseng chicken & BBQ etc. The staff at the restuarants don't speak English. They speak Korean of course, and a very few speaks Mandarin. The menu shows pictures of the food, so it is not problem to order food. The MTR (Subway) is underneathe the hotel. You will fine Line 5 & 6. If you are plainng to go to many locations, please get a Seoul CityPass from the Vending Machine at the MRT station, it is cheap,easy & fast to get around Seoul. The subway is super clean. The most expensive fare for us was 1400won = USD 1.40. When you get out of the hotel, the bus stop including KAL and Bus 6015 is on the left. KAL costs 15000Won and Bus 6015 costs about 10000 - 12000 won. KAL is more luxurious w leather seat similar to the business seat on the flight. Getting to the hotel was not too bad. From the Icheon airport, the airport train and transfering to #6 subway at the digital electronic city took us about 50 minutes to get to Lotte. The hotel was clean and beautiful, decorated with Christmas lights on the outside and stylishly furnished inside. The beds were soft and comfortable, the bathrooms were state of the art. The views out our windows were wide and enjoyable cityscapes. My only complaint is that the rooms only come with one double or a double/single set up. They are expensive for small rooms. Hotel is located just on the edge of dowtown but, within reach of dowtown. about 10 to 15 minutes by taxi 10,000 won fare. Overall I found that this hotel could use some improvements in the area of customer service. Dealing with the front desk the service was hit or miss. Some were courteous and patient while others seemed short and abrasive it really depended on who you dealt with. That also goes for communicating in English. I found that if I asked questions beyond check-in […] jargon I struggled with obtaining mutual comprehension of my inquiry and getting a clear answer. Sometimes the dialogue was iterative. There's a little nickle and diming with the business center. They charge for print jobs. I wanted to print 5 pages and it was going to cost me 10,000 won ($9). The room itself was actually quite nice. The bed was a little hard but the room had a very important quality that I needed - quiet. I found the size of the room to be just right for a single person to stay in. I found the cleanliness of the room to be okay however the delivery of products wasnt consistent. I found they were a little stingy with toilet paper and body wash. The bottled water was only provided if they could not find any other bottled water in the room. So if you bought extra bottles at the grocery store and stashed them in nightstand, that was your water for the day. The location was excellent for touring Seoul. Sitting on top of the subway with shops and grocery in the basement made for very favorable economizing of time and/or money. I do believe with work this hotel can be amazing. Read more

This is a bare bones place to stay, not luxury. We had to call housekeeping at 4 pm to come clean our room after we'd been out all day and had left the notice on to "make up the room". They seemed baffled by our request. The Front Desk staff is barely accommodating, little English spoken or understood. Overall, lovely hotel. The rooms are smaller than what most westerners would like however. The hotel is within walking distance of the subway and many great restaurants. The hotel is very new, clean, and convenience. From Dongdaemun by taxi, it costs only about 7,000-8,000 won, and from Myeong-dong area is around 5,000 won only. But it's also very easy to reach by subway. Subway is just right there on B1 floor of the hotel ;) Terrific, huh?

This hotel was clean and well-kept. It's like a city of it's own. The basement levels of this hotel contains restaurants and a Lotte Supermarket that we visited every day. It's also above a train station that is accessible without having to get wet on a rainy day (it poured 3 days when we were there). While the location of the hotel is convenient, there is no attraction around the area within walking distance. We had to take the train everywhere. And at the end of a long walking day, even a hike back to the hotel is too much. Another great feature of the hotel is the daily drop off shuttle bus service to the main shopping areas. A complimentary shuttle bus is available at 10 am and 3pm every weekday (9 am, 11 am, and 3 pm on weekends) at the front of the hotel to pick up hotel guests and drop them off at certain shopping areas. The bus was very punctual. We stayed on the fourth floor and it was the best floor to stay on. We were across from the beautiful and huge pool, laundry room, and gym. The pool is very clean and relaxing. We only wish there was enough time to enjoy it more. It opens at 6 am to 10 pm. If it was open pass 10, we'd be using it everyday. The rooms are standard American hotel size. They were very clean too. Be careful getting to the hotel after getting off the airport limosine bus because we had to cross a busy street. It was weird that the bus didn't drop us off in front of the hotel. The walk wasn't far but was a bit hectic when we each had a huge suitcase. I'd stay here again for the pool and cleanliness. I'd love it more if it was closer to the main attractions. Then again, there's the Lotte Seoul Hotel that probably fulfills all those requirements for a premium. Read more

Highly recommend this very nice, clean hotel to foreign travelers to Seoul. Family of 4 stayed in Seoul 4 nights. Seoul does not usually have rooms to accommodate 4 persons in 1 room. Airport limo bus drops you off across the street from the hotel-short walk across busy street. Hotel is relatively new and very clean. The bath rooms are wonderful! Fully loaded with the "Captain Kirk" toilet seat/bidet controls and a shower/tub room. Nice to have an empty frig to load up with personal drinks and complementary water/coffee/tea daily. So different from Tokyo hotel \where frig was packed with overpriced beverages. The lobby had 3 computers available for guest's use without charge. Was frustrating waiting to print something (only 1 computer connected to printer), while guests played with their on-line anime characters!! Next time we travel overseas, will most likely take a laptop along. Most hotels have internet connectivity. Lobby attendants were not the most English conversant, but they tried their best to be helpful. I think this hotel has one tower for high end apartment living. Below the main lobby are 2 floors with restaurants/coffee shop/bakeries/grocery. Only down side is that these stores and those around the hotel are really not geared towards out-of-country (cannot speak Korean) guests. Be adventurous, point at the pictures, most menus have English. The BEST was the Lotte grocery store!! The teenage boys could go down and pick up snacks and beverages any time during the day.
